Probably one of the oldest Italian restaurants in Dubai that I got to know of only this year. However dating back to 1981 it still offers that nostalgic atmosphere from the inside to the out even to the half illuminated Capri sign board on the outside.Service is good. Sort of a casual place, I stepped in without a booking on a Friday and they kindly gave us a table of six when we were only two.Food is OK. From what I heard I was expecting a little more but I cant complain for what I paid. The Tenderloin was a good choice as a main.

What a way to escape the city, it feels like a vacation in Italy. The salads crisp and refreshing, the garlic bread takes just like mama makes it.The pizza, fish & chips, Italian grilled fish and Sheesh Kebab are some of my childhood favourites. The chef and the waiter is still the same so unlike many places, the taste is the same. What’s an Italian restaurant without calamari and a garlic dipping to die for.I will highly recommend this place to visit.

This 40 year old restaurant is the first and the oldest italian restaurant in dubai.Their menu features familiar italian dishes and have been serving scrumptious italian flavors in dubai since 1981.Our choice of starters were creamy burrata salad and crispy arancini. Both the starters were great and we emptied it in no time. The tempting selection of mains includes pizza and pastas. We highly recommend their chicken tikka pizza and bolognese lasagne. The smell of freshly cooked pizza was amazing.it was full of flavors.Capri serves the best lasagne in town.It was rich, cheesy and delicious.Lastly,we had their tiramisu and it was the perfect way to round off the italian indulgence.Food and service were excellent. We loved the old fashioned italian themed decor too.

Waiters know nothing about Italian food. They don’t even know what “al dente” is. Chicken is undercooked. Garlic in the pizza sauce??? What a shame. The pizza is American and surely not Italian. The mood is dark. The decor is too old. The lasagna is gooey. Not a place I’ll visit again. Or change the name or make it Italian. Start by training thr staff and chef: send them on a trip to Italy.

Happy Monday everyone, don’t you ever feel grateful to be living in this city where we live a life full of abundance. In a couple of months I would complete 6 years, to me it seems a lot but I know that its not a lot compared to so many who have been living here since 30 to 40 years or who are born here, for them this city is their whole life. The Dubai that we live in today is so different from the Dubai they lived in many years ago.Today we see so many restaurants and businesses come and go but imagine a restaurant that stood the test of time and survived everything and still exists, there has to be something amazing about that restaurant and especially it’s food that has served generations.Well today I’d like to talk about one such restaurant that is 38+ years old and still going strong. Thank you to the lovely @kashilicious25 for arranging this fine lunch on a Saturday afternoon at @capriitaliangrill , I now understand why this is Dubai’s favorite Italian cafe. With a cute and cozy ambience the café has lots of cute pictures and artifacts everywhere, the white and red colour combination is perfect and makes you feel like you are in a small cafe in Italy.Coming to the food, we were served some traditional Italian dishes, we started with the Tomato Bruschetta followed by Vegetarian pizza & a piping hot Vegetarian lasagne and a lovely Ravioli stuffed with Spinach and cheese accompanied by some refreshing drinks. All the dishes were excellent with perfect Italian flavours and loaded with the delicious crispy cheese and fresh herbs. I honestly couldn’t stop eating but forced myself to save room for the dessert as I had heard so much about it.For the sweet endings we had a Tiramisu and cheesecake and both of them were outstanding. The tiramisu had the perfect coffee and cream blend and was light and fluffy. And the cheesecake was really soft and creamy and had the perfect sweetness and salt balance. Overall it was a well spent afternoon with incredible food, lovely hospitality, perfect ambience and fantastic company. I highly recommend this place for all Italian food lovers, they also have some amazing non veg options. #dubaibloggers #uaebloggers

Capri Italian Grill is one of the few places where my fondest memories have been created and cherished till date. It is not Alien to many people who have been staying in UAE since 20 plus years. Established since 1981, this place is felicitous to content your Italian cravings. Infact, it is the BEST place to devour Italian food. Capris has been consistent since all these years in terms of its quality and service.I went here for lunch on a Saturday Afternoon with my besties and we had a ball of a time. Their interiors and décor gives you a vibe of dining in an authentic Italian restaurant. Right from their white and red checks table covers, to a Mona Lisa painting on one of the walls, everything was so perfect.I have tried their variety of dishes over the years but these are the few dishes I would highly recommend:Mashed Potatos – The most buttery, cheesiest and whipped mashed potatoes I ever had.Bruschetta – These are not the regular ones you get at many places.. The sun dried tomatores are mixed in a pesto sauce and topped on their crispy bread. Indeed a very aromatic dish in their menu.Vegetarian Pizza – The saying “a slice a day keeps the sadness away” is perfect when it comes to the thin crust pizza served at Capris. Usually we like to eat pizza when served hot, but the pizzas served here can be relished also when its been kept for a while. Infact, the flavours are more evident when u have it cold.Lasagna – This is a dish with thick layers of pasta sheets stuffed with saucy veggies and baked to perfection.Ravioli – It is originated as a traditional food in Italian cuisine and are commonly in square shape. At Capris, it is served in circular pasta sheets stuffed with nicely blanched spinach & ricotta cheese. Absolute divine and cheesy !Tiramisu and Strawberry Cheese Cake – Coming to an Italian restaurant and not bingeing into the desserts is a sin in itself. So we had their most popular desserts and each of them had distinctive relish. Both ice tea & mint lemon were enlivening and complemented well with the food. There also have various options for non vegetarians.I recommend each and every Italian cuisine lover to visit this place with friends and family.

