I fell in love to this place the moment I saw it. So far, for 6 months, I went there 4x and 3x was at night and it was so amazing. It was so calm and peaceful. The stars feels like covering you like a blanket and all you can hear is the blow of the wind and the current from electricity nearby. A must visit place.

Nice rock formations and would be great to visit during winter. Even small cars can go just follow a solid surface.

Its one of the wonderful place in Abu Dhabi .Located near al wathab,Very nice Sand formation. Best place to take photos . We went Early morning its was very nice not crowded.No Need 4 W drive car to reach here.Note :This location drone not allowed.Restricted to climb dune .

It’s nice experience and even it’s a sandy we can reach near to dunes by car (4WD vehicles not necessary) . Better to wear glasses to protect eyes from sand. To reaching there only two way road is there and it’s filled with sand so cautious driving required. Drones restricted area.

Very nice place where we can spend a short evening. Calm and quiet area. Will be wonderful who loves nature.

Nice place for taking pictures as well as camping. This place is not so far from the city. Fossil Dunes formation is very close from the road (about 300 m).

Something unique to see there. Please be careful while driving through gutch especially the saloons.

A desert u can drive without a 4wd.Nice and short trip from Abu Dhabi. Google map will take you to proper destination.

Every review Ive read, was spot on, so Ill repeat the same info! Wonderful act of nature, but theres not much of it and silly humans have left rubbish all over the place. To make it worth while, take a blanket and a picnic and watch the sun go down once youve got your insta shots!

So only choose this place as destination to fossil dunes in your navigation app.Fossil dunes are hardened sand dunes shaped uniquely by desert wind . Though it looks hard these are breakable sandstones which changes its shapes very slowly unlike normal sand dunes. Normal sand dunes moves and changes shapes frequently according to wind.A hoodoo (also called a tent rock, fairy chimney, or earth pyramid ) is a tall, thin spire of rock that protrudes in the desert in dry, hot areas.Weathering is the process where rock decomposes or decays rocks . OHH ... Amazing. A must see place for anyone in Abu Dhabi.

Frankly speaking, the fossil formations of the rocks are not many, but they are distinctive, and there are no ropes or rock formations in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in any other place except this place. And the history to which it was exposed to a great deal and for many years, really Glory be to God, the greatness of God Almighty is manifested in these formations and their splendor
