An outstanding ophthalmology with hundreds of year’s legacy from MOORFIELDS LONDON!

Recently visited the place and came to know that the whole floor has the needs to fulfil a patients need like testing, consultation, surgery, pharmacy etc. Its 200+ years old, so you can just imagine the quality of services they can provide, all their doctors are specialised and have got years of experience.Right from the start - registration, initial tests and to the doctor, the staffs are with you, excellent services. Doctor who examined my eye (Dr. AVINASH) did tell the results are good and gave me an advise on how to take rests in between.Even I tested my sons eye as well since they are now into e learning and more screen time. Well it turned out his results are good and advised him to sleep for more than 10 hours.Thanks for taking care of us.

He makes it so easy to place all your trust in his hands! Nurse Angela is a pro at putting you at ease from the moment you walk in. I am nervous about people examining my eyes and she made it feel like a fun, relaxing experience, but at the same time, you can tell that she really knows what she is doing, taking thorough and detailed notes and asking all the right questions and being so caring.Thank you so much Moorfields, the entire experience from start to finish was so easy, so smooth, so positive and so efficient, you are just amazing and I am just one more grateful patient you can add to your long list!

Took my 5 and 7 year old for an eye test with Farah Ansari. Farah was absolutely brilliant, her calm manner made both the boys feel comfortable.She was very patient and thoroughly checked them. Would definitely recommend her for both adults and children

I have been visiting moorefileds Dubai for a few years now and Ive always been very happy. My last visit, last month, is when I met Zachary Cairns, he is an optometrist there. By chance he was doing my eye test as Dr Luisa was running late, and Im so glad she was running late. He went over and beyond with this appointment. He looked at my records and saw that I have an ongoing problem with one eye in particular. He took it on as his problem and proceeded to try and help by coming up with a few alternatives. By chance also today I was seeing Dr Luisa and I was informed that my trial lenses were in and ready for fitting. He managed to slot me in-between all his patients and fit the lenses, adjust the lenses and re try more lenses until he got it right.He has the kindness nature and is very personable. He takes a lot of time with his work which is so nice, it puts a lot of confidence in me.Im a very happy patient of Moorfields.

I consulted Dr. salman waqar for my eye pressure problem. Hes very kind and explain everything in detail and taking much care about his patient. I really like his consultation. Very good Dr. And the staffs are very helpful and friendly.

Cant give 0 starts for customer service...After being at the requested time for an appointment and waiting for more than 1h, I (as in me, the customer) had to go and ask what was the reason for the delay... no one clearly knew, but if I hadnt gone and ask, no one would also care and I would be kept waiting.So I left, happy to know that at least they didnt take my money/insurance.Plenty of eye hospitals in Dubai. This one? Not going back, thats for sure.

I visited Moorfield Eye Hospital with my family. The services and facilities were top class . A special mention to Dr Farah Ansari who was meticulous and thorough in her examination and put my family especially the kids at ease.

I have visited the Moorfields Eye Hospital early in the day and I genuinely want to leave a written review here, because I have been to few hospitals/clinics in Dubai and this place is just different.I would start with the fact that it doesn’t feel like a hospital in the first place, plus they have just renovated so it got a well deserved upgrade!I felt welcomed from the start, the staff is very nice, attentive and helpful in case you need any assistance or clarification plus I didn’t feel left behind, lost and neither had to wait more than I am required for my appointments. Everything went smooth and I know we don’t get to say this often, but I quite enjoyed my time in there, the nurse made me laugh so it was very relaxed atmosphere and Doctor Luisa M. Sastre was overall just impressive! Extremely patient, knowledgeable and attentive, a professional!Let’s wrap it up by saying I took the best decision to visit Moorfields Eye Hospital and I am extremely satisfied with all the services! Highly recommend it!

I have had trouble with my vision for as long as i can remember, i visited tons of ophthalmologist but was always turned down due to lack of advancement in technology or research for my condition. From the very first visit, Moorfields was really promising, a special shout out to Mr. Zachary Cairns, he was extremely patient, with my issue of irregular cornea, getting the right fit for the lens took longer than one can imagine, thanks to Zach for not giving up and striving for the best solution for my vision and making sure I was 100% comfortable. I strongly recommend Moorfields Eye Hospital for any eye complications big or small.