A place that takes you to the small cafes in Italy. Aptly located at World Trade Center this 25+ years old restaurant in Dubai serves authentic Italian Food along with the perfect ambiance, music & feel of Italy. Wooden tables, white walls, frames, grapes hanging, pasta décor, red & white table cloth gives you a feel of an amazing time with your friends & family. We tried a variety of dishes here and all the below mentioned ones are absolute must haves:Mashed Potatos – creamest mix of potato & cheese whipped & baked with perfection. Just add a little pepper on the top and you are good to go with a glass of ice tea.Bruschetta – Honestly one of the bests in Dubai. Not your regular ones. They mix pesto sauce on the topping and lay it on the crispy bread. Fresh & amazing flavours coming out.Veg Pizza – These are authentic wooden oven made pizza, perfectly garnished with cheese & LOADS of VEGGIES that you can bite into. We love the thin crispy crust.Lasagna – layers of pasta, missed with crushed veggies, sauce & cheese. Baked perfectly well. Oozes a bundle of flavours & amazing to eat when served HOT!Ravioli – this is served in the form od a baked dish filled with flavourful spinach & ricotta cheese. I loved digging into this heaven.Tiramisu – this is perfect for those who love to have soft texture cake full with coffee & coco powder. I loved the flavours & the portion size.Cheese Cake – Biscuit crumbly crust with soft cheese & topped with strawberry. Loved it.Both ice tea & mint lemon were perfectly & freshly made and went well with the food. All in all, a must visit place. They also have a small part hall in the restaurant that would accommodate huge families. Do visit them, you will love them.

This Italian Restaurant first opened its doors in 1981, but its history actually goes back further to 1973 when it operated under a different name. Therefore, it is a must visit to experience a part of Dubais history. As the first pizzeria in the UAE, it has become popular as a casual, affordable, year round dining choice among the residents of Dubai. The restaurant offers Italian cuisine including its much loved thin crust pizzas. It also offers grilled steaks, seafood dishes, and other popular continental dishes. We ordered the Bolognese Lasagna and Pesto Ravioli (pics included). Both dishes were flavorful with the Lasagna being the favourite. Ive heard the thin crust pizza is the most popular choice, will keep that for next time. Oh yeah, dont forget to try the Capri Signature Bread for starters.Super easy to find parking, however do give them a call before going there during a weekend. It gets pretty packed and you might have to wait a bit. The interior has an old Italian charm. You feel like youre out of the middle East for a bit as you enjoy the Italian cuisine.

An old favorite among the residents of UAE for Italian food. I wouldn’t call it as pure Italian, some of the dishes have a desi touch to it. Their garlic bread with cheese and mashed potatoes with mushroom sauce is a must have! The pasta tasted a little bland though. The pizza was different with a crispy base compared to the usual soft ones that we are accustomed to eating. Their ambience inside is pretty cozy. Outdoor seating during the cooler months would be perfectly manageable. Parking fees is also taken care off by the restaurant.

Where do I begin with Capri?Even though Capri is said to be an Italian restaurant im sure a Chicken Tikka pizza or Tikka Indiana pizza hasnt hit the shores of Italy yet.I can tolerate bad food but what i cannot tolerate is bad service and capri is leading the ranks in terrible service.Capri showed up on our search when looking for deep dish pizza. They unfortunately dont serve it.Something about the restaurant was screaming Renovate but i cant quite put my hand on it.We didnt happen to make a reservation but the restaurant had only 2 tables occupied. We were taken to a table that had a gigantic hole in the middle which is by far the worst design of a table Ive seen till date. Its like there were some table designers thinking of how could they make an old fashion table while minimising usable space on it.I asked the server or manager (Never quite established her role) if we could move to a regular table. She didnt seem to enthralled and said she would check. She walked straight to the counter got a Reserved tag and placed it on the table and came back to me and said it was reserved. I mean for real if your going to lie to me. Do it when im not aware of what youre doing. We ordered some bruschetta and 2 pizzas that i frankly dont remember what they were called. The bruschetta was actually pretty good tasted really fresh. The pizzas on the other hand had crusts so hard. I tried to call my doctor to see if i could get reconstructive palate surgery.Jokes aside. This place needs some sprucing up. The decor would have worked well in the 90s but not in 2017.The staff needs to be trained or replaced with someone more experienced in handling customers.Until then im steering away from Capri.
