Although prepaid for a car rental DIRECTLY from the company Dubai website I was shocked to be informed that they had NO Cars for me!!. James at the counter did try and help but was unsuccessful. I understand that their area manager Ellen is aware of the problem but does nothing to resolve such situations. I was then advised to take a taxi to hotel whilst they will TRY to get a car for me. Fortunately after 12 or so calls and emails I was sent an upgraded car by Harris which I am very grateful.Well at the end of the day when I went to return the car and request the refund for the taxi ride I was informed that they didnt have a way to refund the money but will offset the amount from SALIK but will not be able to refund any difference!!

Abysmal!I took a car from them, it was provided to me from my insurance company when there was an accident on my car and it had to go for repairs. I called them and they said they will deliver the car to my place the same day evening. Nobody showed up, I called them the next day (their toll free number doesnt work all the time), they said their driver came to deliver the car and tried calling me and it went to my voicemail (a big lie, neither did I receive any calls from them, nor do I have a voicemail box for my number). They said they will call me back, nobody called again. Finally I managed to call them, they said no drivers available and I need to go to Terminal 3 to collect the car which I did the same evening. The car was not clean, the guy asked me to wait for the car to be cleaned but I didnt have time, so I refused. The next day my car was ready after repair and so I asked Avis to come and collect the car, nobody came to collect the car as of now, it has been two days. I didnt go outside my home thinking they will come to collect the keys as the car was parked outside my house. They do not give any respect for your valuable time. May be they want to charge more days rental from my insurance company by showing them that I had this car for several days! I do not know how this company can operate like this so irresponsibly!

Avis car rental is qood, offers clean and new selection of cars in different sefments but office duration during deivery was quite long. Even you submit all info upfront, still you have to re-write all info (including your credit card info! 😳) to seperate A4 forms.

Its a shame AVIS standard has dropped so much. Being charged more than 60$ on my credit card after 3 months of returning the car! For what? No possible way to find out! Because 800-AVIS calls are not being answered since last 1 week. Never Ever - Stay away to avoid any unexplainable charges to your card and waste of precious time!

Most awful service I ever got from a car rental company. I arrived to Dubai on April 2 and I had a booking for Mazda 3 which I made very much in advance. When I arrived no cars of the booked class were available and I was offered to take a Nissan Sunny and change car in two days maximum. The car I got turned out to have problems with breaking system and was not safe to drive. I contacted the company representatives multiple times and they promised to change the car but after some time they started to ignore my calls. No one contacted me from the company directly as they promised to do.I did not expect this from a well-known company. I highly recommend you to use a different rental company when you visit Dubai.UPD: changed the car in three days with an upgrade from initial category.

A decent car rental. The process of rental and return was smooth, although taking a car took some time. We rented a Mazda 3 (D) class that got upgraded to a micro SUV. At this price point there was no parktronicks, no cruise control and no navigation. The manual climate control is powerful enough to cool the car down. I would recommend such a car.

Absolutely horrendous experience. After almost a two hour delay in receiving the car, I received it in a very bad state. Carpets were filthy! and full of stains as you can see from the picture. After returning it, I was charges with AED 36.60 for 1 Salik CROSSING!!! when I ask their call centre for a breakdown, they tell me they do not have the information!! AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE

Worst rental company, staff ever in the world. Please do not reserve with Avis in Dubai they are thieves I reserved a Toyota Prado for 17 days costing more than 2000 euros and when I got there they had charged me and didn’t even have a car for me after two hours they gave me a regular Sudan which was supposed to be for one day with hazardous lights and other lights showing on the dashboard. The next day I called and called but no answer so I went back to the airport and the phone was ringing but no one answering when I asked why there response was because it’s just angry clients can you believe that. I asked where is my car and the still had nothing for me after I complained they gave me a midsize vehicle which was still cheaper than what I reserved. I will share this story with as many people as I can especially the expatriates in my community both on ground and abroad. I truly have never felt or seen anything like this in my life.People all over the world boycott Avis I’m truly advising you to never book through Avis and the worst is I booked on there official site. UN Staff, Embassies, and all frequent travelers in this area I recommend NOT TO BOOK WITH AVIS.

