I love this restaurant. Its one of my favourite places to visit at the W Palm for Asian food. The food is Japanese with Korean flavours and ingredients. They also have a full vegan menu which is great if you need to accommodate different dietary requirements. Always consistent and delicious. Its not cheap, but they sometimes have nights with different promotions. Its an excellent choice for a special occasion. When the weather is nice, book a table on the terrace which is stunning. A lovely place for lounging and has peaceful views over the pool. Highly recommended!

I cant finger exactly whats wrong but Akira Black simply misses the mark in terms of being anywhere close to an authentic Japanese restaurant. Nothing tasted bad but equally, especially at their prices, nothing was amazing either. Just OK at best.Ambiance is nice though 😬

The outcome is insanely delicious and worth the visit. We enjoyed a selection of items that are mouthwatering and unique. The Tuna pizza, Truffle salad, Rock shrimp, the special maki’s and others. Not a single item was disappointing. I highly recommend this place.

I love the view in this place, evening went really well and I have great memories attached to this place.The view of dubai is laid out for you while you enjoy a delicious meal. And Speak of a delicious meal, the waiter had a great knowledge of the menu on that evening. She was able to give me a quick review of the options. And was very attentive to choose the meal for me that I enjoyed!I sat outside and observed everyone have a great time, very lovely. Also noticed a man sitting inside and working on his computer. I found that very adorable.

Cool place, nice view food is nice although sushi option are a bit limited, just place was too busy that there was some delays in brining the ordered food, staff are nice and friendly

The venue is amazingly beautiful specially outdoor. Food is fusion Japanese with Korean influence. The food was perfect with question mark on the Wagyu ribeye Steak. Biting the steak didnt represent the wagyu because it was full of sauce which in turn beats the wagyu experience; nevertheless it was good. Service was very attentive even though it was busy and the manager was on top of the service helping in. I have remarked that seeking reservation is too difficult and the method they are using for reservation doesnt utilise max capacity of the restaurant.I wish the best of luck and I shall visit again soon

Excellent Japanese restaurant.. You must try:- Tuna pizza.. Thin sliced tuna on crispy biscuit with truffle.. Yummy- AB Tacos.. Bite size crispy Tacos with juicy need with amazing taste- All suchi is very nice but the surprise was the cow signature roll.. Amazing fusion for suchi and meat lovers- dont miss the chocolate cup for dessert- even though I am not a big fan of spinach, I absolutely loved the spinach cream salad..I think the secret is the sesame creamy sauceThe staff was super friendly and very welcoming to the kids.. Disappointed with the food. I was expecting some next level flavor. Most of the things we ordered where super oily, and lacked true taste. I guess the hype is not real.1. Crispy calamari ( Extremely oily was not expecting at such high class restaurant.2. Prawn tempura ( Wagamama do the same for half the price poor taste.)3. Spicy tuna roll ( nice and fresh)4. Spider roll ( again oily)5. 48hrs wagyu short rib ( super tender just lacked flavor and salt )6. Apple harumaki ( Could have been done much better, the batter of the harumaki was crispy but really hard to pull apart and lacked softness on the inside.ALL in ALL the food is average and expensive

This is now my favourite Japanese restaurant in the whole world. It s extremely creative and the tastes are very subtle and elegant. The must be something that people like, but for us, it was close to a total disappointment.The Japanese cuisine is usually focusing on the original taste, but what we got served in about 10 different dishes (so called best of) was a very creative way to make really nice ingredients tastewise totally DEAD. A pitty.O-Toro Tatar with sauce and 9 Extras. Nothing left from the tuna „filet“.Cod - drunk in sweet miso. Nothing left despite textureSashimi was average qualityAnd the worst was timing. We ordered two main courses to share. Cod and some Korean beef. Need came 90 sec after cod. Why?! Just gets cold and you cannot mix.So, it’s nice venue, awesome view, friendly staff, food is ok, but don’t expect crazy stuff.

Disappointed by the food.We tried the Yuna pizza that everyone praised but it was OK but not that great. The sea urchin wasnt that good and tasty a little bit old as it tasted fishie to me. I love sea urchin and I have eaten many of them and I can tell that one wasnt a good quality to the asking price.The fatty tuna that we requested wasnt fatty tuna at all.The steak meat we ordered was high quality but sadly the sauce ruined it due to high saturated bitterness and covered almost all the meat that took away the good taste of the mean.Was so excited reading about the restaurant and seeing the photos but then crushed by the price for the “ok” food we ordered. Really disappointed.

