AT THE TOP - A Breath taking view once you reach top using the best and the fastest lifts I have personally seen. The logo of this place itself is a symbol that it doesnt need any one to tell about it.Standing so tall in sky cant even have a look at the complete monument in one go.DUBAI MALL - Another megastructure inside Burj Khalifa biggest mall ever built. Best place to shop around in sale time.Attaching photos of and the views from the Megastructure.

There are unconfirmed reports of several planned height increases since its inception. Originally proposed as a virtual clone of the 560 m (1,837 ft) Grollo Tower proposal for Melbourne, Australias Docklands waterfront development, the tower was redesigned by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill.[32] Marshall Strabala, a Skidmore, Owings and Merrill architect who worked on the project until 2006, said in late 2008 that Burj Khalifa was designed to be 808 m (2,651 ft) tall.[33]The architect who designed it, Adrian Smith, felt that the uppermost section of the building did not culminate elegantly with the rest of the structure, so he sought and received approval to increase its height.[citation needed] It was stated that this change did not add any floors, which fit with Smiths attempts to make the crown more slender.[34] The building opened on 4 January 2010.[12][13]Architecture and designCross-section comparisons of various towers, from top to bottom: Burj Khalifa, Taipei 101, Willis Tower, and World Trade CenterThe tower was designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM), which also designed the Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower) in Chicago and the One World Trade Center in New York City. Burj Khalifa uses the bundled tube design of the Willis Tower, invented by Fazlur Rahman Khan.[35][36] Due to its tubular system, proportionally only half the amount of steel was used in the construction, compared to the Empire State Building.[35][37] Khans contributions to the design of tall buildings have had a profound impact on architecture and engineering. It would be difficult to find any worldwide practices in the design of tall buildings that have not been directly or indirectly influenced by his work.[38] The design is reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wrights vision for The Illinois, a mile-high skyscraper designed for Chicago, as well as Chicagos Lake Point Tower. When Adrian Smith was conceiving the project at SOM, he looked out his office window toward Lake Point Towers curved three wing layout, Theres the prototype, he said.[39] According to Strabala, Burj Khalifa was designed based on the 73 floor Tower Palace Three, an all-residential building in Seoul. In its early planning, Burj Khalifa was intended to be entirely residential.[33]Subsequent to the original design by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, Emaar Properties chose Hyder Consulting to be the supervising engineer and NORR Group Consultants International Ltd to supervise the architecture of the project.[40] Hyder was selected for their expertise in structural and MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) engineering.[41] Hyder Consultings role was to supervise construction, certify the architects design, and be the engineer and architect of record to the UAE authorities.[40] NORRs role was the supervision of all architectural components including on-site supervision during construction and design of a 6-story addition to the office annex building for architectural documentation. NORR was also responsible for the architectural integration drawings for the Armani Hotel included in the Tower. Emaar Properties also engaged GHD,[42] an international multidisciplinary consulting firm, to act as an independent verification and testing authority for concrete and steelwork. The design is derived from Islamic architecture.[21] As the tower rises from the flat desert base, there are 27 setbacks in a spiral pattern, decreasing the cross section of the tower as going upward and creating convenient outdoor terraces. These setbacks are arranged and aligned in a way that minimizes vibration wind loading from eddy currents and vortices.[7] At the top, the central core emerges and is sculpted to form a finishing spire. At its tallest point, the tower sways a total of 1.5 m (4.9 ft).[43]The spiral minaret at the Great Mosque of SamarraThe spire of Burj Khalifa is composed of more than 4,000 tonnes (4,400 short tons; 3,900 long tons) of structural steel. Burj Khalifa was designed by Adrian Smith, of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, whose firm designed the Willis Tower and One World Trade Center. Hyder Consulting was chosen to be the supervising engineer with NORR Group Consultants International Limited chosen to supervise the architecture of the project. The design is derived from the Islamic architecture of the region, such as in the Great Mosque of Samarra. The Y-shaped tripartite floor geometry is designed to optimize residential and hotel space. A buttressed central core and wings are used to support the height of the building. Although this design was derived from Tower Palace III, the Burj Khalifas central core houses all vertical transportation with the exception of egress stairs within each of the wings. The structure also features a cladding system which is designed to withstand Dubais hot summer temperatures. It contains a total of 57 elevators and 8 escalators.

The private Residents Lounge located on the 123rd floor of the Burj Khalifa offers a quiet, comfortable space for meetings, reading or simply taking in the awe-inspiring views. There is a complimentary espresso bar, two separate sitting areas with comfortable sofas and chairs, a book library and access to an outdoor terrace with climate controlled plunge pool. The vistas from the terrace floor offer unmatched views in Dubai. You can see as far as the Marina, World Islands and Burj Al Arab. There are a few sunbeds positioned in a private deck area. The pool is relatively small - but is a great way to chill out and cool off during the summer months. Access to the terrace is restricted during reports of high winds; however, on calmer days the breeze coming in from the sea is so refreshing and about 5 degrees cooler than the temperature on the ground.Entry is exclusive to residents and their guests - so best to ask a friend who lives there.

