Monk has been a favorite for many years now and safe to say that theyve still maintained their quality. The prices are fair for the portions served. Though I should add, given the limited seating options, it is ideal for small groups. I would like to highlight their chicken thai red curry which is a favorite. Its comfort food served on a plate. I would highly highly recommend it to anyone who seeks a delicious indo chinese restaurant in Dubai.
There crispy chicken with crispy spinach is a must try. Food quantity is enough for 2-3 people/plate, so its value for money. Food taste is really good. Food quality is good and fresh. Szechuan fried rice and Chicken hot and sour soup is really yummy! Because of Covid, now they are serving in thermocol plates and separate packed plastic spoons and forks. I found all the Mont restaurants are always cleaned whenever I have visited.
This is my friends favourite hang out spot.I think this is is the only authentic Chinese restaurant in Dubai so far. They have Chinese chefs, so the taste of food is exquisite and highly recommended. They have generous portions and always serve food fresh. The staff are courteous and polite. Will definitely keep on coming back here with my friends. For the price I have no complaints but for those foodies out there, the sauce with the chicken pepper was good . The chicken although delicious wasn’t crispy. It must be said that this is absolutely nit picking and trying to remain a non bias view. This is a great Chinese restaurant with some authentic food and even more authentic service and prices that will make you think you’re back home.
Tucked away in Karama didnt know this place existed till a friend introduced me. Definitely the food was good but was it worth the price we paid need to think about it. Worth a try.
- Fried and steamed dumplings - tasty but pricy.- Chicken crispy spinach - Not bad, average- Hot n Sour chicken Soup - good quantity and good taste.- prawns tempura - okay, nothing special- chicken fried rice- average.Polite staff but needs to improve their communication ability.
If you love Chinese food, this place is a must visit. The Crispy Chicken Spinach is the best and one of the best selling too good. The price is very reasonable too! And if you love Indian sweets, you can just walk across the street and have your dessert there. And the Monk is a place we keep going back every time we visit Dubai !
This place for Indo-Chinese lovers (Not much authentic chinese). Tastes good, staff is bit slow but ok to manage. Prices are average and justified with quantity. Their crispy chicken appetizer is awesome (worth trying). For Medium spicy food Make sure you should order Less spicy then only you will manage to eat.Food ****Service ***Ambience ****Price ****
Another gem in Karama for Indo Chinese cuisine ordered dinner tonight ,we ordered vegetables with spinach Steam dumplings, Path thai noodles and Chicken manchurian, arrived well in time hardly 30-35 minute. Dumplings were ok vegetables with spinach was good, manchurian was excellent.Quantity was more than sufficient. Overall another good place .
I was visiting Dubai on a business trip staying in the Hotel near by. I came to this restaurant by reading the reviews first, they seemed to be ok.The overall experience and food was ok, but I wouldn’t say restaurant worthy more like fast food in a mallThe branding is nice upon walking in (table mats), nobody really greats you upon walking in and it took 5 minutes to get a menu or before someone came to me and I was the only customer.I wanted to have beef and broccoli and asked for some chilli flakes on the side and guy insisted on “no, our spicy beef is better.”It did not have much taste, the beef is not seasoned before cooking or frying it.They need to fry the beef first with some seasoning and then add the sauce and cook itThe sauce did not have much flavor eitherThe service was slow....but okay and I was the only customer in the restaurant
Food is just OK. But you may find better options in karama. I m a fan of Chinese dishes and I didnt find the food really so great.
Crispy chicken was soggy. However, dumpling and the Mongolian pot noodles was average
I give 1 star for restaurant maintaince.Washrooms are not maintained well.Food wise its the best for Chinese cuisine.Bit expensive.
As always service is excellent and soul was really good.Tried Thai fried rice for the first time but not so happy.
Used to be great but seems like something is lacking lately. Hope they get their lost sheer back and ace their quality again.
Quality food every single time, never disappoints, competitive prices.
Very tasty chinese food found there..Everything was delicious but crispy prawns with fired spinach is a must have😍
Ordered steamed dumplings and served the one directly from the fridge. Momos was cold and got really disappointed.