AVIS UAE, has me so frustrated. As an Avis Presidents club member I only use Avis everywhere I go for the past 7 years. Avis UAE has stolen money from my credit card in the form of charging my card for the same expenses more than once.Recently I have rented in Dubai with Avis. On arrival their systems were down and took about an hour 01AM in the morning to get the car.After return I noticed multiple charges for the SAME toll charges (SALIK).I have contact AVIS UAE and several emails and regardless of bank statements and proof, they stop responding and offer no resolution for stealing my money... As I write this.. the car was returned 6th March 2020.The part that disgust me even more is that these double charges came from 2 separate credit cards I have and I only gave AVIS UAE 1 cards details on this rental agreement.I have rented the previous year with AVIS UAE multiple times using my other card. So without my consent or legal authority, they have kept my card details on file, and processed transactions against my card that was not given or put on record for this rental agreement.

Absolutely horrible service and dishonorable staff - would not recommend!Reserved a car from the Avis US website and received multiple confirmations of the reservation leading up to the day before the date of reservation. We show up at the counter and are told that they are out of cars - this despite having a standing reservation and being an Avis Preferred (and Corporate) member.The staff promise to deliver a car to us before the end of day. They mention that they are procuring cars from their Abu Dhabi location and guarantee us that we will have a car delivered to our hotel. Throughout the day we made multiple phone calls to the location and almost all except one call went unanswered. The one that was answered was hung-up right away. This was an infuriating experience and threw our plans off.I reported this to Avis USA customer service and they mentioned something about this site being a “franchise” location and the situation being out of their control and them being unable to honor the reservation agreement.I have had good experiences with Avis USA locations but I recommend avoiding this location at all costs.

Customer service was good but the cars arent. We got an upgrade to Mitsubishi Lancer but the car was driving rough, steering wheel was too tight and car had quite a few existing damages. Id be very careful when picking the car and make sure all damages are noted. The car was also dirty inside and had banana skin from may be a year ago lol.

Never pay by debit card for your rental in Avis. When you back home You never get Your deposit back. Use only Credit card if You wish to rent a car through.. Good employee always inform You about. I Don’t recommend this branch and Avis at all cause despite I’m leaving in Dubai. 1 year past since they can not return my 1600 AED deposit money back. Customer support is not working completely when You rising a question about money return. They telling to You something indefinite or do not reply at all. Awful. Better to forget about You money. More comfortable for the own nerves.

I booked Mazda 3 but at the Dubai airport terminal 3 they told me some other car which wasnt even in the category but the lady at the reception said every country has got different category. She was giving me Nissan elentra and said Mazda 6 is available but have to pay around £60 more, so I paid extra and got Mazda 6 because the other car wasnt worth the price I paid for and I could have got that for way cheaper, so it was useless to get that car. So I had no choice but to pay extra and an upgrade. She did the paperwork and asked me to collect from the parking area. When I went there, to my shock, Mazda 3 was parked there but apparently they chose not to give it to me, may be they reserved it for someone but I dont understand why not me even though I booked a month earlier. Next time I will try some other rent a car company. Europcar gives what they say. Once I booked Kia Sportage with them and they gave that car without the category drama like Avis does.

Terrible service They dont want to rent cars. I order a Mazda car rental, signed a three year contract, and they said that they would buy the car because they didnt have it. I paid everything for the three years. As it was going to be new, they offered me to choose the color. They offered me five different colors, and, as I was asking for one particular color, they just answered there was no availability. Another color I asked for, (car was just sold). Again another color I asked for, that car was just sold. I even offered to pay for an upgrade car in order to get a nice color car. No way. Apparently they just had a blue light color Mazda, horrible, which I didnt want it for three years. Finally we broke the contract! Incredible. They just missed a three year contract, and Ive wasted a lot of time. Thanks AVIS, never again.

