I visited the Jebel Jais observation deck for the first time recently and I have to say that it is simply a great and amazing experience.To be able to reach at such a height with so much of ease is a commendable job done by the team who manages and maintains it.Roads - absolutely smooths and safe. Safety is ensured by putting concrete barricades on the edge of the road towrads the steep valley. These roads are not steep at all which makes the overall driving experience much better and you can easily reach atop.Viewing points / deck - Before you actually reach the observation deck, there are several decks created to enjoy the view each point has to offer. These decks are spacious enough to park cars and set up a small picnic spot / table. A couple of decks also have food trucks (which usually start by early evening, most people visit during the second half of the day) which are of great convenience when you are hungry and want grab a quick bite or want to sip hot and refreshing tea while enjoying the view.Camping - Camping is the best part of your trip to Jebel Jais. The viewing decks also offer space big enough to set up medium sized tent (maybe a 4 person capacity tent) - if you have camping stuff, pack it all, put it in your car trunk and head straight up-to the viewing decks for a quick getaway. You can camp through the day, evening and even night - getting close to nature and away from the gadgets and modern world.So now you know... Yet another amazing place to visit in RAK.

Quiet, relaxing & beautiful spot. Loved the Observation deck. Entrance Ticket is AED 5 per person. Neat & clean toilets. Best spot to view sunrise ☀️ & sunset 🌇.Road towards Jebel Jais is under construction and no road lights. Will not recommend anyone to go late night. From bottom till peak of the mountain road is in good condition & safe.

One should do the Sunrise trek awesome first 800 m is little steep but the remaining 3 km is a very easy trail with proper steps

Best good climate know in December, please wear sports shoes, no high hill sandales for ladys, if you want to clamb on hills, take drinking water bottles, enjoy full nature beauty sunset 🌇🌅🌄

Nice place to see the sunset or sunrise. Be sure to check the weather app for those times so that you can get the most experience.If you are coming from Dubai, this place will take you an hour, 45 minutes, with 30 of it being a lot of twist and turn up the mountain. The road at the beginning is boring. Then as the road starts to get fun, you will encounter road construction for about a mile. This can be dangerous at night because of lack of lights and uneven terrain. Would not drive an expensive sport cars until the roads are completed. After the road construction, the road is nice and smooth as it snakes up the mountain to the view deck. There are passing lanes. There are plenty of free parking along the road side. Cover parking is available but not needed in the winter months. Nice clean toilets available. There are 2 places that sell drinks and snacks but you can bring your own food. There are tables with overhead coverings to sit and eat. Good place for family. $5 entry fee. If you visit in the cooler months like December, take a jacket or wear warm clothes. Also wear good, comfortable sneakers or shoes (do not wear white shoes) for hiking up the 20 minutes trail from the viewing deck. It may take longer if you stop for pictures. The trail is a good for young kids and adults but not if you have breathing problems or joint problems. The trail zig zag up the side of the mountain. Beware of the many thorn buhes along the way. The top of the trail is marked with a flag and a sign. The view is eye catching.

The weather is fabulous after 6pm. You can hike there (up to 4hrs) and watch the sunset. Just bring your ID with you to register (for free).

Best night stay in RAK

Bring your own snacks and food. Good shops to support many of the snacks and items you forget, but its better if you make yourself as cozy as possible and try to catch the sunset, its the most beautiful time here.

Really amazing place to escape from the city and to enjoy the beauty of the mountains. The place is only 2.5h drive from Dubai so its perfect for a day trip. We did camping there as we planned to hike in the morning. The place is not the best for sleeping as there are planty of people visiting that place which even during the night make a lot of noise playing music loud and shouting around. Bravo for RAK police and security which are trying to keep this place clean by educating of visitors.

Beautiful scenery of the mountains and perfect weather (clear sky, a bit cold due to the wind). I visited at 9 AM on a Friday, not many people. The telescopes are free, unlike most US State parks. They have a kids playground: swings, seesaw, and short walk climbing at the top of the deck, which looks new and well maintained.The ticket is 5 AED per person, and the place is clean of trash. The people that are working there is friendly.

Quite a drive up the mountain, but once there definitely worth the effort. Make sure you go on a clear day to maximize on the visibility and use the freely available binoculars to check out the mountains surroundings. Its also a few degrees cooler there than at the bottom

Brilliant drive ... roads are very well built. However the parking in the top could be better. Great views and great weather at the top.

A good place for hiking and camping to watch the sunrise

Beautiful place. To change the picture of Dubai and skyscrapers, I advise you to climb the mountains. MesmerizingEasy to reach, convenient trail, Book a table in advance at the restaurant if you want to dine. You can take a picnic with you, or order a takeaway pizza and enjoy the views on the sun loungers.

Powerful view to relax if you want to escape briefly from the high-tech world of Dubai. Can be easily combined in a bundle with a RAK excursion.

One of the most beautiful and dedicated tourist places in the world

The most beautiful and picturesque place in the UAE. To get from Dubai 150 km, about 2 hours (we got 3 hours with all the stops). The road is ideal, in general, as in all emirates. The passage is closed to the very top, only those who want to ride on a ZIP are transported. But a stunning view opens up from the top platform! I recommend a place to visit!
