Here in Shang Palace in Shangri La hotel you can enjoy a wide variety of dim sum dishes which are exquisitely made. All are greatly tasty but only the negative comment is that it takes a little more time to be served that other dim sum restaurant. But still the interior and atmosphere here are very nice!
I do quite like some of the decorations found in the restaurant. The food is quite good and tasty. And the dessert menu has a good mix of Chinese and Western sweets.I took away a star from it, however, was because the food was not serve piping hot. I got the impression that the dishes were left standing before it was being served to the guests. The attention of the servers are also a tad inattentive, even though the restaurant was not crowded nor were they busy. Not at all.
Enjoyed a fabulous evening at Shang Palace. The food was excellent as always which is why I am a regular there. The Manager Alex and his team are extremely efficient, courteous and entertaining. We had a superb meal but at the end we realized that we missed the Peking duck so we ordered some and ate it all! The staff were quite understanding!!!
We visited the Shang Palace restaurant during our stay at the Shangri-La Hotel (located in the Trade Centre area of Dubai). We was greeted by Alex who was super helpful, he talked us through the menu and suggested some favourites for us to enjoy. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection, there was more than enough for the two of us to share. We would highly recommend the special fried rice with chicken and prawn – it was so tasty!Overall we had a lovely visit and would visit again.Instagram: @journeywithuss
Authentic upscale and elegant Chinese restaurant with excellent, friendly and helpful service. We tried the Yum Cha weekend brunch and for dim sum in Dubai it didnt disappoint. Unlimited orders from a good selection of halal dim sum makes it good to go on an empty stomach so you can try as many as you can from the very wide selection available - we didnt get through the entire menu but were still stuffed. The dim sum, although in my opinion doesnt measure up taste-wise to the best Hong Kong or global Cantonese dim sum places in the world, is very good for Dubai and as an all-you-can-eat brunch selection. They are well made and presented and offer a great selection of tastes and textures to excite and satisfy most people. Highly recommended to treat the tastebuds. At present, the selection includes various highlights from the neighbouring Hoi An menu. These Vietnamese offerings only expand upon and enhance the dishes available and you should make sure you give them a try as theres some excellent dishes in a class of their own.
It would be a 4 or 5 if the offer was not misleading and the kitchen was a bit faster. The lunch offer states 36 types of dim sum. The picture shows a lot of my favourites but unfortunately neither the offer nor the picture were true depictions, as you can see from the photos below. The vegetable spring rolls were however amazingly crisp. The vegetable dumplings tasty and the BBC chicken buns lovely. The garlic fried rice however was totally underwhelming and the noodles relatively tasteless and quite oily. Like all restaurants I would assume if you knew the menu intimately you would have some true stars but unfortunately this lunch only glimmered rather than shone.
Taste of food hidden by spiciness even after asking not to overdo the spicy I was sick. absolutely not recommended
Always a joy, specially the dim sum lunches.
Excellent Chinese food by Chinese chefs. Higher quality than most Dubai 5* hotel food. Quiet and classy.
Amazing Asian restaurant, loved the brunch and would definitely go back.
Amazing food from start to finish. Value for money and did not disappoint.
One of the best ... If not the best Chinese flavours in Dubai
Great dim sum and great service.Shao is a real start
Best dim-sum ever tasted in uae
Didnt like the food at all, Aircon wasnt working, overall not worth it.
Good Chinese food
Taro dumplings, barbecued pork crisps and plain dumplings are all okay. Homemade pickled cucumbers are crispy and delicious. I added them several times. Others belong to the series that are not tasty but there will be no problem with eating. I would like to thank my compatriot brother Simon for accompanying me, and finally gave me a red envelope to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Shangri-La, which can be regarded as a successful end to this unsatisfactory dim sum meal.