Had two Zeiss IOLs successfully implanted one week apart by Dr Miguel and the medical team. Seemless administrative and medical process, cataract surgery was painless under local anaestesia and short, a bit involving but painless 5-week-long aftercare of eye drops with regular checkups at hospital, amazing vision improvement from day one. Generally high quality service, all the more delivered with kindness. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr Miguel and Moorfields Dubai.

I have just finished what was supposed to be a check up at the Moorfields Eye Hospital. Total time with the so called Doctor was 1 minute 30 seconds and I was invited to visit the cashier. I tried to ask for an explanation to the nurses and again to the cashier with no luck. I wanted to understand what the visit should have included and got no answer whatsoever. I have been doing eye check ups for the past 40 years in different countries and never have I encountered such a lack of professionalism and care. Rest assured that they were very careful with the billing. Never again.

It’s been 6 months post my LASIK operation, and I keep thinking why did I take this long to decide to do it. I had the best experience at Moorfields. Each member of the staff pre, during and post operation were absolutely amazing; compassionate, attention to details, patient, knowledgeable… just perfect. Highly recommended.

I flew in from Maldives for an appointment on 28-06-2021, quite concerned that my left eye was very blurred and no matter what drops I used it wouldnt clear up. Quite distressing as the eye care center in Male couldnt find anything wrong with the lens, and suggested that I may have a problem with the optic nerve. Very worrying indeed.Moorfields Dubai was recommended to me by my brother who used to live in Dubai, so I emailed for an urgent appointment and received a reply within 5 mins. I went straight to the airport and jumped on a flight!When I arrived, it became quickly apparent that I was in a very professionally run establishment, and I was whisked through various tests and to a consultation with Dr. Salma Waqar.He immediately put me at ease, and suggested we do a small procedure with laser.My appointment was the next morning at 09.00, and after a short wait for the eye drops to dilate the pupils, Dr. Salman called me through for the procedure, which took literally only a few minutes each eye, without any discomfort whatsoever.Within one hour of this, the drops started to wear off, and my vision cleared. A few hours later, I already had perfect vision restored. It was like being reborn and now my world has changed immensely.I would strongly recommend Moorfields Dubai to anyone who needs quick and professional help with their vision, with a special mention to Dr. Salman Waqar, who obviously loves what he does and is an expert in his profession, and will put you immediately at ease with his gentle and professional manner.It should also be mentioned how professional and kind all the other staff were as I was guided very quickly through registration and on to all the tests that they conducted.Thanks to you all and you will see me again soon, but this time with my wife so that you can hopefully help her vision also.

I went for a vision exam and contact lense fitting. Dr Zach was very thorough and patient. I found him to be one of the best ophthalmologists I’ve been to in a long time, very knowledgeable and approachable for questions. I was so happy I took my 6 year old son there the next day. Dr Zach was on his day off so we saw Dr Eden who was also very good. Overal a great experience!

I received excellent and professional care here during diagnosis, surgery and follow up care after the surgery. I had a surgery to correct double vision (diplopia or binocular vision) after suffering for almost a year. I got normal vision restored and greatly improved my quality of life. I couldn’t thank enough to the surgeon Dr DK and orthoptist Sehar as well as Dr Luisa for referring me to the right persons at Moorefields Eye Hospital. I had a chalazion and visited Dr Alia Issa, who was excellent. She referred me to Dr Salam Waqar, also excellent, who managed to fit in a surgical appointment the same day. All very quick and painless. All explained very clearly throughout. All very professional. Fantastic guidance afterwards with regard to aftercare. Thoroughly recommend.

I went to Moorefields Eye Hospital after 3 years of consultations with several doctors that were uncertain about operating on me. I was consulted and operated on by Dr. Qaseim Nasser. I will confidently say that the experience was incredible. I felt safe and thankfully have had my quality of life improved after the surgery. Dr. Nasser was professional and a great communicator, and I would 100% recommend being consultant and treated by him.

Just wanted to add to my previous review but this time with a special mention to the Moorfield Optics. After my eye exam, I went to the new optical centre within Moorfield Hospital to choose some new glasses. The service/attention from Sameer Alsalhi was outstanding. Very competitive prices, excellent advice and good selection of glasses to choose from. I would not look to go anywhere else. Thank you Sameer!

