What a great experience at their Friday brunch! The starters, pizza and dessert were really good, I especially recommend the Diavola and Truffle pizza. Our waiter Bilal was so friendly and kind, making sure everything was good at our table. We ordered Espresso Martinis without sugar.. probably an nightmare request for the bartender but they were so good! Will definitely be back!

WOW! Amazing place. Super authentic, staff are very friendly and know the menu well.Visited on a Friday night, very lively with fantastic music.Every dish was freshly made, filled with flavour and presented in such an authentic manner.Definitely a place to visit, laugh, and enjoy amongst friends.The only issue I had was the light smell of cigarettes from the smoking area however didnt notice it after a while.

Quite unique decor with cool red candles and overflowing wax. Food is good. I tried the garlic butter pasta and burrata pizza. Both were tasty. We went there as a big group and found it difficult to get hold of the servers. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience.

Had the Friday Brunch. The appetizers are on a buffet and then you have the unlimited ala carte menu to try which are full portions. Limited desserts but delicious. Think its my favourite Italian place.

Matto have just launched Matto Belles ladies night and offers a three-course menu with bottomless drinks for AED 180 on Wednesday. Choose from carpaccio(4/5), salads(4/5), pizza(5/5) and tiramisu or gelato while sipping on unlimited cocktails. We tried the Italian Job(5/5) and was a lovely cocktail. The ambience was just amazing, the place was very crowded and hence led to slow service but even with the crowds our waiter took some extra effort to help us out. Overall its a good deal and a great way to try out the variety available here.

Great ambience, very friendly staff, but pizza was a let down. A buffalina pizza, the simplest of pizza was mostly tomatoe sauce. The nice waiter did however do everything he could to make our experience better. Maybe it was just an off night for the chef.

Amo Matto – Crazy is the new normalMATTOAn unordinary Italian RestaurantCrazy is the new normal. I and my wife were invited to a food tasting at this – As Italian as it can get- Boasting of Homegrown and Homemade ingredients- playing by its own rules. We arrived for a brunch setting on a lazy Friday afternoon least expecting to be blown away by its spectacularity. What truly amazed me was the Italian feel of the restaurant boasting of an all Italian Staff – Chef to the DJ. What awaited us in the next two hours was a gastronomical tantalizing meal filled with the taste of herbs as Italian as they can get. This was truly an Italian experience. We were greeted warmly by their Brand Manager  Giordana Attilio who patiently explained the concept and showed us the place. The decor was brilliant giving a feel of an Italian café. The Dj console neatly parked on top of a bright yellow scooter was quite interesting as the Dj belted out out some equally interesting mood lifting melodies. We filled our plates with Italian pieces of bread and delights as the Chef put together some masterpieces in the shape of Pizzas- Each one crisp, cheesy and herbilicious in every bite. We tried the Parmigiana-  with mozzarella, tomato, fried eggplant, Parmesan and rocket 78, The classic Margarita, and The Tartufo – Mozzarella , black truffle and green asparagus 92.  The herbs introduced themselves to our palates in turns as we savoured each bite. The barman Michel (hope I got the spelling right) – cause he did get the cocktails so awesomely right. The Cocktail which was fruity, medium bodied, having scents of apricots and a hint of golden apples hit the right spot followed by Sacra Sangria – Zonin prosecco brut, brandy, peach liqueur, homemade peach purée and fever tree soda. The experience was as Splendid as the service. We sauntered out feeling Italian and crazy as I sang to my wife ” l’amore mio sei tu”

The best pizza dough dough in Dubai with amazing flavors, if your are looking for amazing pizza here is the plaza (pizza Monday specially) as for Sherwin (not sure the spelling), and Mido! Both are amazing. I really love this restaurant... The atmosphere is nice, the service is great and the food is amazing!!! My favorite Pizza is the “Burrata” and “Tartufo” ,best noodles definitely “Melanzane & Burrata” and “Porcini & Tartufo” ❤️

I remember Matto from my first experience - food was spot on! Hence I took my friends to let them experience.Hovewer this time something went wrong. Both pizza and pasta we’ve ordered was quite cold not knowing why. Taste was there but not the temperature. Marinated vegetable salad was good in taste but way to much of a unknown cheese. Pasta portion worth 120aed was quite a baby size too.The waiter serving us was very helpful and friendly. After addressing the issue we were offered a free desert, that was nice.Not sure if I will come back there anytime soon.

Cozy place and delicious itlian food!

Our first visit to Matto in the Oberoi had been a couple of years ago and it was pleasant enough to justify a second one (mid November 2020) because we happened to be in the vicinity and wanted to eat Italian food.The valet service of the hotel had been withdrawn because of Covid. (Please note that all other hotels with the 5* marking continue to offer it albeit with the requisite precautions).Straight off we noticed an air of dullness and neglect in the hotel: the elevator which we were forced to take from where we parked our car smelt of sweat and hair oil; the windows of the lobby were covered with dust and had clearly not been cleaned for weeks). Shocking because the Oberoi is a big brand and generally associated with the highest standards.The restaurant itself- MATTO- had a lurid red lighting which coupled with the hour (lunchtime) made it appear most unattractive. It was empty save for one table occupied by (clearly European) tourists. The maitre’d had no wish to engage with us, offer suggestions, ask us for our order or even smile at us. His primary focus was on the Europeans, possibly in the hope of a big tip which he didn’t expect us to match. He kept sending another guy (not a proper waiter because he deferred all our enquiries to the maitre’d) to our table.The food when it arrived was ridiculous in portion size in relation to the prices. The taste was good enough but nothing exceptional to warrant the absurd pricing. The wine was good.We were displeased enough to tweet about it which resulted in a response from the Head Office of the Oberoi. The General Manager (or so he claimed) of the Dubai Oberoi called us a couple days later full of insincere but polite platitudes and assurances. We let it go. We ain’t going back there again.

