I often visit this place.They offer quite good dishes.I recommend Paitan Ramen, Ankake chahan and Yakiniku Don.I heard theres a Sri Lankan chef who studied Japanese cuisine in Japan for.

Being a Japanese, I underestimated this place. Thought it would be a fusion kind of Japanese (meaning not genuine) but when I tasted Marinated Don, my idea was proved to be wrong. It applies to Yuzu Shio Ramen as well. Inside atmosphere is also not too fancy thus is very cozy.

The 2 stars are for the lovely service... however the sushi was definitely the worst one Ive ever tasted. It is one of the most difficult reviews Ive ever written. Service was lovely and it was the only thing that didnt make me give 0 stars to this place. The sushi was - deeeeeeply fried(the shrimp, or whatever that was looking like a shrimp), there was as double rice as any other sushi per piece. The pieces itself were so big that I had to eat them in 2 bites...I ended up digging into the sushi to remove only the little edible parts of it and throwing out the rice part...I am astonished how people like this sushi... Again the service was great! But the product failed big time...

This place serves a nice quality, nice quantity, fresh traditional Japanese food. The ramen was decent, bento is quite good. The price is high but as I said the quantity makes up for it. Service is also good. Overall a pretty nice experience.

Really nice sushi and bento. The Air Conditioning was down when we had lunch here, but we still enjoyed the food.

I disappointed for all of staffs service. I were not happy due to bad service. I recommend other place instead of this restaurant if you want to eat sushi.

This is my second time to buy food in this restaurant . And i really love the food. But the takoyaki is not available 😭😂 I want to go out and leave that time but suddenly one of the staff there said try the okonomiyaki, same taste with takoyaki and yeah she gotme there 😂 and shes right .taste like takoyaki . its like a big portion of takoyoki but beef lol . I love it.. and. I really like the ambiance . And all the Filipino working there. They really friendly, and the best thing is theirbeautiful smile😊😊

EXPRESS??? Food was good - but we went at lunchtime (which is a time of day when nobody has lots of time) and got served very poorly: first they served everything for me, then way later, when I was already done, came the food for my partner... I finally cancelled the very last dish, which would have been again for me - because 1 hour waiting is simply the limit.....

Very negative experience and unsavory place. The sashimi was very soggy, which means it is not well preserved and wpuld mean worms. Not a good place tp eat!

I got there as result of mix up with another place in the JLT area. I should have walked away the moment I sawcthe siggy salmon and tuna in the display. A ver low quality food, slugish service, and a way overpriced menu. The sashimi was very very soggy indicating poor food management which poses high food safety risk. I dont recommend the JLT branch and I am not going to try the other branches given my bad experience.

Sushi Express features a couple of new items each month which is nice to see. The service here is fantastic and I felt really welcomed throughout my whole visit.There is  a bit of creativity here with some of the maki rolls, as they are wrapped in rice paper, which is traditionally used in Vietnamese salad rolls. I thought they gave the sushi a different texture.It would be great to see the restaurant move away from fried items. Traditional Japanese dishes like Tempura are a must so that is ok to stay, but to differentiate itself from the heavy compeition in Dubai, they need to have unique offerings. The rock n roll shrimp, aka dynamite shrimp is a dish that I see at usually pub/lounges and doesnt belong on a Japanese menu, although I can see the owner having this item for the local crowd that likes it.I had the garlic lemon prawns which tasted ok but was overcooked slightly. The seaweed salad was also nice, it was a bit above average of what I have at Japanese restaurants, but I have yet to find one that jumps out and wow me.The sweet teriyaki sauce used in the hotate scallop was nice, I do wish the portion was bigger. The best dish of the evening was the Ebi Soba. The Ebi itself was too much batter but the Soba itself was the best that I have had anywhere in the world. It was cooked perfectly. When you bite into it, it breaks tenderly and you have the Al Dente effect that would be found in spaghetti.The mochi I had for desert was also nice. The best is wait for it to become unfrozen so you can feel the chewy, stringy, stretchy texture that mochis are known for.

Yesterday we went to celebrate our anniversary to one of my favorite place in jlt #sushiexpresscafe 🍣 The food was good as usual and it was so lovely that the staff congratulated us a lot. At the end they gave us 20% discount as a gift 💖A year ago we came there for our first date. I was sick, slept all the day long and woke up few minutes before we met 🤣 I was so hungry 🙊 For Anas it supposed to be first experience with Japanese food but I think when he saw my crazy hungry face he was okay with any place 🤣P.s. highly recommend hot roll with mango 😋

Too pricey. Quality of food getting worst. Avoid the salmon as it is not fast moving product. MATCHA CHEESECAKE SUCKS, NOT WORTH AED34 for a tiny slice. MATCHA MILKSHAKE IS SO DILUTED with sugar water. Avoid this restaurant.
