It’s situated right beside the lake and in this weather it’s perfect to dine outside.Chef Jorge is a genius, and some of my favourite dishes here are the Fish (in two spices), Prawn Tacos and their deliciously crunchy churros.In the night it gets super busy here so make sure you have a reservation, I would love to go back with my family and try some of their other dishes too.

Great Mexican with a lovely ambiance on the Madinat waters.The guacamole prepared at the table is excellent and the fajitas are served with home made tortillas.Service is generally excellent.

So how do I start this review ? I think I have to first mention the amazing staff especially Munashe who served us this gentleman is so well spoken and had us entertained all evening. The ambience of the place is well suited to the food and looks very authentic I have to say. The food is absolutely mind-blowing the images maybe will give is some justice. We started off with Cancun inspired prawns which were delicious and have a after taste which is just perfect . Then the chicken Tinga and waygu Carne Asada for mains as well as pollo adabo a la parrilla. All of which were so well presented and the meat and chicken so fresh they were way above any expectations that I had absolutely. We finished off with the milk cake and that was heaven also as you can see from the image. I have to insist that if your in dubai put this place on your list its a must for sure you will not be disappointed. Another plus was that it is child friendly which many places struggle with.If I could give it more stars I would here is an extra 2 because I just need to ⭐⭐

Good restaurant nicely located by the Madinat pool.Service is good but not my type of food I wanted to give it anther chance but...confirmed as not my cup of tea.. so the 4 stars is my take for thatThey DO have non smoking area!Fred

Food was very good, great flavours and a good atmosphere. Service not the best (a little slow) or attentive (difficult to get server attention and also didnt notice when courses finished).

I used to like this place. But returning to it wasnt a good experience. The service of one male waitress were not upon expectations. We sat there for more than 20 minutes after arriving then we had to approach a waiter to take our orders. The host was nice and helpful and one waitress also was very responsive. When we got the bill two things we didnt like..i ordered fajita 1/2 chicken 1/2 beef, they charged us for fajita bief which was 190 AED, while chicken Fajitas is 140 and they charged us for full beef fajita as they didnt have another option. Also 1 glass chivas double shot was 154 AED which is higher than other hotel restaurants. With the amount we spent we could go to a much more luxurious experience in other 5 stars hotel restaurants.

If youre looking for authentic, flavorful Mexican food, this is not the place. The ambiance is the best part - food is not great. Tried the carne asada fajitas, carne asada burrito, and Camaron fajitas - all of which were average. Drinks and desserts were decent, but I would not re-visit.

The decor takes you back to Mexico. One of the best restaurants in Dubai when it comes to ambience and location.But the food is average and the portions are tiny compared to the prices.

The Fajita’s are to die for. Great food and ambiance. Leaving one star out because of the cost. Agave smash is a great non alcoholic beverage to try for.

5 star food and service but prices are high for Mexican food.

Starters of tacos, fajitas, quesadillas etc were all very delicious. I would recommend just have a few rounds of those for the meal, the mains were not as tasty and less value for money. Tortuga have great specials each day and Id for sure be back for the all you can eat Taco Tuesdays

I was invited by my friends for a dinner and it was really good being my first Mexican cuisine experience. Youll feel that youre really in a mexican place especially the variety of foods and the live band singing latin songs plus a very relaxing ambience... A must visit one...

Tortuga offers authentic Mexican food within the beautiful setting of Madinat Jumeirah. From freshly, handmade guacamole to tasty street style tacos and other famous Mexican home style foods such as mole chicken, one can be spoiled for choice. The restaurant also offers an extensive drink menu including frozen margaritas, Mexican beers and sodas. The overall atmosphere is fantastic and even better during winter evenings with live music. Service is good and efficient even during busy times. Only downside is that Tortuga is on the expensive side but its something to be expected from most Madinat Jumeirah restaurants. Recommended despite the high price!

Very nice restaurant - we ordered takeout, which was interesting - apparently they dont get many takeout orders - my wife had to argue with them about getting nachos to take out - the chef felt they wouldnt be any good if they werent served fresh?? At any rate, everything we got was very good. Especially the tacos and guacamole. Also, the Octopus was fantastic. However, the nachos were disappointing, not because they werent fresh enough, but because they were made with a disappointing cheese sauce that reminded me of fake cheese - not what I would have expected from a restaurant of this caliber.

