The views are nice , what u can see there from the top of the bridge is the lake only plus mountains.

Water all year round. Best to be visited early or later in the day closer to sunset. There isnt a picnic area or any food etc on site.Basically a giant dam with a paved access road to the top. The access road is quite steep and requires some care driving both ways.You arent allowed to swim in the lake or fish and access to the waters edge is restricted to only a kayak/paddle boat/motorised boat rental.

Hatta is a fascinating place, the nature scene is marvellous, the lake is in the heart of the mountains, long drive from Abu Dhabi, but worth it.

Its quit and calm place . Where its away from the city.

Great tourism spot. However, vehicle access on dam crest is limited due to ongoing construction activities. Parking is provided close by and visitors walk up the access provided. Weekends get quite crazy and in this covid time, unwise to gather in this area.

I deliberately posted a picture that doesnt showcase the lake because there are plenty of them. I wanted to give you guys a glimpse of the terrain. Traditional homes, sloping roads and green trees are common. One of the loveliest escapes in the UAE. Take a DSLR and a tripod, wait till night time and shoot the light trails of cars coming and going.There are kayaks and pedal boats you can rent for the whole day. 60 dirhams for kayaks.Everyone deserves an escape and this one will give you the relaxation you need.

Well we visited last week and there was no lake as something was going on may be under construction phase so we moved forward to hatta dam. So before going to green lake make sure that it is back in business otherwise you will only see gaint rocks and mountains.

This place is not open for public. It just got the views only. You cant enter the water. You can take only photographs.

One of the best place in UAE...

We reached before dawn to explore the lake and adjoining mountains. It was serene, dead quiet. The access is pretty easy and Google Maps takes you there without a problem.There were no other visitors and the views were breath taking. However some traces of camping were there, even though it is prohibited to camp, barbecue, or swim there. We also saw a Municipality Truck picking up trash. The area was very clean though. PLEASE DO NOT LITTER!We spent an half an hour at the lake, took plenty of photos, and felt the temperature rising as the sun rose. Explored the trails in the mountains for another half hour and then headed to see Hatta Dam.It is recommended to visit before sunrise or in winter, else one would not feel like stepping out of the car. Once you step out, then you experience the quietness and serenity.An SUV is not required one can visit the lake easily in a sedan. It is not advisable to go in gravel tracks in the mountains.We also discovered that one can access the Hatta without having to cross Omani Territory. In case someone is travelling without an ID or is barred from crossing Omani enclave. Google Maps will take you by default keeping you in UAE, though it is slightly longer. It will take you towards Sharjah and approach Hatta from there.

Very atmospheric place. A good decision to take a boat or kayak and spend an hour on the lake. There is a large parking lot. Souvenirs, toilet, shop

We came here by chance. We rented a car with the expectation of visiting Abu Dhabi, but due to covid measures they were not allowed to go there from Dubai. And since the car was already rented, we decided to go to this lake. The verdict is this: for the locals, this is certainly a miracle in the middle of the desert. But for residents of Russia, the CIS, Europe ... well, a lake and a lake) I think its not worth spending a day on a trip here, especially if you havent come to the UAE for long.

Its beautiful, you cant bathe, but thats okay. Just stay so beautiful here in the desert.