Burj Khalifa is just an amazing building! We went to see the fountains and in a way I was sad to see so few people there..but on the other hand it was SO nice to see it like this. It was so emotional to listen to the music (Celine Dionne and Andrea Bocelli; the Prayer!!), see the beautiful surrounding and view the dancing water..a full on delight of the senses and definitely should not be missed by anybody living or visiting Dubai!

One of the world famous buildings and a must see place if you are visiting Dubai. The engineering skills that have been used to blow the mind and the way up the details are on how it was built, the stages and the current state of the building with the world. Also the technology used inside the building was amazing, including the lift that carries you to the 124th floor with just 60 seconds. where the viewing dock is. You can travel up to only certain floors and you wonder how the lift functions with so many people and such height. From the top the sight is Breath taking. It has a restaurant and night club as well but they are very upmarket.

You might know Burj Khalifa to be the tallest building in the world, standing at 828 metres and over 160 floors, but its history actually dates back only to a decade. Compare it to Paris’ iconic Eiffel Tower that opened to the public in 1889, or Delhi’s Qutub Minar, which was built in 1193, Burj Khalifa has some catching up to do in building years.Burj Khalifa’s construction started in 2004, and officially opened its doors on January 6 2010. Today, this architectural marvel proudly stands in the heart of Downtown Dubai (and on all our Instagram feeds). While it’s fascinating to look at, Burj Khalifa is not just a tourist hotspot. It is also a residential and commercial building. It contains a total of 57 elevators and eight escalators. The first 15 floors are occupied by the Armani Hotel, which offers 304 rooms and suites, a luxurious spa, two world-class restaurants and a nightclub. DIf after visiting you’re convinced to move in, you can. The Residence in Burj has 900 flats, from levels 19 to 108. All you need is about 70 crores to spare, and you can snag yourself a swany 1BHK in Dubai’s most coveted address. While your home may or may not include a pool, you can head to the the 43rd and 76th floors to use their two swimming pools – indoor and outdoor, whichever you fancy.Your apartment key at the Burj also gets you direct (and secret) access to The Dubai Mall. Who wants to be behind those slow walkers anyway? That’s not the only benefit you get when you have your deliveries sent to Burj Khalifa – all homeowners have free access to the Armani hotel spa, and each floor’s world-class gym facilities. Yup, each floor here has a yoga room, a massage room and a fully equipped gym. It’s your fitness tracker’s dream come true.esigned by Giorgio Armani, this is only one of his two namesake properties (the other one is in Milan)It also holds the following records:-- Tallest freestanding structure in the world-- Highest number of stories in the world-- Highest occupied floor in the world-- Highest outdoor observation deck in the world-- Elevator with longest travel distance in the world-- Tallest service elevator in the world-- Worlds highest swimming pool in a building (on Level 76)

Best time to go is during the Sunset .Its a wonderful experience being at the top of Burj Khalifa.Burj Dubai before its inauguration in 2010, is a skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. With a total height of 829.8 m (2,722 ft) and a roof height (excluding antenna) of 828 m (2,717 ft), the Burj Khalifa has been the tallest structure in the world since its topping out in late 2008Construction of the Burj Khalifa began in 2004, with the exterior completed five years later in 2009. The primary structure is reinforced concrete. The building was opened in 2010 as part of a new development called Downtown Dubai. It is designed to be the centrepiece of large-scale, mixed-use development. The decision to construct the building is reportedly based on the governments decision to diversify from an oil-based economy, and for Dubai to gain international recognition. The building was originally named Burj Dubai but was renamed in honour of the ruler of Abu Dhabi and president of the United Arab Emirates, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan;[3] Abu Dhabi and the UAE government lent Dubai money to pay its debts. The building broke numerous height records, including its designation as the tallest building in the world.Burj Khalifa was designed by Adrian Smith, of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, whose firm designed the Willis Tower and One World Trade Center. Hyder Consulting was chosen to be the supervising engineer with NORR Group Consultants International Limited chosen to supervise the architecture of the project. The structure also features a cladding system which is designed to withstand Dubais hot summer temperatures. It contains a total of 57 elevators and 8 escalators.Critical reception to Burj Khalifa has been generally positive, and the building has received many awards. There were complaints concerning migrant workers from South Asia who were the primary building labor force. These centered on low wages and the practice of confiscating passports until duties were complete. Several suicides were reported

Experience of the lifetime. Had loads of fun at 124 & 125th floor. In fact, wanted to go higher, as its the tallest building of the world right now. But, it was a bit expensive for my pocket. We went up at 17:00 and stayed upto 20:00 hrs. Could see the daytime view from above and night too. Also, could see the sunset view from 125th floor. Very nice view. Must visit if you go to Dubai.
