It was my birthday.. Lovely atmosphere. Not a crowded restaurant. Tables are spaced out nicely. The staff was welcoming and Angel was quite helpful. Food was quite tasty.. If you love Vietnamese food, fine dining then this is your spot.. Prawn crackers on the house, had some yummy seafood starter, lemon sorbet while waiting, while waiting for the main, Australian tenderloin Vietnamese curry with fried rice. It was just fabulous. Great service, food, atmosphere. Dessert was coffee chocolate, caramel, ice cream something. I highly recommend this place. Its not a cheap spot.. But its what you pay for fine dining..

A great brunch at Hoi An, Vietnamese restaurant in the Shangri La hotel.A true taste of Vietnamese food from summer rolls to Pho and foie gras.Great selection of appetizers, followed by soup, then the main dishes. Everything in the menu was provided (except two appetizers which were not available). There is a soft drink package or a house wine package. Finally ending with a selection of desserts. Not a buffet. All food served to the tables by very friendly Viet staff. Not to be missed. Highly recommended. Great value for money too.

Great ambiance, delicious food & very attentive staff! Our favourite restaurant since 2013 and one of the few places in Abu Dhabi that always stays on top. From starter to the desert the quality and tastes of everything was outstanding! Servers (Sheska, Paul and Bekhruz )are great and always efficient, happy and polite. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in .

Off late theres been an increase in Vietnamese restaurants in the city and thats been amazing for the community but Hoi An will always be my favourite. It is pricey so I only visit for special occasions but its always worth it.Special shout-out to hostess April for always making my family feel well cared for.

My first time to dine in an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. My prior knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine was limited to pho, banh mi and spring rolls in rice paper. So I was pleasantly surprised that there are more and wider range of dishes, especially the dimsum. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall restaurant decor was Oriental but not sure if specifically Vietnamese.

Great Vietnamese restaurant with excellent flavours that excite your taste buds and leaves you satisfied. On the weekend (Friday and Saturday), they offer a 50 Flavours of Vietnam brunch with an all you can eat a la carte style menu. There are plenty of dishes to try starting with a wide variety of flavourful bite sized appetisers, rich beef noodle soup (pho), light and refreshing salads, filling mains, and complimenting desserts. The food presentation and variety of tastes are excellent (fitting in with the 50 flavours theme), and if you can make it through a round of the food during the brunch you can go back for seconds or more. The staff are very friendly, and the service has a warm and comforting feel. Overall, a great place to go for some finely prepared Vietnamese food.

Their Saturday Brunch was brilliant. Not too crowded and quite, calm ambient. The every menu was tasty and well presented. Their dessert was amazing! Loved Coconut ice-cream with mango. Only downfall was the smoking from the bar connected to the restaurant.

Situated within Dubais Shangri La hotel, Hoi An restaurant is a rather smaller than expected establishment. Yet, its size combined with appropriate decor create a wonderful atmosphere! Food was extremely tasty, from the freshly made rice roles to the rich and herby pho bo. All these was rounded off with some traditional Vietnamese drip coffee. Service was friendly and very efficient! Price was slightly on the higher end but to is be expected at such a place. Would recommend to anyone!

Its a nice setting on the first floor of the Shangri La Hotel on Sheikh Zayed road, about 400m walk from the metro. Ambience is authentic and service attentive.Just be aware that they are motivated to push wine at you, almost in a casual way, like its normal v, but the wine is very expensive so best value to go for a cheaper beer or Bombay Sapphire, although the cheap gin is still about 92 aed for a double..... And then 27 aed for a can of tonic, on top. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is about 25 Pounds / 33 USD for a double cheap brand G&T.The restaurant is non smoking which is a pleasant relief in Dubai. We had a shared platter of starters and whilst they were fibe, most were fairly tasteless unless you went heavy with the dips and sauces. Not authentic in flavour at all really. For mains we had fish - miso blackened cod and sea bream. The cod was tasty, perfectly cooked with nice flakes breaking away. Great texture. The sea bream was disappointing - again, bland flavour with poor texture - either badly defrosted or over-cooked; we couldnt be sure.It promises much but the food is generally just average and the drinks are very expensive. Not worth a special trip as Vietnamese should be tasty and good value - cod apart, this was neither. We used an Entertainer discount voucher to get one main course free.

Not sure if I can say this is an authentic Vietnamese restaurant but surely I can say that this is one of the most luxurious and gorgeous Vietnamese restaurants you can find in Dubai! All the decoration inside and foods here are just exquisite! Highly recommendable when you come to Shangri-La Hotel!

Very cozy ambiance. Staff was very enthusiastic. The Manager Pham Thi Luyen was exceptional. Two of my colleagues were having allergies, so when we informed the manager she prepared all the food accordingly. They even suggested some dishes that was really tasty. All in all the food was great service was excellent and special thanks to Pham Thi Luyen she made our night. Will definitely comeback and refer to others.

