Not all review are from people that have had the visa rejected. Many included mine is 100% not.I can understand that you can be busy, but not answering the phone is a bad sign. You decide to write an email and there is no answer for different days. When the answer comes, it resembles the most abrupt way to handle people. Moreover the answer that you receive are not correct or outdated. You write one more email to clarify and what you get is not matching what was written in the first one.Booking an appointment is at all not possible, everything is booked for months.I didn’t know there are so many Italian in UAE… but maybe if you would take more than 3/4 people per day, like other consulate do, the situation would be much different.During COVID is physical social distance required, not between the appointments, you have been hired to help the citizens, not to clock in the hours.Sembra che ce state a fa un piacere a sta li, se nun c’avete voja de lavora, annatevene a casa e lasciate er posto a chi invece di lavorare ha bisogno.

All the negative comments are mostly people who have been rejected visa. Which is understandable because nobody wants to be rejected. But this office is OK,just follow the protocols and submit what is required of you . Dont apply visa with intention to run and hide in italy or other schengen countries . very quick service.

This consulate doesnt even know what public service means. Rude and arrogant people in front desk. No ones picking up the phone line so for any queries spare some of your precious time to visit their office and brace yourself to face these kind of people. Italians are very nice people but not the staff at the consulate. A piece of advise, you have to report to them personally after your trip like it isnt really a hassle when you are working a 9-5 job with loads of responsibilities just like them.

It was an awful experience with Italy embassy. Normally visa process takes max 15 business days however this embassy kept me waiting 30 days! I had to get my passport after waiting one month and went to embassy by the way the embassy is open only one hour for public which is 12-1 pm and they are so rude and not helpful at all. I decided wait 2 more days and my passport returned back with rejection letter! For Schengen do not apply through Mediterranean countries. They are super disrespectful!!

Contrary to what almost everyone is writing here, I had a decent experience there, I applied for my visa then they asked for additional “financial guarantees” so I supported my documents with another bank statement and a sponsorship from my Italian fiancée, I got the visa within 10 days of my application.I also concluded marriage in the consulate and even though they gave us an appointment after 1 month the staff were very friendly and professional.Only negative points I see that usually they are very tough to give you the visa, the location sucks, confused staff sometimes and that it’s a bit disorganized. I believe if I didn’t have an Italian fiancée I would have never gotten the visa.

By far the worst experience with any consulate entity. They dont respond to emails, they dont reveal their names on the phone, they claim that they have far too much work to do and therefore can not waste time talking to customers on the phone. Im assuming customer service training is definitely something they dont provide or look for when hiring. When applying for a Schengen visa you should definitely try another embassy, because this one cant even issue the right one. My husband was issued a single entry despite requesting a multiple entry and providing an itinerary showing the countries we were supposed to visit.

Im an Italian national and always had a great experience with the consulate. Its the only embassy Im aware of that does passport renewal on the spot, Ive always managed to take mine home within half an hour. Also, the staff was really helpful when I needed documents to process my marriage. Much better service than at other overseas representations.

Worst experience ever, rejected visa for no reason for me and my family. Not answering the email to tell what went wrong and why visa got rejected. I believe it is a sourse of earning money for them. Never apply for Schengen through Italian embassy, choose another one who would at least tell you why you got rejected.

Received very poor and slow service at the Italian consulate. Everyone was assisted, whilst I was left unattended. When I asked why I am not being assisted, I was told ALL the other people had appointments and I did not. Although it is very clear from other people’s discussions and inquiries that they also did not have an appointment. Even after all the people in the room were assisted, and a new batch of people came in... I still had to wait... surely after all those people who supposedly had appointments were assisted, you would think they would attend to the rest. Clearly thats not how it works either. Not to mention, that on a Thursday the consulate is open to the public without any appointment, as per their website.I have legalised a POA at the Italian consulate many times over the years, and it has always cost only AED100 approximately and they would stamp it within a few minutes. Today I was asked to pay a fee of AED405, if I want the document within 24 hours. It seemed more like a penalty fee, for complaining about bad service that the price suddenly sky rocketed!Nevertheless, I agreed to pay this “penalty fee”, but asked for a receipt of payment since the fee is so much higher than normal. I was rudely told that they are a government entity so they provide receipts for all transactions. To which I replied, that I have never received a receipt. Upon receiving my document eventually, I was handed the document without a receipt and told that their receipt is a sticker on the paper. Clearly this is not a receipt, but to try and get this message across would be a losing battle clearly. Really disappointed in the treatment and bad service. It was not like this before.

