Truly 5 star experience. The hospitality shown by everyone, from the guard at the entrance to the receptionist and the butlers, and the from service team was very good. They were also kind enough to offer an extended check out time (as it was a weekday). The one bed villa is highly spacious. A little too much so. There is a dedicated dining room which can seat 6 people (more than the number of guests the villa can accommodate for a stay). Making this a 2BHK for the same price or a little more would make the price point attractive enough to bring in more guests for a longer stay. Or having a smaller villa for a reduced price point would also make sure people frequent the hotel a lot more (I definitely would come more). The patio was also large enough to have accommodated 2 poolside chairs, small coffee table that can seat 3-4 people, a large coffee table with chairs / sofa that could seat 4 to 5 people comfortably, a gazebo with a king-sized mattress. All of this and the plunge pool. The patio is covered, allowing you to view the desert and the sunset whilst enjoying the amenities privately. As I visited in September the weather was slightly bearable. November through March would be much better. The plunge pool was well maintained, and as it was an infinity pool, dust and dirt did not settle much. The pool is temperature controlled (youll have to call the reception). The pool should have a retracting pergola; would help enjoy the pool between noon to an hour before sunset as it can get scorching hot then. Seeing that we had a toddler, the staff gave us floaties, which he enjoyed.TIP: Order your breakfast in, so you can stay in the pool a little longer and have your meal too.

My father and I were in Abu Dhabi and I want to go Horse-riding🐴. So my father found this really nice Resort in the Internet. Its in the dessert and so fantastic! As we arrived there someone picked us up with an caddy and we drove to the reception. The service and the people there was so kind! Later my father asked for Horse-riding. There was a stable next to the resort. The caddy drove us to the stables and then the tour starts. We rode about an hour through the dessert and talk with the guid 🏜. It was so nice to see the desert from an other perspective. After that we went again to the resort. Its about 3 minutes away from the stable. You felt welcome, even if you came by spontaneously and didnt have a room. We ate something. For my father a pizza and for me a sandwich. It was really good 🍕🥪! We diceded to stay for the day there. We walked through the resort and around it. You can do there a lot of things and theres a big pool🌊. Also at a few suites are pools. After that I decided to go to the horses again and I rode again an other tour. My father wanted to make some pictures at the resort with his camera. So at first he brought me to the stable and talk with the guid. Then we rode to the Racetrack. My English was not the best, but we understood each other and talk a bit. While I was Horse-riding my father was in the resort and have had done a lot of nice pictures 📸. We rode a few minutes longer and it was so nice! After this tour my father comes to me and we decided to drink something🥤. The time passed at this nice day. At the evening 🌇 we saw the guid with a horse from the morning. They was at the resort and some people came to make pictures. We also go there. The guid told us the sit on the horse to make some pictures. The pictures with the sunset 🌇 was so nice. We talked a bit and still are till now a bit in contact. At the evening wo drove home. It was a really nice day.

Magic location in a quite and relaxing area. Amazing service, especially at Terra Secca restaurant. Thanks to the Italian chef Vittorio, I had chance to taste the best egg plants in parmigiana style. The unique is the traditional Italian cuisine, which is not easy to find in the Emirati restaurants. Other dishes, such as pizza, and pasta were amazing! The wine was suggested by chef Vittorio and it was the best combination with the food! Excellent table reserved for us, in the garden, with grass and 2 horses; where the atmosphere ever and the background was completely out of the daily routine in the city. Thank you to the entire staff and in particular to chef Vittorio! Highly recommend this resort for relax and for amazing food; for sure we come at soonest!

My husband and I had booked a stay at this hotel to get some family photos in front of a nice back drop as we had recently had a baby. When we informed the hotel, as a courtesy, about our decision, they told us that we were not allowed to have our photographer (a lady with a camera, no other equipment)in the hotel due to privacy concerns. Not to mention it took them 4 days to respond where we had to follow up daily.I felt considering we are loyal Marriott guests, and assured them no ones privacy would be violated, the hotel was unaccommodating and unreasonable. Especially considering the countless of influencer accounts that get free stays to take professional photos in hotels. Many who are under this hotels umbrella.I guess paying customers who cannot get you publicity are not allowed to have nice photos. Only ones that can be taken on a mobile phone.I have now cancelled and will not be returning.