Today for the first time I met Dr. Osama, very nice doctor and very respectful and knowledgable. He answered all my questions and concerns with a big smile, I felt comfortable to tell him abt my pain and walked out his office really feeling good abt the visit. I was also taken care of by very helpful gentlemen Mr. Abdelrahman and Mr. Zeeshan who were very supportive and friendly although we all had to wait almost an hour for insurance approval. I appreciate their patience with me considering it was the last one hour of their duty.All the team members at reception and payment desk are very very niceThe only comment I have abt today is that I had to wait sometime to see the nurse to check my vision, then more time to get her notes, in total I spent around 25 mints before my file reached the doctor and the place was empty when I arrived. As a patient I don’t like to wait that long to see a doctor and I don’t see the waiting time justified. During the check up I was asked several questions which I don’t see it related to my eyes or health and honestly I don’t appreciate the system that collects personal data for marketing purposes. Question such as are you married or single are irrelevant and it is not mandatory by DHA to be asked. If you wish to get more information abt the patient you need to give them a form and it is up to them if they want to answer, but asking them face is face is awkward and we reserve the right not to answer questions which are not related to our medical case. Saying that, the nurses were very friendly and they were only following what they were asked to follow. I rated you five stars as an appreciation for the team kindness, respect and tolerance that I experienced today

Following a comprehensive eye examination and new spectacles prescription provided by Zachary Cairns, I purchased new Oakley spectacles direct from Moorfields Optics. Samer, the General Manager, provided a fantastic service in exploring the options available to me and provided a fair price for designer frames with thin lenses. The spectacles were ordered on Saturday and were made avaliable for collection the following Tuesday. I would highly recommend Zachary Cairns for eye examinations/prescriptions and Samer Alsalhi for new spectacles.

Had a great experience here. I came to get my eyesight checked and for dry eyes. Eden and Taiseer (optometrists) were great, very thorough and warm. I also saw dr Osama to check on my dry eyes and he was very nice too. The hospital is organized and clean. Would definitely recommend based on today’s experience.

Quick to swipe your card and collect your money, as for the service, a lot of improvement to do.I think they forgot that at the end they are dealing with patients, not selling carpets in the market.No one sends the medical reports after the test, they’re quick to schedule you for surgery (lasik), you show up - no one is there yet.Totally cold and unprofessional.It’s a factory not a clinic.I’m glad I walked away.

The staff are so amazing specially Mr. Abdelrahman. I can trust what they say and not fear the classic. The staff really seems to care and take an interest in what is going on. The doctor takes his time answering any questions and never makes you feel rushed or that youre burden being there. I am so glad to have you guys!

Moorfields helped me with my corneal problem that i had since 2014, Dr. Zach suggested me for contact lenses that helped my vision and im really happy for the results.

Had Femto LASIK surgery and the doctors and nurses walked me through every step. I was scared at first but it wasnt as scary as it seemed. They follow up regularly after the surgery as well!

I visited many hospitals and option shops in the last 35 years. But yesterday when I went to Moorfields Eye Hospital I found a real treasure. Zachary Cairns is literally the best and the most caring Optometrist (Lens specialist) that I have ever seen. He is young and passionate in his work and he doesn’t care how long of his time he has to put in but makes sure his patient get exactly what he came for and even more.If you are using contact lenses I highly recommend you to go and see Zachary. You might think you have a lens and it fits but when you go to Zack you will discover the world of lenses.

The whole experience was first class from start to finish.You are welcomed and looked after from reception and appointments, right through to all of the different tests and finally surgery. Wonderful experience and I would highly recommend.

If I could give this place a negative star I would. This place is negligent and should be avoided at all costs as they didn’t realize a patient with extreme floaters and flashing lights had a retinal detachment which is a medical emergency that can lead to blindness. If you want to maintain your vision DO NOT go to this hospital and see Dr Avinash Gurbaxani (he shouldn’t even hold this title) as instead of treating a medical emergency of a torn retina, he dismissed her concerns and told my mum she simply had excess oil in her eyes, and that she should clean it out with eye soap and hot towels. Thank god she went to another clinic the next day that took her in for emergency surgery or the consequences could have been horrific. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR EYES.