The food hardly had any flavour and the noodles looked as if it was cooked in a rush. Its overly priced for average food. Better places can be found in qusais. The washrooms were not clean and we were served in styro foam plates but not sure is thats the regulations.
This is a really good restaurant and I very much agree to eat at this place. Food is amazing with a lot of variety. It is a bit on the costly side but it is worth the really good Chinese food you get here.
Amazing food. Very nice and professional staff.. small place but food is sooo fresh and tasty
Crispy spinach chicken is a must try, also american chopsueyThe seving portions are big so order accordingly
OK restaurant worth a visit
We used to go here very often, but for the past 4 to 5 visits the foods taste is pathetic. On top of that they have now increased the prices. Not worth. The food just tasted like rice with salt.
Awesome taste.
Nice food. Loved it.
Amazing food with excess quantity. 👍
Terrible customer service. The waiter had no interest what so ever in his job. Taking 10 steps to the kitchen to enquire about food allergens with the chef is a herculean task for the waiters here!!
Good and tasty food
Good food with good ambiance.
Nice food really authentic and the customer service is five star.
Quite a nice restaurant. Good consistency across dishes . Would recommend
Food and service 5/5, nothing negative to add, the selection of drinks is quite short but it compensates with a broad variety of dishes. Try sirloin thai curry...the meat was cooked to the perfect tenderness point 👌🏻. Totally recommended. Two people, share dish, one main course each + rice with seafood to share + a drink each for less than 40 bucks and we were full (two guys)
We love their food .. but had bad experience with the seating arrangement.. gave us corner seat for 6 adults with 2 infants in stroller. We asked for a better place to be comfortable. Situation was Very poorly handled by everyone until we forced ourselves to arrange the table..anyway food was good like always..
Monk is a great Indo Chinese experience overall. Value for money, good portions of food and tasty too. Staff maintains proper etiquette and decor, ambience is good if not extremely Porsche. It not very big mind you so there are chances that it may be full and sadly they do not make reservations. A recommended food spot for a family dinner and perhaps with friends.
One of my favorite places to visit. I absolutely love this place. I always come here whenever i want to eat chinese. The interior is amazing and homey. I felt at home there. And the food was amazing. I cant even describe how tasty the food was. Whenever you visit UAE i recommend that you go for this restaurant
Starters are good.. Tried chicken soup and chicken fry with spinach. Really good
Nice soup...
Very tasty food
Food was ok the portion size are huge
The food is over priced for the value and quantity
I discovered this place in DSO and thought to try it! I dont regret it one bit!The food is delicious, the service is great and I have even recommended it to everyone I know and they also have loved it! I have dined there many times and have ordered a couple of times and both ways, I never had any problems. The best part of the food is when you store it in the fridge overnight, the oil in the food does not grow into solids which explains that the food was freshly prepared and cooked.Favourites are the Thai Curry & the noodles - keep it up!You are on my favourite list of Asian foods :)
Nice Indian mix Chinese food. Not too much space in side the restaurant but service is good. i visited 3rd time, taste is not same it changed, may be cook changed. but overall it is good. value of money.
Tasty and great food:) chicken fried rice can be more interesting by putting more veggies:)
This indo-chinese restaurant heavily relies on Indianish flavours and masalas. Also lacks consistency.
One of the best indo chinese restaurant in Dubai. Good portion as well
Definitely one of the best indo-Chinese restaurant in town.
Been here multiple times, whenever craved for chinese. Good Chinese restaurant with indian touch to it. the menu is done considered mostly for indian pallets. Hence will not be calling it a traditional chinese restaurant.Located in multiple places Monk covers vast area, they also do home delivery. One of my favorite are crispy chickenWhats good about the place1. Ample of parking2. Quick service3. Easy menuWhats not good1. Summer the ac is not sufficient2. Interior has to be reworkd
I had been there last Friday. Food is horrible.