This restaurant has creativity. Its great to hear the unique inspiration behind each recommended menu item.The tuna pizza is a great start along with the spicy edamame. I would get the salmon tataki.The miso black cod is great too.The best sushi rolls we tried were Perfect Storm, Protein Roll, and Hot Mess.Chocolate in a cup is a great way to end the meal.

The food is of an average level and below what you expect from a high-end positioned restaurant like this. Certainly not the best Akira Back I have been (that was Akira Back Jakarta), and for sure way overpriced! A few simple items for two persons will cost you at least an AED 1000!Being dissatisfied with the main courses, the desserts were great. I recommend to order a tasting plate with all menu items. Its the best Akira Back Dubai has to offer. Although I am not sure if that is the right reason to book a table, but thats up to you 😉

I have been here a couple of times and always had the best time with some of the most delicious dishes. Chef Akira Back has done a fabulous job with the menu, some of the must try dishes here are the Miso Black Cod, Sushi Platter, Tuna Pizza and the heavenly Cake in a Mug. During the winter season they have a beautiful outdoor terrace too, would love to go back again for sure!

The place was definitely worth visiting if you want to take in the stunning interiors. The food didnt do it for me though. Personally other than the crab fried rice, I found the taste factor for the food to be weak and not delectable.

I think this restaurant has a best views on a palm, incredible dubai Marina view, in the night view towards Burj Al Arab and Burj Khalifa.Very good menu, nice seatings near live cooking stations.

The food was exceptional, the sushi is clearly one step above any great japenese! Service is surpisingly average... they served us things we didnt order like 3 times and apetizers were super slow to be served...terasse is wonderful to unwind and sip a « Summer »!

Very nice Japanese restaurant located in the fifth floor of W hotel at palm Jumeirah Dubai. The atmosphere of the place is very nice and amazing view to the beach and the pool. A snazzy restaurant within the beautiful W Hotel on the Palm Jumeirah.They have a wonderful outdoor area with killer views of the Dubai Marina, Blue Waters and Ain Dubai.The Japanese restaurant has great food and I was pressed as the menu had a whole section of vegetarian dishes. I believe we one of the dishes we ordered was the Miso Eggplant, awesome.Great location, wonderful views and delicious food. I am not too familiar with Chef Akira Back but the food says it all..Oh, and definitely a very romantic dining spot..

I dont know what was the reason, but the service was terrible. We had to ask every single thing twice, they kept forgetting things, multiple times. We had the idea that the staff tried hard, but were poorly managed. There was no system. Also, I think they were understaffed. Restaurant needs a better manager. Every table needs to be assigned a specific waiter who has responsibility for that table. Amateur stuff. Food was fine.

Happiness under the stars✨ Stunning 180 view, Atlantis and Dubai skyline. Japanese and Korean cuisine. Good wine selection, little bit pricey but worth it. Good trained and lovely waitresses is bonus.

The Good: Amazing food - get the tuna pizza and brussel sprouts. The waiters were wonderful.The Bad: The manager (Thomas) is a grade A [insert expletive here]. Rude, arrogant and argumentative. Personifies everything frustrating with Dubai.Upsetting that someone who works at the front of house can be so rude that everyone else has to work to undo their poor service. Thankfully they (and the food) did.

The more I say about Akira Back, is never enough! I love, love everything about this place. The food is absolutely incredible, the service is quick and the view is gorgeous.You should try the Tuna Pizza, the Eringi Pizza, the AB Wagyu Tacos, the Creamy Spinach Salad, the RibEye and ask for the Wagyu Fried Rice (its a special favorite of mine ;))Chef Gio is EXCEPTIONAL and my favorite chef in the city. He makes Akira Back what it is today, and his style of cooking and ability to take feedback positively, making changes instantly, is impressive. If youre vegan or vegetarian and are nervous about eating at a Japanese restaurant, I promise you will never be disappointed at Akira Back :)

Great food, quiet setting and overall a wonderful experience. My wife has special dietary requirements and couldnt eat anything on the menu and the chef still whipped up something for her dinner.

Dinner at Akira Back Dubai was insanely good!! The presentation of the dishes, the service and the food were all top notch. As a Michelin rated chef, the entire experience was reflected in each dish. Ive dined at Yellowtail in Las Vegas, another Akira Back restaurant and this was just as good, if not better. The restaurant at the W is stunning and the outside patio is fantastic. Highly recommend!