The worst car rental experience ever. I flew from London to Dubai Terminal 3 with 4 kids. They apparently only take credit cards, and not debit cards which they forgot to mention although we booked and liaised directly with the branch over the phone before we arrived. We have rented from other Avis branches throughout the world whereby the process was easy and they accepted debit cards. The policies in Dubai need to keep up with the Avis brand globally otherwise this is not good for the reputation of Avis. This has put me off renting from Avis again and Avis headquarters you also have a responsibility to who you sell your brand rights to! Its not just about the money, it should also be about your customers and the reputation of the brand.

This was the worst experience of my life while renting a car. I booked online with my Credit card and at Avis the woman (BTW she was very not respectful) told me its a debit card. I called my bank they told her that its a credit card and its also writted on the card but she didnt want to give us the car with the credit policy. She was yelling that its a debit card. I asked her to call her manager and she didnt want. I spent 2 hours at 3am to try to explain her that its a credit card but she didnt want to understand and to call her manager.Im really disapointed because I already used this company in France and internationally and Im living in Dubai and its the first time I had this bad experience.I dont recommend at all this rental car company in Dubai!!!!! Its a dishonest company. They are just trying to charge extra insurance and the employee are not friendly and very not respectful with their clients.!!!!

Omg they charged me 100s of pounds after drop off. Even tho the car had 0 damage, why would it have damage? I couldnt find the gate ticket and the man didnt seem happy about it. However he checked the car and it was perfect. Im now told i was charged for Boot damage. This was one week after drop off.However 4 months later im being charged another £200. No explanation about that.In total i have been charged 2500 dirhams for a 600 rental. I did have full insurance, but its not the point. The car wasnt damaged at all and if it was why not tell me upon return? Why sign papers saying its fine. Because there was NO DAMAGE, thats why. Your scammers.KEEP AWAY FROM AVISUpdate: I didnt expect it, but the customer service replies ontime and kept me updated, anyway they have agreed to refund the cost they said was for the damage, since damage wasnt found at the time return and could have came anytime.They charged me almost $150 for cleaning the car, because my kids had eaten and spilt stuff on back seat. I could have paid $10 and got it cleaned if i had the time, knowing UAE wages, i thought $150 was really excessive. Even a full Vallet in the UK would not cost more than $50.

It is not for nothing that this society whose practices are shameful and dishonest accumulate 1 * and very bad opinions!AVIS UAE uses intimidation techniques, lies and plays on the misunderstanding and fatigue of travelers in order to sell you optional insurance unnecessary and overpriced.When I took a vehicle, the ticket salesman cheated me to force me to take optional insurance which she clearly told me was mandatory (CAN NOT get the car without). After several exchanges and many misunderstandings, she let me believe that it was in fact a deposit to be paid and that I was guaranteed that I would get my money back. I tell you that but we were 7 witnesses that day (and ALL confirm the same thing)After 1 hour at the counter (and before, 7h of plane) to recover a car already paid in advance on the website: we get the car. Do not expect an impeccable car: we had a very damaged car with the interior going into pieces!Back in France, I actually learn that they will not give me back my money and that in fact I signed for insurance that was optional. Clearly, I just have me and despite many reminders, AVIS UAE does not let anything and informs me that I will never see my money.Prefer a competitor like Hertz or Europcar with whom I have never had trouble rather than this shameful and thieving company. Another tip: never pay in advance and on the internet, in case of problems on site you can always go elsewhere!

