Consulate of Bulgaria is conveniently located near La Mer beach.No parking onsite and paid parking on Jumeirah Street or free parking in the roads on the back side or at La Mer beach if you don’t mind a 5 minutes walk. Advantage is that you then can have a coffee afterwards at one of La Mer outlets.Friendly and efficient staff.Great opening hours.Payment only possible in cash so alot of people will need to walk out to the nearby Emirates Islamic or Emirates NBD ATM to withdraw which is a bit of a nuisance nowadays and one would expect they would have upgraded to card payments during Covid .

I had read the reviews and I wasn’t expecting much, but I have communicated with the Bulgarian Consulate in Dubai on several occasions (by phone, email, and in person) and received a fast and polite service every time.

I have placed one star because I cannot select below one. I am Bulgarian, and I cannot accept that these people represent my country! Firstly, every question asked is answered as if they are bothered to do so, as if the customer should know and is unwelcomed there. Let me remind you ladies and gents that have been positioned to work there, if we dont need you, you are not needed here either. The working hours are another thing. Which embassy works from 9 till 1? Seriously, is this a holiday? Plus one extra day during the week, when they do not work with clients. Lastly, they have hang up on the phone on me at least three times so far. Just for inquiring about procedures..... Revolting, unacceptable, disgraceful attitude!

Over the past three years, every single time I call the consulate to ask a simple question, I get a very rude and disrespectful attitude for a response. Whoever answers the phone needs a good dose of attitude adjustment and customer service training. Extremely disappointed with this type of behaviour and will escalate this.

I’ll just start off by saying that I’m a Bulgarian. I have lived in the Middle East more than half of my life along with my family.Also for whatever reason you’re trying to contact the Bulgarian Council/Embassy, you’re better off contacting the one in Kuwait.The ignorance and incompetence is typical for most of us Bulgarians but that is specifically directed to you Mr. Yordan.I know you are there just to take salary and be borderline useless, but you are put there to help your people - just in case you didn’t know or realize that.

Where to start offFirst impression when you walk in you feel like you are in a public service from a Soviet Union country back in the 80’sThe employees are standing behind miniature sliding windows and you can barely see or hear them .....Feels like you are visiting in some kind of jail ...Also I was there and had to make payment for some services and they do not have a pos terminal for credit /debit cards and we are 2019 really ?so they only accept cashI had to run down the street to look for atm though ....

No one ever answers to the phone, if you have any question the answer of the Consulate is aways I dont know! So disappointing as a Bulgarian citizen the Embassy should be there in our help, but unfortunately the people working there are incompetent in their work! I really hope that all the stuff, together with the Consulate will be changed as soonest possible, otherwise there is no point for the Embassy to exist here in UAE !

The staff is great but i applied for visa 2 months ago and still under process which normally takes 15 working days I almost visited 30 times physically to embassy and called more than 20 times In my opinion if someone wants to apply for visa they should choose VFS over this embassy because u cant even track your visa here and in vfs you can

You can apply for the visa through the consulate no need to go to VFS and pay the extra fees, the people in the consulate are helpful and the service is great

I applied visa for Bulgaria through VFS Global. There charges are 250 + around 125 as there service charge. Had to visit to Bulgaria consulate in Dubai again for finger scanning and photo. Took 15 days to get the passports back from VFS with a rejected status. Reason: Purpose of travel and accomodation does not match. Applied again at Dubai Consulate with fresh set of documents and application forms with AED 350 each. Got visa on 3rd working day.Couple of points from my experience:1. Apply at the Consulate, its fast and low cost. No much of que. Even less time of waiting as compared to VFS. At one visit everything will be done.2. If it is for tourism purpose then apart from regular documents as required, dont forget the undermentioned.A. Provide a letter addressing to the Consulate with details of the date wise itinerary you have planned like what are the places you are travelling. If you have booked any tour from any operator then attach their itinerary and if any payment receipt then that too. If you have booked any vehicle and any email communication with them has to be attached. This is for all applications even for kids.B. Provide hotel Bookings only. Dont provide accomodation details of any hotel apartment or any vacation or holiday rentals or flats.3. Other regular documentsApplication form filledPassport copies- front, back and visa pageSalary certificate from employer with details of total salary and dates of travel being mentioned. ( for wife and kids NOC from your side with their application will do)Medical insurance (all applications)Bank statement for 3 months (One copy with your documents. No need for wife n kids)Return ticket (all applications)Hotel bookings (all applications)4. Additional Documents for wife n kidsa. NOC from your side that you dont have any objection for them travelling with you and you will be taking care of their expenses.b. Your passport copy with wifes applicationC. Both parents passport copies with kids application.D. To be signed by both parents in kids application.

The employees are very nice and helpful though need some training about certificate attestation

Exactly opposite Dubai Zoo on Jumeirah Road.The procedure gets done pretty quickly here - submit your documents, get clicked and biometrics, pay the visa fee and you are done. 👍 No need to go to VFS and pay their additional fees.

Very rude, unresponsive, unwilling to talk, assist and give information about any female employee answering the phone. In a nutshell, its extremely difficult to get any kind of service information. No use as if we didnt have an embassy. Working hours 3 hours a day. 😳