Absolutely beautiful resort, it’s really disappointing to see such a wonderful hotel built to such a great standard but not enough staff. The spa, the restaurants, all the staff are running around like ants. No one is answering the phones, or able to meet the demand of a 5 star hotel. It’s a shame! I was very excited when I arrived until I saw what’s happening. The management should take full responsibility for what’s going on, as the staff are overloaded. I loved the food and the place, the soft bed sheets, wonderful views of the desert. Just a shame the overall experience is less than 3 star.We were calling the hotel for 2-3 hours prior to arrival, but no answer. Tried to book a 2 person massage 2 days prior but they don’t have 2 female staff available.Lots of things to improve before it’s a 5 star experience! The staff were not happy and that was obvious and a shame.Plus I had checked out at 12pm mid-day and received a call at 2pm asking where I am inside the resort and that I am required to check-out! When I told her “excuse me, I checked out hours ago, paid my bill and I’m not even in the area now!” She replied “oh right!” What the!!! Unbelievable.

We were looking for a staycation within a 1 hour drive from Abu Dhabi, we decided on Al Wathba resort which is 50 mins away. It was one of the most pleasurable stay we experienced in the UAE since a long time. The rooms were outstanding and super comfortable, special notice to cleanliness, COVID measures taken, the delicious food and what tops it all is the friendliness of the staff, who went above and beyond the norm to make us very happy. I specially want to recognize the manager Mohammad who accommodated our requests by organizing a Bonfire in the desert near the hotel, and the Italian restaurant manager Antonia, a super sweet and friendly lady who provided us an amazing service and made our dinner and breakfast times very pleasant and memorable. Who knew that we would find diamonds in the desert but the Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa was just that. We had been expecting to stay at another hotel, but a last minute cancellation by that location had us scrambling to find a new place to spend a couple of days to celebrate my 60th birthday. Call it kismet, karma, or luck but we could not have stumbled upon a nicer resort on such short notice. The trip from Abu Dhabi had an unusual amount of traffic congestion but it wasnt long before we were making our way beyond the highway and meandering down what seemed like back country roads leading to nothingness. With the assistance of Siri, we finally pulled up to this desert oasis called the Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa. We were promptly greeted and introduced to Reza, she would be our hospitality butler. She got us checked in, luggage on its way to our room, and she then proceeded to take us on a lovely tour of the property. The grounds of this resort are like that of Marrakeshs medina. We wound ourselves through the beautifully lit walkways marveling at the Arabic architecture. Little coves, hidden passages, and seating areas, both large and small dotted our trip as we strolled about. Finally making it back our our room for the first time, we were wonderfully surprised by the size and luxury of the layout. Our bed was flecked with red rose petals outlining HBD or Happy Birthday. There was even a wonderful chocolate torte was birthday wishes on it as well. The large king size bed was opulent. It was covered in a wonderfully thick white comforter and the sheets were soft and cool. In the bathroom there was a separate room for the toilet, a walk-in rainfall shower, a gigantic bathtub and double sink. Beyond that all the other amenities were present. Our room had a private balcony that overlooked the desert. The first thing we noticed was how quiet it was. This was one of the things we had hoped for, the peace and tranquility of the desert.Al Wathba Desert Resort and Spa has only been opened for approximately 3 weeks. Once a part of the Jumeriah hotel group, it has now become part of Marriott Bonvoy. We learned that there are major changes planned for the near future. There are plans for the Buddha Bar to make its appearance, along with an Italian Restaurant, and an authentic Turkish coffeehouse. Some areas of the resort have yet to get opened, but as the weather cools the bookings will continue to increase. Since they have only been opened for a short period of time, expect the grounds to be spruced up with colorful landscaping and some of the worn cushions to be reupholstered.Because you are in the desert doesnt mean there isnt anything to do. In fact, you can go fat tire biking, learn to do archery, the pool is cool and refreshing, you can spend time with falcons, and like us, take a horse back ride into the dunes. Currently the spa portion of the resort is still not operating due to Covid 19 concerns. The restaurant currently preparing all the meals for the guests is Bait Al Hanine. The kitchen team but out some fantastic meals during our stay. Pastry Chef Yousuf sends out at breakfast a beautifully prepared tray of fresh baked sweet and savory pastries to start your day. These rival the best in France. It was hard to say which was my favorite but I would probably lean towards the almond crusted croissant with a light Madagascar vanilla bean creme filling. Magical! Lunches, and dinners were equally delicious. See pictures. If there was one thing that sets Al Wathba apart is its staff. The service that we experienced during our stay was nothing short of amazing. I want to extend special thanks to Sheraz, Aizada, Dhruba, Sigit, Kish, and Rose. The friendly, professional service made our trip so pleasurable that we can not wait for the next opportunity to visit.I will let the remainder of my photographs continue the story of our stay, but if you are ever looking for that romantic desert holiday, look no further than the Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa.