Turtuga has an amazing all-you-can-eat buffet called Taco Tuesday, where you can pick from 6 different types of tacos. There’s a live band as well singing a Latin version of all the classics.It was at first a delicious option to go to satisfy the craving for tacos, but they recently removed the Guacamole from the buffet, so you end up ordering as an add on and it just defeats the purpose of being a great deal.You’re better off ordering from the menu and using an Entertainer, it will save you more

Great mexican in Dubai, the food is very tasty, the spicy margaritas are amazing if you like spicy, and the kids just loved the live band.

A fantastic choice for Mexican cuisine thats bound to leave you struggling to walk. The guacamole is one of the best I have ever tasted. It seems to be a favourite for celebrations and has an amazing vibe. Has excellent customizations in the menu for vegetarians. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for an authentic Mexican fine dining restaurant for a special occasion.

The atmosphere is Mexican. It reminds me of a Christmas vacation in Mexico. The food is superb . I never tasted a quesadilla chihuahua so original like what they have. Great stuff. The beef Asada tacos was tender, soft and very tasteful. The churros was the best I ever had in the UAE , and its the freshest I tasted. Make sure you dont over order . We had appetizer and we were already full . I thought The bands microphone in the main dining hall was a bit loud . If you want to taste Mexico without traveling there, then by all means come to Tortugo : Mexico in a plate.

Tortugas is a great Mexican place in the city. The atmosphere is lively, and a bit noisy. Dont go if youre expecting to talk. The beer selection is limited, and leans toward the light side. The margaritas and mixed drinks are better. The appetizers are amazing! Honestly, I thought they were better than my meal. Two types of salsa comes with the chips in the beginning, and I liked both! The fajitas are great, and a big portion. Would definitely return.

Mexican Restaurant in the Jurmaira Hotel resort, a nice place, a great outdoor restaurant. Service is nice and friendly, the food is very good, especially the clucacmole made on table is realy good. Price is ok for a 5 Star Hotel.

Disappointed. I booked a table a few days back, the only available spot was 9:30PM - no one informed me that the last order (food & drink) is 10:30PM and that by 11:30PM we should leave. As per the manager, I called the hotel reservation and not the restaurant, which should not make any difference for the user. We barely had time to place our order as noone told us that the abras did not work so we had to walk for 15 minutes (and therefore we were late), and at 11:15PM we were kindly asked to leave - which is understandable but we should have been informed before hand. The communication on all the above was extremely bad and the restaurant is not worth this hassle.

Probably the best Mexican food Ive had in Dubai. Every dish was fresh and surprisingly delicious. No matter how basic you may consider a fajita or burrito or taco, the way they make them just takes them all to another level. Totally satisfied!

Have been here multiple times, and never had a disappointing experience. Have been to so many other Mexican restaurants but no one serves food as good as this!

Authentic Mexican restaurant. The portions are big, and their fajitas as great (although offer limited ingredients, i.e. no cheese, rice or beans) good selection of margaritas, and the staff is accommodating and friendly. They accept entertainer :)

We went with the waiters suggestion on the food and beer pairings, lol great fun :-)I would recommend getting a taxi to the Madiant and taking the dhow to the restaurant. We had friends visiting and they were thrilled by the experience and the photo opportunity.

The restaurant is situated in a hotel, has great ambience. Food is amazing. Guacamole was made live at the table. A little bit on the pricey side. Many vegetarian options available. Service was fantastic. Would highly recommend it.

Went to Tortuga for their Friday brunch. Maria, Samir and Jorge made us feel right at home with their extraordinary and attentive service. The location has a great family atmosphere and authentic Mexican food, a perfect Friday afternoon spot!

The fish of the day was a sea bass and it was amazing. Highly recommended and Vinay and Benet were very hospitable and very attentive.

Good sign to Spanish food is good chips and everything is by far amazing. Great place for a very lively yet chilled experience and still family friendly.