I would like to thank Dr. Dk for giving us her precious time although it was a very busy day but still she accepted us without having an appointment. This shows her professional behavior and concern related to her patients. Pharmacy was very polite in explaining medicines and the cashiers was quick to finish. Having been a patient of Moorfields London, I was concerned that I wouldnt find such a good eye hospital when I moved to the Gulf. However my concerns were allayed when I found out that Moorfields had opened in Dubai. I needed special contact lenses to overcome both my keratoconus and high astigmatism and was duly prescribed special sclera contacts that so far have been brilliant in terms of comfort and vision. Zachary Cairns, the optometrist, who attended to me was absolutely fantastic and I would definitely recommend both him and Moorfields in general. Thanks Zach.

Some doctors are very good while some are very unprofessional. At our first visit last year, a young optometrist gave TOTALLY wrong prescription to the 5 yo child WITHOUT DOING ANY TEST!Despite my request to do a test he told its not required and he already knows. After few month only we have noticed that the glasses are not helping. Few months the child was wearing wrong glasses!!! Another test with different optometrist confirmed that previous prescription was totally wrong.Another thing today - a guy called himself Kamal was very unprofessional on conversation and making appointments. I felt like ordering groceries from Madina supermarket:(

Very bad, we had to wait a very long time for our appointment (for eye test only!!), it’s Ramadan and we are fasting, I’m pregnant and my father is an elderly citizen, other people who came after us were going in and we still had to wait!!

I visited the hospital for a consultation with doctor Safar and was very much impressed by the professionalism and the quality of the services from the receptionist up to the doctors.Highly recommended

They charged me 200 AED for 1 contact lens which cost 20 AED in store.The doctor was excellent and knowledgeable, however the rip off charges for 1 bandage contact lens (200 AED $55 ) makes me decide I will never recommend this hospital to anyone. I will not return either. 👎

I am a regular patient at Moorfields hospital and I strongly believe it is the best place to visit if you have any eye problems. They have the best doctors in town with great experience and amazing “bedside” manners. Dr. Ammar Safar is my doctor and he is amazing in every aspect. Explains very clearly and has a very impressive medical and surgical experience on top of being very polite and respectful.I read some of the reviews about the hospital being after your money only and can not disagree more! I have been going to Moorfields for 7 years and they are anything but commercial and have never made me or any of my family feel that they are after money. In fact on several occasions when we had Insurances switched they saw me and treated me while taking care of sorting out the insurance updates and never denied my care.I think we are very lucky to have such amazing hospital to take care of our eye health with this level of experience and professionalism in the UAE. Easy procedure to access the consultation of Doctor. Less waiting time was experienced. Parking would be complicated in the health care city, sometimes.

Meanwhile when I also reviewed the profile of Dr. Luisa M. Sastre available at Moorfields hospital then I decided to visit Moorfields hospital.During my visit I found Dr. Luisa very helping and friendly and gave me confidence & moral support. As I went under treatment of Dr. Luisa she examined my eyes thoroughly and recommended me for Cataract Surgery. She also told me rest of the things in eyes are fine like Retina, Optic Nerve etc. after thorough examination. So, I decided to go for cataract surgery Dr. Luisa and anesthesia specialist and operation theatre staff was very cooperative. Inside the operation theatre, staff was very much cooperative and helped me a lot. Around 20 minutes later after surgery I was 100% fine with my eyes and went back to home happily . Dr Amar Safar have done a vitreous hemorrhage surgery in my right eye and it was successful and the results were very good aside from that the staff and the nurses are professional and well trained, they do take good care of the patients.Although Moorfieldes eye hospital is a bit expensive specially for people who don’t have insurance cover.I want to thank Dr Amar Safar again and others for there service.

One week ago today I arrived at this hospital with a serious eye problem.The service and care I have received since then have been outstanding, and having lived and worked all over the world, I do not take that for granted.The professionalism shown by every member of the team I have encountered - across all disciplines - has been exemplary. It is clear that in this organisation the professionals who work there expect high standards from themselves as individuals and from each other, and as a result for their patients.To all the colleagues at Moorfields who have assisted me so far - they include Carlos, Rosa, Cherry, Kristina, Tasneen, Latifa, Kamla, Dianalyn, Zainab, Umer, and Drs. It was good to be treated with professionalism and care. When I say the doctor and all the other employees of the Moorfield made me feel that I was in safe hands and you can believe they are the bestI was suffering from eye problems for couple of years and were not identified the main cause of disease.I visited many Drs but problem was getting increased rather than curing. I had a check up appointment at 12:00 and was admitted to the doctor only at 01:30 I appreciate the doctors and services are good here but waiting 1.5 hours just for a check up is quite unacceptable.