After reading the google reviews for rental car companies at Dubai airport (inducing avis), I was terrified if they will rip me off, or charge my card fraudulently, or discover damage to car upon inspection of returning the vehicle.I booked it online via avis uaes website for terminal 3 (since I knew this is where the office is - and booking at other terminals will have to be picked up etc etc - terminal 3 is where Emirates Airline lands/takes-off). Well anyway, I arrived at the airport reached their office and the paper work took from 10 to 15 minutes (I was told since I booked from avis uae website, the price already includes the airport parking fees - which wont be included in the total price if booked from third party websites).When I came out to inspect the car, the car inspection guy had already inspected the car and wanted me to sign off the paper but I told him straight that Im scared of all the reviews online and will take pictures and will only then sign the inspection after. So I took pictures of the car from every where (inside and outside, including the hood, trunk, and under body). Every thing went okay... I rented the car for a week, and upon returning I did the same exercise again (and I was afraid that hopefully it will be no issues as reported in the reviews for rental cars in the dubai airport). Wallah, no issues... I was good to go. I rented the car in January 2017, and its been 2 to 3 months and havent seen any charge or anything fraudulent on my credit card.So, its okay, dont need to be scared when at least renting from avis (but I recommend taking pictures of the car for your own safety).P.S.: At the time of renting out, I was told that my credit card may be charged for tolls (this will happen in a week or 2) but nothing of that sort happened.

Do not rent from AVIS . Service is joke. And You will be charged lot more money after you return or 10 days later, and they will not response to you or care what you complaining. Take your business some where else or take taxi . I didnt believe these reviews are true. but they are!. been charged extra at the end almost £150 fees such as admin, charged for an extra day just because I took a car 45 minutes early (but at the time was told it is fine) also they will sell you insurance even tho when booking online its clearly saying your price includes insurance. This is a local franchise and it doesnt do the brand justice. Even though I did not have to wait in line, it still took about 40 minutes from getting to the Avis desk to driving off. The vehicle had 80,000 km on the clock and the engine was well past its best.

I took the car for 13 days in February 2021, booked in advance through rentalkars, booked a small subcompact like Suzuki Swift. We arrived at night, a small car was not available (it was like it was broken), the manager began to offer me options with a surcharge of +250 dirham - I will give a Camry, or +300 dirham I will give a Kia sportage, I said that there was no money for an additional payment, give me my car. They gave me a white Nissan Kiks (a car of a class higher) in good condition, running 26 thousand km, but they said that they would come to the hotel in the evening and change the car. But no one came and I skated the whole vacation in this car. There were no problems with the return either, before I took it washed for 15 dirhams in the supermarket in the parking lot - there are washers walking around. For toll roads, they billed 156 dirhams, plus they take a lot of their fee 50%, they took about 5 thousand rubles from the card, only for this minus 1 point. And to that, six months later, they sent me an invoice to pay a fine of 652.5 dirhams, where they got it from is not clear, I quickly blocked my credit card so that the money would not be withdrawn. And with our money it is about 13 thousand rubles.

