A nice cozy restaurant in Dubai Mall LG. We ordered a few to share, good portion and reasonably priced. The dumplings are highly recommended. Loved the crispy noodle salad too. There are a lot variety in the menu and will definitely go back to try the other stuff.

The duck bao tastes fresh and juicy. The XLB skin is moderate, soup is tasty but the sesame oil taste is a bit too overpowering, can lower down the qty of sesame oil. The hot and sour soup can lower the salt content a bit. But overall, good choice to go in Dubai if you are craving for dumplings.

Amazing food and fabulous service! Tried it for the first time and I would very much recommend! Forgot to take the pictures of the dumplings, but they were awesome as well! Surely recommended!

Its inside Dubai mall. The Lava shrimps was awesome in starter. Crispy Chili chicken was spicy and have red spices. Hot n sour soup was ok not much hot. Stir fried noodles are awesome. Price 4/5 Ambience 4/5 Food 4/5 ( Specially rating for Lava shrimps)

Hidden gem in the LG corridor of other restaurants! Food taste and quality can surely compete with PF Chang across it or Din Tai Fung at the end to towards the Burj. Their specialty is their dumplings, but the main courses are also good!Good and friendly service!

Can i just point out that this place is the only one known to me in Dubai who know how to serve braised eggplant. I was super elated to figure that out - the dish is called spicy crispy eggplant. One love!

I ate only shrimp.I will not order next time.I ordered jasmine tea for relaxation, but I didnt have a tea strainerBoth jasmine flowers and leaves go into the cup.Chef ... New Shanghai is a hidden Treasure in Dubai Mall. My Wife and I have been here a couple of time, and which every dish you choose it is great. It has good pricing and exceptionally friends staff. They will take care of, like you have never been taken care of. I can highly recommend this place. We will come again!

Ordered Szechuan Beef and Duck Gua Bao..the Szechuan Beef tasted good but the presentation could be improved..the Duck Bao also tasted good though it was dry and the presentation also could be improved (large slices of cucumber dominated the bao)...otherwise, ambience and customer service were great..

Had a family lunch on a Friday afternoon. Appreciate the privacy and social distancing that was maintained among fellow diners. Lovely service, delectable food and casual ambience. Loved the fragrant crispy duck and XO fried rice served as a main course. A little patience in getting the cheque would be required when there is a customer overload. BTW it didnt create a hole in the pocket for the 6 dishes enjoyed by the 4 of us.

We were at Dubai Mall craving for some Xao Long Bao and Wonton soup, and New Shanghai nailed it! The soup bowl was big enough for two, the dumplings were juicy and it wasnt pricy at all. Unfortunately we had to leave before we had a chance to try more..

I was looking for a Asian cuisine restaurant to have dinner with my family after knowing that my favourite Thai restaurant was fully reserved , so I decided to try this Chinese restaurant . As I arrived I was told that the seat were full and I would have to wait as my name was on the waiting list I agreed as I understood that the restaurant was busy and not all seats could be occupied due to social distancing regulations , I waited for about 20 minutes then I was finally seated . Me and my family ordered a bunch of meals but sadly barely any of them tasted good , the spring rolls were tasty and I liked them , but the Shanghai stir fried vegetable noodles were very dull the cattiest were thickly sliced which made it hard to eat with the noodles the sauce didn’t really go well with the type of noodle , the Mongolian beef was fine the meat was very soft to my liking didn’t have much taste but the sauce on it was nice . The crispy duck was also okay tasting overall the quality of food was similar to a Chinese fast food restaurant you would find in a food court . Wasn’t bad but I wouldn’t eat there again .

An authentic chinese and better than some famous chinese restaurants. We have tried number of dishes, soups and starters and have found to be great. The only item i didnt like was their beef dish as it was too dry.

The beef brisket was nice and super tender! Loved the crispy lava prawns. Which are a little distinct from PF Changs famous dynamite prawns given that these were crispier.