I got my Femto Lasik done last week at Moorfields Dubai by Dr. Osama Giledi and it is perhaps the best decision I have taken. Dr. Giledi is clearly an expert in the area and was very reassuring and patient while answering all our queries. The management of the process on the day of the surgery was perfect and the instructions and care provided was top notch. Carlo and the discharge nurse (unfortunately forget her name) were also really kind and very very good at their job. I want to thank Dr. Osama for such an amazing job and taking care of what has been a life changing event for me :)

Further to our recent cataract surgery, we highly recommend the entire professional team comprising of the excellent ophthalmologist, Dr. Mustafa, anaesthetist, Nina Regenbogen, theater staff Carlo, Karina and a special thanks to Rose who took extra care to look after us throughout. Vision is now perfect, recovery fast and painless. The facilities and service were of the highest standard.

Strongly not recommending this hospital. They want you to keep coming to them and keep paying them forever. My wife is visiting this hospital for last 2 years and still her problem is not solved although they did a cataract surgery as well which I paid out of my pocket as my wife insurance is not covering this hospital. Moreover, I paid every visit for last 2 years 500 per month out of my pocket. I will not mention here the doctor name for now but if my wife would not get cured, I Will complain in health authority and will go legally against this hospital.

I recently visited Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai, on a referral from my doctor, as I experienced a change in one of my eyes. My appointment was with Dr Luisa Sastre, who is a retina specialist.Her thorough examination confirmed my retina was healthy in both eyes, however she did spot a potential unrelated issue and recommended additional tests that were booked for the following day. This examination revealed I did have another condition requiring treatment, which if left untreated could have a negative impact on my vision in the future. Dr Sastre prescribed the appropriate medication, and also suggested that if I wished, I could also see another consultant at Moorfields, to discuss other options for the treatment on my condition. Based on my experience, I have no reservation in highly recommending Dr Luisa Satre.I accepted the option to speak to the other consultant, Dr Sohaib Mustafa, and elected an alternative procedure which had to be performed by him due to his speciality. I was equally impressed and would also recommend Dr Mustafa without reservation.My entire experience at Moorfieds was extremely positive. I was not only able to be examined by specialists in their fields, but I felt that I was given the opportunity to get instant second opinions to help make me more comfortable with the clear information given to me. As well as the specialists I saw, everyone else from the admin staff to the nurses I dealt with were all extremely professional and it was very easy to arrange appointments.

Very good place for treatment we visiting Moorfields for more than one year, all the staff are great especially the pharmacist Muhammad Nawaz, He helps us very much in every time and makes extra efforts to help us even with booking appointments which is not his job.The hospital is well equipped and they have very good experience in treating patients.

I had an eye infection and went to see Dr. Luisa M. Sastre. She was very nice and helpful. But I had to wait a long time for my turn to come, even when I had taken an appointment. So expect some waiting time, depending on the doctor. Also consultation fee is high.

Had a fantastic experience - had the LASIK procedure done and was treated by Dr Osama Giledi. I found the entire process (from pre-op consultation to booking to after-op care) to be efficient and very professional. Highly recommend!

The staff were very friendly .. the lady who did the eye test for my daughter was extremely professional and know how to deal with kids .. and dr.namir give us all the information and explained for us every thing in a great way .. i would highly recommend them

UPDATE:A few months ago I was contacted by Ms. Maha from Moorfields and she had been very patient and helpful. I was called again for the fitting without any extra cost to me except for the scleral contact lenses. My eyes were tested again for the fitting and were ordered. The contacts arrived within 5weeks. I really appreciate Turning the bad incident to a good one.Previously: Extremely inefficient!! Ive been having issue with them since 2017. They ask for full payment upfront and make patient come again and again with no results. I finally got through when I made noise. And now they are holding my money and keep telling me today or tomorrow but Im not getting my refund back. I dont have my scleral contacts and no money. I had to pay them full in advance, in August, while I was traveling to get the order through and they kept blaming the supplier. Even for being a regular patient I wasnt given and exception. I was promised refund on 8th december and its 23rd now and no sign of refund. I keep getting excuses that paperwork needs to be done.