Not quite often ypu can say that you had a 10 out of 10 experience in a restaurant but in Akira Back we did, the atmosphere, the hospitality and the food all were exceptional, hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Dubai now, I dont usually recommend dishes as that it depend on the taste of the person but the Tuna Pizza was phenomenal and the desert was extremely good, and lastly Ill mention that our waiter just made the whole experience just so much enjoyable.Id strongly recommend the restaurant.

Where to start, we had trouble reserving a table at this place as they informed us they are fully booked. After a long conversation over the phone they finally booked us in for 7.30pm. We arrive and the place is practically empty so not sure why it was so difficult to book us in to begin with. I love sushi and have been to some of the best places in Dubai and all of the world, I can honestly say the sushi was below average, we couldn’t even eat much of it. We ended up filling ourselves up on their desserts which were quite nice. The only reason I’ve given two stars and not one is due to the waiter we had, he was brilliant. As for management I would award zero stars, we spoke to him regarding the booking and food and were basically informed that that’s just the way they like to do things and have been open for so long now and it seems to work fine ( not sure how you can think that 5 months is enough time to think you’re going to be a success) last time we go there. It’s a shame as it could be a lovely place. I think it’s more of place to just go for cocktails and drinks not for the food. Hope the manager receives some etiquette classes and some proper training, this would make a huge difference to the place.

This was our 2nd visit to Akira Back , amazing food and great service and i compare it on par with zuma and nobu. the prices are also very reasonable , the only hitch its located on the palm so its quite a drive from the city otherwise we would be dining more often.

Astonishingly good plant based dinner here under the guidance of Chef Gio. The mushroom pizza adopted from the tuna version is worthy of a Michelin star on its own. Not to be missed.

We stayed at the W Hotel at the Palm in Dubay for a week. The Akira Back is the japanese restaurant at the 5th floor. It has a nice modern ambiance and an awesome view.The food was fantastic. We had salmon, chicken, tuna and octopus, everything was just superb. Definitely high cuisine. Also the desserts were yummy 😋 We came 4 times, because we liked the food that much.The tuna pizza was my highlight, and next time I have to try that awesome looking Wagyu beef the people next to us had. I heard the gentleman saying, that this was one of the things he ever enjoyed.When we come back to Dubai, we will definitely visit the Akira Back again.

Excellent service and quality! My husband and I stayed at the bar and we could see the love and care that the Filipinos and Sri Lankan’s chefs put on each dish. The attendant Swati was lovely and fantastic as well. I really recommend this restaurant.

Went with my daughter. We were given a table outside, lovely views. But it was almost pitch black. I couldnt see anything on the table. The table I think was black too. Black tables matter, but I could hardly see my hand. So I could hardly see anything. The food was good, sushi looked like it had been pre cut. The Toro was a little chewie. The Urchin was a rip off, 180 dhs for 3 morsels. Youve got to be kidding, you can order 50 x as much from Japan for 300 dhs. Wagyu was good, but the plate should have been heated. The truffle rice was the best dish. The Hamachi collar was tasty, but the smell was overwhelming. For 1600 DHS it should have been a knockout meal, but it was just good. Service was very good.

We arrived to this bright and beautiful restaurant full of art, which created a nice atmosphere, the view is amazing to look at while eating, and we were welcomed very elegantly. The staff is very professional, along with a very genuinely caring manager (Mr.Antonio). The food was delicious, each came with it’s own amazing textures, perfect combination of flavors, and very vibrant tastes. I strongly suggest the Truffle Bomb, along with the Foie Gras and the Tuna Pizza. Overall, anything you can find on the menu is a wonderful experience, and no dish will disappoint you. This is probably one of the most intriguing dinners we had experienced here in Dubai.

Extremely poor service. We hosted a private party and our manager, Dave, was by far the worst manager to work with. He did not listen to any of our requests, only went his own way, and was extremely arrogant about his methodology, and charged a hefty price for his unpleasant presence. Dave should be fired. Service was substandard, food was decent. Did not live up to my expectations and this place is comparable to a low tier “cafe”. Expecting this place to close soon as they have minimal foot traffic. good luck!

Fantastic Asian fusion style restaurant with amazing views of the palm and Dubai. Both indoors and outdoors are great to enjoy the scrumptious dishes. The service is friendly.There is even a small cigar lounge for any cigar aficionado.