Good food although some of the dishes more fusion than authenthic shanghai food. Prices typical mall prices. Service fast and friendly.

Have tried their lunch set menus many times. Kong pao chicken, chilli chicken, ma po tofu, hot sour soup, green beans, xiao long bao. All were tasty. Never disappointed although their level of spicy was rather low. Always ask for chilli oil on the side if you prefer it spicy🙂

My personal opinion, the atmosphere is nice being inside Dubai Mall and the staff are so welcoming and helpful especially when choosing dishes that we didnt know about. The photos of food in my review are what we ordered and all are delicious except for the noodles, we expected better taste. The price are fair again being inside Dubai Mall.

I loved this retaurant a lot and i had dynamite shrimps for appitizer and corn chicken soup in addition to sweet and sour chicken with kung pao chicken for main dish. Everything was extremly yummy and would give it 10/10 for taste. I would love to come back again offcourse.

Nice place in the dubai mall. The dishes are half-way good: chicken dumplings, spring rolls and kung-pao chicken were all half-way good. Only exception: the truffle dumplings that were amazing. The service is very good.

Genuinely good food true to its origins.The Truffle Chicken Xiao Bao were totally worth the trip alone ! Not to be missed.Also the Eggplant and Portobello Bao. A surprisingly effective combination served with aplomb!

Came here because if the high reviews online despite my reservations but as expected it was not authentic Chinese food at all but what do you expect given the location. The food was edible but for the most part not tasty, only thing I enjoyed was the hot and sour soup. The menu is massively overpriced, service was good.

Love the place. Love the staff. The Chinese new year special menu had the most amazing truffle dumplings. They must continue that. Even through they have a limited but fair vegetarian selection. I keep going back there for more.

Good services and Ok dim sum. Both the spicy chicken and eggplants are not authenticate dishes youd think you are ordering, way too oily and lack of real flavour, just finished with a mouthful of deep-fry oil... wouldnt try again...

When I went up and asked the hostess if the restaurant used MSG ( I am very allergic to that spice.), she said they do. We started to walk away and she told us that they can make the dishes without it. We assumed that most of the dishes could be made without MSG. Wrong! When we sat down and got our water, we found out that was not the case. They can make only one or two dishes without MSG. All of the appetizers like the soups all have MSG. So we ordered edemame. After a few minutes, the waiter suggested an item that was not on the menu they could make fresh. It was simply a type of tempura battered shrimp in a corn starch garlic/ ginger infused sauce. It was delicious.Everything in the end turned out to be tasty . I gave the low rating because on the misunderstanding. I have to be very careful not to have that spice. I was upset because the hostess said one thing and it was something very different.The prices are very steep. The portion sizes vary. The steam rice bowl was smaller than was indicated to us by the waiter. It is not enough for 2 people.

Went there for iftar, the offer was so underrated. You will eventually get way more for what you paid. The food is really good. So overall the experience was nice, good food, and very well priced. 100aed for a welcome a drink, free water, soup, starter, main dish, deserts and tea. Thats epic

We ordered 2 soups, 2 main dishes, 2 dumplings, drinks and desserts.Corn soup and wanton soup was good.Chicken shaoring bao was potty. Tasteless. I was very disappointed. I always have this dish in Din Tai Fung and dumplings in Dina Tai Fung are much much better.I ordered kung pao king prawn but till my friend finished sizzling mogolian beef my mains dish didn’t come. When the server asked me if I wanted to have dessert and tea, I asked for my food. 10mins later I got salt and pepper prawn lolTea was good and the pudding dessert was ok.I would go back but I won’t order Chicken shaoring bao.

Nice cosy place. Signiture Asian delights. Very powerful authentic interior design. Feels like I am in Shangai. Definitely recommended for people who like Asian food.

We ordered prawn wontons, mixed fried noodles and braised beef brisket. The food was really good. Our waiter (Prasanna) was very friendly and attentive. Very good experience overall.
