The hotel is well located for visiting Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Mall, but also the other parts of Dubai. Incredibly spacious and comfortable rooms with stunning decoration. What makes the stay in here even more better was the care-taking staff. The service and ambiance was first class. And the icing on the cake is the infinite pool - just swim on the roof and enjoy the glorious scenery of the skyscraper.

Hi, I have been using Marriott brand for many years now. I cannot say it was error free. However, I can confidently say that your errors were always corrected to eliminate disappointments. Yesterday was not the case. Upon our arrival to the Renaissance Downtown Dubai, the person at reception had informed us that the pool was under maintenance for one month. I have never seen my kids that disappointed before. I asked him about alternative as I understand these things happen in properties. I asked if they can use the pool at the JW Marquis that was close by. He said NO. But may be they can use the Ritz Carlton Pool after paying AED 75 each. Then he made the magic statement Dont worry sir. I will do something thatll make you happy. Then he asked me to follow him to see room options. He showed me two rooms that we liked and he said they are an upgrade from what we have booked. Then we went back to reception where he said that the upgrade will cost me 50% more than what I was paying for original booking. WAIT... WHAT?? Since when you charge a guest for an upgrade because they were disappointed with your service????? Im used to get upgraded even when I am happy with the service. Why would I want to pay extra. The rooms I booked were within my budget. The price he was asking for is what I would have paid in Atlantis where they have 10s of pools and water fun. Why would you ask an upset customer for more money?? That is simply NOT right. And of course, when the first thing goes wrong everything that follows becomes an issue. Since check in, I had to go at least once every day to reception to re-program the keys. One time we had to wait outside the room for more than 20 minutes for your staff to replace the batteries on the door lock yielding to both rooms. It was amazingly frustrating but also sarcastic to watch your staff break the lock cover with primitive tools. Our room was none smoking. However, you can smell smoke once entering the room. It takes them forever to bring anything you ask from guest services.Things were downhill from there. Never staying in a Marriott property in Dubai again

What started of as a great check in quickly turned. After unpacking and settling into the room the staff informed us we had to pay double what we had paid in order to stay in the room due to a staff error! After informing the staff the card had already been charged and we had an agreement they apologised and insisted we still pay or downgrade so at 9pm we had to pack our things again and move keeping in mind we have a baby and pregnant. It was incredibly disappointing and ruined the whole stay and that was just day 1. We are still awaiting the refund!

This hotel is in a central location within Downtown Dubai, and is only a short drive away from attractions such as the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall. In general the hotel is exceptionally high quality; the lobby, while leaving visitors without the impression of a soul, is impeccably clean and spotless. The common areas of the hotel are similarly beautiful, especially the pool and terrace overlooking the creek. However, management of this hotel is constantly looking for opportunities to take away the entitlements of guests. As a platinum member of the Bonvoy Group, I am entitled to access to the club lounge, which was understandably closed due Covid-19. As a replacement service, breakfast and drinks were offered as delivery to the room.As I was staying in this hotel for more than 10 nights, the first breakfast was perfect. Everything that I requested was brought to my room. The second night, I noticed that the paper given to me stating my entitlements as a platinum member also showed that I may receive a nightly food and beverage service, Suhoor. I called to reception and placed my order with a worker named Saza. I later placed my order for breakfast the following day with the same worker. Saza did not inform me until a 4am phone call that I was not eligible to receive both Suhoor and breakfast. At that time, Saza called me, but immediately hung up. I returned to sleep only to be woken up by Saza 15 minutes later to be informed that I would not be eating breakfast the following morning. The next day, no breakfast arrived and I was very upset by the poor treatment that I had received despite being a platinum Bonvoy member. The manager apologised on behalf of Saza, and offered to deliver both Suhoor and breakfast the following day.Despite the manager’s generous compensation, Saza continued to terrorise the remainder of my stay. For instance, when attempting to place a breakfast order, Saza limited me to ordering only two juices per guest, despite no such limitation existing. This limit was overturned upon insisting on my entitlements, but a weaker guest may have been forced into submission by this vengeful employee and deprived of their juices.Overall, I can recommend a stay at the Renaissance Downtown Hotel. Everything was perfect with my stay until interference from Saza.