Tedious. Not organized. Unprofessional. We got the visa through CKGS but have to come back after our trip and queue up at the consulate to show that we have returned from the country. Why cant they simply check from their immigration system which should show who has exited on time and who has overstayed. On top of everything we have to come on a working day exactly between 12pm to 1pm. This bureaucracy belongs to another decade. Please revise this process to reflect the modern day and age.

The WORST service ever, my visa was rejected the first time after 24 days of waiting. then i applied for the second time and im currently still waiting for my passport after 25 days when i should have been on my way to the airport now going to Rome to attend my best friends wedding in Tuscany. Shame on you, this is absolute ethnic discrimination, im being rejected or delayed simply because im Arab ! i just wasted AED 6,000 on my airline ticket but managed to refund my hotel bookings. this has been the worst visa experience i have ever been through. Never in my life Ive felt that disappointed, i call them everyday now to checkup on my visa status, the operators are always busy :) PS: im Christian Arab and i cant even go see the Pope in Rome because im Arab.

Applying for Italy visa in Dubai is a nightmare. I took an appointment at 4pm and after 2 hours I was still waiting in the queue to submit my application. For people Waiting outside, it is not even human to wait for hours without water and in a narrow fire exit allay. The customers waiting area does not even meet the safety standards, as it blocks the fire exit of the floor. Customers cannot even complaint. I am sure the consul will not allow this horrible service to continue if she got to know about it.

Experience has always been positive and visited the consulate several times, just to amend changes on my passport, or other required documents related to my nationality and citizenship. Italian citizens are not required for appointments, and I did already apply a visa for my wife (Schengenvisa), a Chinese Citizen, for over 6 times. Out of a sudden internal employees dont have an actual idea of their own bureaucracy, and one Philippine man requested an appointment for an Italian citizen, for a visa application for his wife. At the same time, another person, just next door has absolutely no idea about it and insisted that it is not required. (One Italian man). Absolutely nowhere it says that an appointment has to be made and even their member of staff have not notified anyone about it. In the end, an appointment for the next day has been made and the visa has been issued the day after. There was an Italian woman, initially from Rome, that has encountered the same issues, she never ever ever had to make an appointment, just to apply a visa for her husband. With shaking heads we left the building and came again the next day, with all the same documents and files. I was furious and cancelled two orders with my Italian suppliers, the actual value was EUR 750.000 and even my wife got her Schengenvisa for 2 years, within 24 hours, we decided not to enter Italy or the European Union in 2016 / 2017, and of course not Philippines, because of a rude behavior from their Philippine doorman. For refugees the door is open, but for those for tourism (First and Business Class passengers that check-in 5 star hotels / 120+ nights per year) they are being pushed away. Europe is bankrupt and they want foreigner investment and money so badly, but than they should do something about it and welcome tourists in particular, not punish everyone who wants to visit Italy. My friends traveled to Milan and their handbag and wallet got stolen just right after they left the Prada store. Is it still safe to visit Italy? Are tourists welcome? Do Italians have to get punished by a Philippine man and have nothing better to do than to drive three times to the same place and consulate? Only because of a lack of knowledge by their staff? Is that why the European economy is suffering and airline carriers are operating in a loss and Alitalia has to be subvented by an UAE airline carrier? What is the future of Italy and the European Union?

As per my experience the italian council has attain perfection in hiring unprofessional, inefficient and rude people at their visa section.Everytime they do anything stupid its like an achievement or a feather to their hats.I dont think this is what the council should or has opted for but hiring these people is a shame to any organization and in this case the wrong picture of what the italian council wants for prople goong to visit italy.First impression is the last and according to me this is not what anyone would like to experience even when the trip is not started. My way of looking at this is that the Italian counsil should get rid of such trash rather than the people not going through the italian counsil or italy from the UAE.Customer service should be top priority and nothing else.