As a Dubai resident who is used to the excellent level of services And professionalism at the different Jumeirah group hotels, I was extremely disappointed at the services I received with my family at Al Wathba Desert Resort and Spa.From the lost luggage at our arrival, to the room not being cleaned and serviced until 7pm in the evening and only after we called them (never witnessed anything similar at any other hotel), they provide one shampoo and one shower gel for a double occupancy room!! No one picks up the phone at the reception or the house keeping (guests should expect to spend some time to have someone answering their calls at the reception). There is a lot more to say! There was good and bad here, but I feel like it has a long way to go to get it up speed for the Jumeirah name, and standards. Our room was beautiful, reception was friendly and helpful, the grounds are amazing, with a ton of activities to choose from. The food was good, but I think after 2 nights stay, your choices for something else is extremely limited. The signage for anything useful is absolutely non existent. We went on a ridiculous quest through the entire grounds to FINALLY locate the spa. I then got the token mild pressure stock relaxation massage, when I had booked a firm pressure deep tissue massage. A little different then what I was looking forward to and cost close to 600 AED. I aso really appreciated the adults only lounge that we found through sheer dumb luck, as again, there was no signs. I would like to recommend an Adult Only area at the pool, as Im on holidays and not looking to hear other peoples kids wine and cry. Just a suggestion from every adult only couple anywhere. So all in all it was nice, but for the prices theyre charging, and the Jumeirah name attached its not there. Maybe an experienced successful G.M. from another Jumeirah hotel would be a good place to start.Theres A LOT of room for improvement here.

The restaurant staff were not well trained, no one ever picks up the phones at the reception, and we had to ask multiple times and wait ridiculous amounts of time for the things we did ask for. It was definitely understaffed in every which way. It was a real shame as we were hoping for it to be a place where we could bring relatives in the future given how close it is to Abu Dhabi. We paid a lot of money for a very mediocre experience. Don’t waste your money at this resort. We stayed at Qasr Al Sarab and it was a much much better experience. We decided to go there for a afternoon tea with my sister in law and also to check the resort for a possible staycation. The lobby lounge was not operational and so we decided to go to Al Messyan. It’s a kind off rooftop bar in the desert. The views are alright given that the resort is closer to the Abu Dhabi city.It has Outdoors and indoor seating, comfortable sofas with rich Arabian design, and decorated with lots of lanterns. The great aspect is that it overlooks a stunning desert as well. It was overall a good experience as we got to experience the sunset as well. They do serve flavoured Shisha. However we felt the resort is totally understaffed as we had to walk out without much informations and there was no one to even help us with the directions (forgetting a welcome). The entire restaurant of Al Mesayan had only one staff to assist ( while the other gentleman was standing still - not sure if he worked in the restaurant) and Moundir was a great gentleman with his service.

Great place to spend a family quality time .. I love the facilities and the activities .. but the hotel can do more .. also I was unhappy for the unavailability of the staff at the reception I try to call the the whole day and a few time the answer. Also the breakfast should be better .. other than that it was good time.

AGAIN a staycation for our family. Beautiful hotel and the entire thing is so relaxing. Its got this chilled out laid back feel which I definitely miss in Dubai. The resort is quite and even iffull you dont tend to see many people as its wide spread and well designed. Our ground floor suite was especially nicely designed with a large comfortable balcony overlooking the dessert.(some weird shed construction was on though:))The Suite was spacious and the kids had enough space to bounce around.Pool was also nice with sections for the sun beds giving extra privacy. F&B was reasonably priced unlike some other. The kids loved the free falcon show and teh falcon guide was very friendly and accommodating. The included breakfast felt really boutique. Very good quality and all live cooking. super friendly staff.Dinner is only available at the outdoor buffet restaurant and the fine dine Italian which was a bit restrictive as we had kids and wanted something casual. All in all, fabulous hotel and wel definitely return.