Renaissance Hotel Downtown Dubai is a five star hotel. It has all the amenities one wants and needs while on vacation. All of their restaurants are a good choice to eat and enjoy the indoor ambiance while its impossible to overlook the glorious scenery outside from sunset, the sorrounding skyscraper buildings some with dancing lights or the view of the canal just to mention a few. The hospitality of the hotel staff makes you feel valued and as if youre amongst family. The Grounded Coffee Shop with the best Barister (Evans) in the world is a central attraction in the hotel with its modern lounge that everyone flocks to for the best coffee or smoothies plus more. The hotel rooms are classy and spacious with a home like environment. We stayed there for two 2 1/2 weeks and its the best vacation weve ever had. This hotel will become our home away from home each time that we visit Dubai.

Secondly, we arrived to a room with no coffee machine, when we requested one we got one which caused a huge leak. Thirdly, the Basta hotel had horrible service, we waited 1 hour for our breakfast and even then our order was completely wrong with no apologies from the staff members. This is NOT a 5 star hotel. The best hotel I stayed in Dubai. Comparing V, W(the Palm) and this one. V was complete trash(the one that hosts the show), W was definitely amazing, however this one still did it for me. The service was amazing, the design of the hotel, and the rooms (OMG!!! Seriously). You get the prime materials in the room, like there is no plastic bathtub you will find there. The pool area was chic and the restaurants there are great too! Don’t get me wrong it’s probably not the hotel for you if all you plan to do is chilling at the pool, but if you plan to explore Dubai as well as chill at the pool- it’s a great choice.Overall I wish I come across the hotel that has a better room in some future. All the staff were friendly and highly competent. They upgraded our room for my platinum status which was appreciated. Dubai Mall was easily walkable from the hotel. The hotel restaurants and bars offered a range of options. We ate at the Italian restaurant twice and the service was amazing as well as the food. The room and hotel design was sleek and modern. We especially appreciated the unique lighting fixtures and soft yellow light. Other reviews I read before staying at the hotel said the views were amazing but our view was not - basically looked out over a developing lot and some buildings. However, given the suite upgrade the view wasn’t a big deal and the views from the restaurants and bars were really nice. The only minor negative was that the breakfast hot food choices in the executive lounge were a bit limited. However, the service in the lounge was amazing and I could also have eaten breakfast downstairs (where there might have been more options) but I was lazy. Overall excellent property we would stay there again.

No alcohol being served for two days of a four night stay due to Prophet Mahmood birthday which was fine and I totally respect reasons why but felt this information could have been advised at time of booking. We found Renaissance Downtown Dubai to be a slightly smaller quieter hotel, though August is still very hot in Dubai and not a popular time I imagine. One of the people we met through the shuttle service said that was in fact one of the reasons why they chose the hotel as her husband needed some peace and quiet. As a couple looking for a relaxing stay, we agreed. For families the facilities may be a little too simple, compared to other offerings in Dubai, for example the pool was nice but small and simple. I liked the gym, simple and spacious with modern equipment that can track your exercise with the mywellness app. Best of all, we loved the modern bedroom and bathroom, which is what really makes the stay enjoyable. Unlike a refurbished older hotel, this feels new, it was clean, fresh and relaxing. The bathroom is spacious with with “his” and “her” sinks, a separate shower and beautiful style bath tub to relax (with bath salts provided). I did see a traveller comment about the bathroom (which is very central to the room) being too open for families but it can be closed up. There is a separate sealed balcony area which is a nice separate space to chillax, do some reading and enjoy the view. They had the best IT connectivity I’ve seen in any hotel, lots of USB charging points, support for foreign plugs and Chrome Cast capability with the TV (hidden behind a large mirror like frame) which made it easy to stream content. Breakfast at the bottom Bhar was great, decent variety and chefs to provide fresh food offerings. We loved the custom juices that could be made. Overall, staff in the hotel were very helpful, particularly the “Navigators”. They did a great job to help us plan our few days stay from using the hotel car service to booking the Heritage Trail tour for some Land Rover fun out in the desert. The hotel is not too far from the Dubai mall with a semi-regular shuttle to take you back and forth. It’s not close to the beach or any Dubai entertainment parks, but that’s just a car ride away. I’d go there again to relax.