My vehicle delivery had to be done at Terminal 1 as indicated on my delivery note and the counter at the destination was closed, because the staff did not wait to give the vehicle, no contact number except medical emergencies or security, my family had to contact the terminal 3 office to collect the vehicle there. Poor staff, doing the condition of the vehicle alone, asking you to stay in the office, without any visibility, because the AVIS vehicles of terminal 3 are under the neon lights of the underground car park, at night it is even more difficult to see clearly . They tried to blame me for a bump on the hood of the car (luckily on the advice of my family living there a video and photos were taken, authentic), which is commonplace at AVIS Dubai . I paid to get a vehicle of a certain category, but the similar vehicle did not appear to be of the same category, my husband being tall (1.92m, we made the choice of this vehicle accordingly), he was never able to drive, because his knees touched under the steering wheel which was despite the adjustments between his legs. The vehicle smelled bad (feet) and dirty and stained carpets and seats. I paid for obtaining a GPS, it was of no use to me. It was imposing and put in place by AVIS staff, it sat in the middle of the broken par leaving very little visibility and connected to the cigarette lighter, in which case it did not light up. In addition, it did not recognize all the addresses that we put in it (Dubai mall, etc., therefore a very well-known and popular place). I had to use my personal phone to find my way back, since it did not allow us to be able to return to our hotel, and therefore € 250 off the package. And I was told that if this had happened it was because an update had to be done and therefore come back to the airport to update and leave. Let me laugh. Then we had the problem of the tire under-inflation warning light, the gentleman told me that the problem had been solved and that when driving the warning light would disappear, more stories, it remained on all week. I was not mentioned that the tolls in Dubai were physically non-existent and that it was done by a statement of plates (luckily my cousin living there informed me), and that this would be debited from the amount of my deposit. . But no one told me anything. So I do not recommend to anyone this lessor of Terminal 3 and 1. Who besides not being serious, are scammers, and dishonest people. They try to pass everything so that we cannot recover the entire deposit (nearly 400 €), and allow themselves to be aggressive, incomprehensible and incompressible. The fear helping this makes them think they have all the rights. We did not finally sign the deposit slip in order to dispute the alleged facts, which are not our fault. And the acceptance of the non-signature was only supported because we threatened our interlocutors to bring in the police services. As for the deposit, as soon as you return the vehicle, your deposit only returned you between 14 and 30 days, this annoys me, knowing that during the payment, you pay immediately, and you do not tell them the vehicle will be paid within 14 to 30 days. So why all the time lapse. I strongly advise against this rental company, beware of you and those people without faith or law, who think they are holding you in fear. NOTICE TO FORGOTS. Working in tourism and having my family in Dubai who works in the organization of private stays, and having contacts with influential and known people, the watchword is given, they will boycott all AVIS Dubaï airport, our clients, us ourselves and our loved ones. And all those who ask us for rentals will be redirected to other rental companies. Thank you AVIS for a most pleasant stay (its irony of course ....)

I advise you not to rent a car from them, bad reception, the first time that I am refused my credit cards, finally debit (visa first), all this to force to take out insurance and a deposit at an exorbitant price, and after all that you have to fight to be reimbursed, no one answers the phone, no way to contact customer service !!! To fleeNot only is the reception catastrophic but in addition they have a regulation which obliges those who do not have a credit card to pay two large sums of money (additional insurance not reimbursed + a deposit which will be returned supposedly under 45 days)A real hostage taking when you have already paid for your rental and you arrive late at night with small children. All bad rental company. Ever. . give wrong car promise to exchange do not show up. Eventually exchanged. Claiming damage to the car that was already there. regardless of the fact that the car is fully insured, they will unfairly charge costs. besides the damage, nigger costs are added. Never rent a car from this party again.

Their dealings at the very beginning were very sophisticated. The problem is that they take a security of 1000 riyals. They told me that it is a month and it will be returned and now 3 has been completed and it has not been recovered nor the number answered, and a complaint will be filed to the Dubai Tourism Authority for their lack of credibility and their commitment to the customer

Thieves !! To flee !! Full risk insurance is useless at all. The hypocritical staff! Smile when you have to pay but otherwise very bad and aggressive (especially mahmoud). 2 months after my trip, they charge me € 315 !!! I strongly advise against it. Go to the competitors.

Stay away without arguing, personal flying forcing to take insurance with credit card in payment the while being the rudest possible deposit of 1000 AED ever made (3 months after then renting) after several trip to Dubai I don I never had so much trouble to rent a car, go to the competition without thinking.

I would not advise one of their cars is old and unclean. I booked an accord, they said take a Mazda 6 or a Nissan Altima, even though they are cheaper on the site, and they didnt give me an upgrade. I would never recommend trying them

NE PAS ALLER CHEZ EUX !!! Nous avions louer une voiture en juin pour une semaine avec une carte de débit car nous navons pas de carte de crédit. Au comptoir on nous informe que le remboursement sera fait 15 jours après rendu du véhicule. Au rendu du véhicule on nous informe que cest dans 45jours finalement. nous sommes à 90jours+ et toujours aucun remboursement. Je fais des mails quotidiennement et aucune réponse, par téléphone lagence ne peut rien faire.