A beautiful place and a desert resort, calm and relaxing, and the desert nature, and it is characterized by a beautiful Arab Andalusian character, with all services, spa, and various international restaurants available, I advise to visit those who need to spend an enjoyable calm day. There are also villas on the resort.

I booked a 3 night stay at Jumeirah alwathba, but unfortunately until now I’m unsatisfied with their services!First of all the TV network keep disconnecting, there is not NETFLIX in the TV! How come this hotel is new and in the middle of the desert and there is no Netflix or even good TV channels to keep me entertained!Today my second day the breakfast is not up to 5 start hotel standard! The croissants are hard and burned! The halloumi cheese smell so bad! Not enough variety at all! No one helped us to a table! I had to call 3 staff to clean for me the table and I waited more than 15 mins to get a clean table and cutlery!I hope I find something to make me happy in the up coming days!

I was highly dissatisfied during my stay. I booked this resort to rest and relax away from work pressure and stresses of life, I chose a 2-bedroom villa in order to relax in my private pool and enjoy my weekend but instead I was faced with aggravation, stress, anger and dissatisfaction. It was a thoroughly dissatisfactory experience. At first, upon check-in there was a line of guests and only two people on the desks we had to wait for a while to check-in same thing on check-out we even waited longer on that as the clerks kept saying the system is down. As we were escorted to our villa, per the attendants there, all golf carts were two seaters it was very inconvenient for us to go back and forth in two carts and the drivers do not drive safety Ive had to tell two of them to slow down twice as Im pregnant and had two children holding on for dear life beside me.Concierge services are non-existent in Jumeriah Al Wathaba, we called front desk 6 times to ask for something until we got a reply from anyone and even when I asked why no one answers the phone or even calls the villa back he said this was the 1st call he received from my villa I replyed by saying so you call your guests liars now? And I asked to speak to the manager, the clerk put me on hold then he said my manager will call you back, manager never called me back until he saw my review on Trip Advisor he had his assistant call me the next day when I was about to check out at around 11. There is no other means to get into contact with management to complain manager never made himself available to guests even when he received my complaint through TripAdvisor he sent his apologies through his staff and the housekeeping manager. In other resorts weve been to high paying customers are always greeted or at least bidden farewell by the resort manager in person, his means of trying to amend our situation was to wave the fee off one night of our stay. So instead of paying near 20K UAE I paid close to 10K and that was supposed to make-up for everything. The pool was not working and not filtering or circulating it was filthy with bugs and dirt when I called they sent me the engineers twice to fix it, even they agreed that there was a problem with it the circulation wasnt working nor was the heating working my kids and I swam in frozen filthy water from god knows how many guests before us and they all left the resort with runny noses. Never was I offered a room change to a functioning villa nor was I ever during my stay apologized to by management even when I requested the manager speak to me on Friday, the only time they spoke to me or tried to reach out is when I voiced my dissatisfaction on google-reviews and TripAdvisor I would have posted it on Booking too but unfortunately I chose to book directly with the resort itself. Housekeeping manager came to see me while I waited during check-out to apologize but was very defensive and tried giving an excuse for all their shortcomings and then said but remember we weaved away your fee for one night and wont let you pay for the broken vase which was a safety hazard really it could have hurt our son as it wasnt stable nor was it safely anchored to anything. He kept going back and forth about my review and how I should change it or remove it and be happy for the compensation I got which was very offensive to me.The resort was very dusty all over, some of the water features all over were not working. My villa Ac’s were very hot and never went under 24C or 23C even when set to fullblast. The AC panels shone very bright when the master key was off we could barely sleep from the blue light shining in our faces, I had to put my sons boxers and shorts over it in order to sleep properly. The outside area of our villa where the filthy pool is was surrounded by building-materials left over junk all outside the villa. I’ve been to Jumeirah all over the world and never have a faced a similar situation.

Lovely desert hideaway, far from the city bustle. Only if the WiFi was switched off as well!