Excellent food as quality n quantity
I have had better at the Monk
I simoly loved the crispy spinach chicken , it was such a delight to my tummy. Used to always have lunch on Fridays from the Monk. Love this place and the food there :)
Horrible. The Schezwan fried rice was just with red chilies. Chicken fried rice was simply bland and there Manchuria was nothing but chicken fried and dumped in soya with some garlic sauce. Hated it. Don’t waste money.
Cheap food. BEAUTIFUL QUALITY. SUPPPPPER fast service. And most importantly, the portioning is Fabulous!!! Well done guys seriously. I havent loved a restaurant in dubai in so long. The dumplings steamed were gorgeous. The monk vegetarian soup was mesmerising maaaaaan!. And omg the noodles are wonderfully cooked. Not over cooked nor under cooked, but just perfect. The clay pot noodles we tried were amazing. We will definitely definitely come back again and again. Thank you also for the great customer service. We appreciated every moment of experience at this place. Thank you for the great food.
Good food for people who prefer indo Chinese. Small joint, full during weekends. Service is good.
Worst Chinese food I ever had
Visited this place after checking out online menu, huge disappointment. The cuisine is neither Indian, Chinese or Thai🙃The momos were ordinary and must say I have tasted better momos on the street! We ordered seafood Phadthai noodles - tasted like cheap copy of Pad Thai. The curry was like vegetables cooked in thick blend of soya sauce and cornflour. No flavors to go back to.. ☹️☹️☹️
Veg food was kind of ok. No idea about non veg food items. Decent ambience. Decent service.
Best Beef and Chicken food available in the City....should try...u will love it
Food taste was okay ...
The Monk is the ideal place to enjoy Indo- Chinese food. The food is delicious. Most recommended dishes are the Manchow soup, chilly paneer, chilly chicken and mixed Hanna noodles.
Starters are good. Specially chicken soup and chicken with spinach
The best place in the neighbourhood for Chinese cuisine, tasty food with good quantity and reasonable price. Definitely will visit again
The best food and service
Decent food and appropriately priced. But needs to add more choice of drinks (fresh juices).
I wouldnt deny the food is very good and quantity of portions does justice too. But when you mention the restaurant opens at 12pm then it rather be opened else do not mention the same. The problem lies only with the Karama branch and is totally annoying as other branches will not take orders as well. To top it all when you call the landline its eternally busy. If you do not intend business please do not mention details and timings. Rather you mention your operation timings as As we wish.
Good food..
Great food. Good proportions.
Excellent food. Good service. Would definitely visit again.
Good indo-chinese dishes
Authentic ChineseGood Quantity
Yummy food, Good quantity, small seating space. But worth it 👍 the chicken Woolly is a must try.
Must eat here Chicken crispy and Chicken Thai curry with plain rice 🍚...It’s just delicious 😋
Extremely delicious Chinese food!! love the Tomyum soup. Bamboo rice is full of flavors. Great service and home delivery too.
I have never been there, normally i do delivery, it comes fast you don’t have to wait too much, the food is really good, beef, orange chicken, very good place
Great food. Really good price
These guys do not want any customers. When we went in the AC wasnt working so we asked for one of the coolers out of the two coolers that were given to one of the tables. They straight away refused instead of arranging sonething and make us sit and make us feel confortable. Guess they have lot of loyal customers and make good profit which explains why they are least bothered about new customers. They werent even apologetic for their behaviour. The staff is very rude and the service is bad. Never going in again.
Nice food. A little tooo salty but nice
Food was good but too much noise.
I did not like the survice and the lemon coriander soup was very spicy
I ordered for chicken schezwan fried rice and I was served mutton schezwan fried rice. I do not eat mutton so I had to sleep empty stomach. This is ridiculous and this place sucks. I cannot post images otherwise to prove I could also post images.
A must try place. Great food and even good delivery service!
Good food... great service ..value for money
Referred by cousin..My first visit..liked their food..crispy chicken with spinach very tasty..
Cramped Place. Cooling is not good and you get to smell everything whats being cooked in kitchen.
Good food good service
Delicious food with decent service.Good quantity of food