Have you heard of the ancient town of Hoi An? Referred to as the Venice of Vietnam, with its stereotypical water canals, it was once the crossroads of the spice trade. You can imagine my excitement when I discovered a little replica of Hoi An in Dubai, a Vietnamese restaurant in the Shangri-La Hotel. The Dubai interpretation of Hoi An was very visual with colourful lanterns, framed snapshots of Vietnam, wooden banisters, domesticated palm trees and statues of Buddha. Vibrant lights reflected in panoramic windows looked rather exotic. A little candle sparkling through the petals of a textile lotus added an oriental feel to the table.A hot towel scented with invigorating jasmine stole my heart, and a serving of crunchy Asian crackers with a side of sweet chilly sauce, my full attention.Without further hesitation I started my food journey with a cup of green jasmine tea served in an emerald-green kettle, which was poured for me with traditional gentleness. A quick look through the menu reassured I was at the right place.I decided to leave my appetite in the hands of beautiful Vietnamese servers April and Tam, who passionately mixed dish descriptions with anecdotes. I giggled happily, feeling as I was right in the middle of the midnight city chatting over a cup of tea with new friends. My amuse-bouche was a piece of boneless chicken steamed and seared on a pan and then topped with a yellow flower. Spiced mildly for my complicated taste, it signaled a desire to popularize traditional Vietnamese cuisine by introducing it to a wider audience. Not everyone is a crazy chilly monster like I am.I started dinner with a selection of appetizers placed around a spicy house-made sauce. My main course consisted of baby chicken, giant shrimp and a delicious fish, tender inside and crispy out. All food was prepared using traditional techniques modernized to European taste. The best part of my evening was a bowl of pho soup with herbs, sauces and fresh chilies on the side. I spiced up my pho to the maximum with as many chillis as possible. What a delight!

Went here last night for dinner. For drinks we had a lychee ice tea, a virgin pina colada, and a fresh green apple juice. All three drinks were very good.Started off with some cuttlefish satay skewers (pictured) and grilled duck(pictured) for appetisers. The quantity is small for these two but tasted great. The skewers were served with some fantastic peanut sauce. We had the hot and sour scallop soup (pictured), the traditional Vietnamese soup with Angus beef (pictured), and the vegetable soup with tofu. These three soups were very good as well. The beef soup was light and flavourful. Not spicy more of a clear soup with Noodles. The beef was soft and cooked perfectly. The tofu in the vegetable soup was soft and jiggly. Non eof the soup were particularly spicy. Depending on the soup some of them are accompanied with additional sauces as well as basil and/or mint leaves. In between courses, they provide a lemon sorbet to cleanse the palette. The sorbets were soft and perfect blend of sweet and sour. For the main course we ordered the Chicken Red Curry, the beef tenderloin, the salmon(pictured), the chicken fried rice, and the pineapple and scallop fried rice (pictured). The quantity for main course meals were good, substantial for 5 people. The red curry was rich in flavour and was absolutely divine. The beef again was cooked to perfection and incredible. The salmon was cooked well and the sauce accompanying it was delicious. Both the rice were well cooked, I personally preferred the pinaplle and scallop wice more. This one was more of a sticky rice consistency with a crunch from the scallops. For desert, we had more of the lemon sorbet. The overall ambience of the restaurant was delightful as well. The interiors were homely and comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Service was excellent. Will come again definitely.

Wonderful service and a real authentic feel to the food. The soup is the stand-out memory and is made from fresh shoots and broth with tangy ginger - really worth visiting just for this dish alone. Explore the brunch options, as they give great discounts when you are on a budget. Venue is well designed and makes for total Asian immersion 10/10

The room is simply beautiful with colourful lanterns on the ceiling and sitting on large, comfortable leather chairs. The personnel is adorable! Genuinely smiling and willing to please, always dedicated, perfectly efficient

We went for a dinner night with friends. It’s a very cozy and nice atmosphere .Staff was friendly and attentive. We decided to share all sorts of starters and just skip the main dishes. Food was very good quality and delicious and had the same good taste like the food we had couple weeks ago in Hoi An / VietnamThey have lots of vegetarian options and they made me vegetarian Pho which is not on the menu. Very pleasant experience, not cheap but reasonable prices.

Food tastes as the equivalent to a Chinatown in london £5 buffet. The food rather than Vietnamese is Chinese of the cheapest kind. For drinks they only have Heineken in a can, sparkling wine (which they say is Prosecco but as an Italian I know the difference) and wine no cocktails.Service is average not of a Shangri Lastandard and it took ages for dishes to come on the table as although it a brunch everything is brought to the table but more than once I had to walk over to the staff to prompt them to bring something over.So would I go back? Hell no would rather pay more but get better value for money live and learn

We went to the brunch and I have to say that they should work a bit more on the dishes presentation. I know it is a brunch served on a table but some of the dishes looked like were thrown on the plate.Otherwise the food taste was ok, the restaurant is not very big so it is nice because all the tables were occupied. We paid a good price because we had entertainer but I would not pay the real price of the brunch unless the presentation of the plates are improved. The first dish took a while to arrive but after that all came without any issue. The service is attentive and the décor is really nice.