Quality food, refreshing drinks and such a lively atmosphere: “Il Matto” really knows how to go crazy, in the Italian way. Loved the details, the original idea of pasta straws, and even more the authentic Negroni you can enjoy with it. Staff is friendly and funny, I really appreciated the energy of the hostess Daniela. One advice would be to play more of Italian songs, which is something really wanted and so hard to find in the city.

A very good italian restaurant. Went there with my colleagues. We all truly loved the food and service. I especially loved the mushroom and zucchini pizza. Very fresh and light. We literally repeated the pizza once more as it was that tasty. Ambience is also really good though it does not boast any good views. I guess the hotel as such lack a bit in scenic views as it is right in the business Bay center.

The ambiance of the place is beautiful. However, the food was ok, but nothing that special about it. Had the beef steak for two as a main course which I thought would be a good big steak to share, but it looked like around 300 grams and dry. The value for money is overpriced. Very very good, staff are helpful, polite and always smiling. That’s normally a good sign the decor of the restaurant is also nice. More importantly the food was great 4 different main courses all perfect, good choice of wine with reasonable prices per bottle and the deserts we also very good. Will be back and pretty sure this will become a regular place that we eat.

It’s a nice chill-out place and authentic as endorsed by an Italian (not me). I had the chance to try one of the Italian dishes - Cotoletta Alla Milanese. Absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and greeted us with that Italian charm. 😊 It’s also more of a casual place so you can always go there wearing jeans, but of-course you can never be overdressed in Dubai!

Fantastic brunch!! well worth its value with exceptional Italian food, great portion sizes and great variety. Attentive staff, nice crowd and pleasantly not too loud music...even the smoking section is not interfering with the non smoking side, no smell whatsoever.

We order different times before and the food was quiet good. In or last order the quality was completely different and not deserving the price. We order pizza with fresh black truffle and what we received was truffle cream with bad cuality. Even the cuality of the pasta was much inferior than the usual. I really hope was just a bad day.

Went to the matto brunch today. The afternoon staff were absolutely amazing ! Great food and great drinks. The staff after 3:30 were grumpy and just plain rude. Which is a great shame as we were having an amazing time before then. They really did let the whole team down. Other then evening staff on a Friday. The afternoon staff were gorgeous!!! Recommend it !

Matto is one of the best Italian restaurants in Dubai if not the best!! Great vibes, amazing food and excellent staff.. Visited Matto on 2 brunches occasions and had an unforgettable experience both times. Russella, one of the hostesses was top notch; she was great while booking a table on the phone, quite thorough, pleasant and attentive and it was lovely meeting her on the day. Bilal also took good care of us and was prompt to attend to any request. I would definitely go again and would highly recommend this place.

Most of the small pizzas we ordered had a complete burned pizza crust. Those that didnt have tasted very nice. Service started good and ended poor by waiters being too busy to take our orders and ignoring our table

Do not believe their Eat non stop pizza every Monday at the Matto. campaigns, after you choose this package  when you want to order some pizzas  they said you cannot order this  you can not order these, they eliminated all good pizzas only seven pizzas left which are mostly cheap and vegetables ones like margarita . And all Pizzas come in test size, i mean a very little, and also with too thick dough sides. And lastly you can easily find better pizzas in Dubai no need to go Matto.

A friend invited us to the resturant, we are in love with italian food, the place was nice and cozy. We felt in love with the food. The prices were a bit high, but we enjoyed our time there.

The food is actually good, but the service is extremely bad. The restaurant wasnt even full. First we were seated near the bar and no body came to take the order for 15-20 minutes until I waived to the manager who then asked one of the staff to take our order. They offer complimentary bread basket which never came to our table. The appetizers arrived after a while and then we just kept waiting while watching our neighbors eating their main dish when they actually arrived after us. They also forgot my drink and when I got the opportunity to ask about it they apologized for missing an ingredient. My friend walked to the manager and spoke to her in private about the bad service. The manager apologized and she was actually very nice and asked the staff to tend to us. They brought the food and offered me complimentary drink and the manager came to our table and apologized. The server with the long hair actually ruined all of what the manager did due to his rudeness and lack of professionalism. When he was asked to take care of us he was very aggressive in changing the silverware, and when we asked for the check it took him 6 minutes and he just rudely threw it on our table. He was actually very rude but I didnt want to make a scene. I appreciate what the manager did but its still a 1 star experience no matter what. I dont understand the reason for such treatment but maybe because we were wearing Kandoora? Very disappointing experience

The staff is super attentive and the service is great (rarity in Dubai I find) my friend and I ordered food which we customized so it took 15 mins longer and they just completely took it off the bill without us complaining. Honestly, I didn’t feel it at all as we were still enjoying our appetizers and wine.
