The museum is really interesting, even to those not particularly interested in archaeology. The actually site however can only be walked in winter due to the ambient temperature. There is also a very nice cafeteria and a small library. The car parking is shaded. For the last 2-3 km Google Maps may take you (wrongly) through a non-asphalted road, but you will still get there…of the road are (but any vehicle can go).Entrance fee: 40 AED.

Visited the museum one fine February afternoon. Exhibits were interesting but it felt like could have showcased more. Maybe they’ll do that in the future 😄?Since I came on an afternoon, the place wasn’t crowded. I was able to take my time reading and admiring the exhibit.Too bad I visited on a whim and didn’t plan anything. Mleiha Archaeological Centre offers trips to the sites of the archaeological discoveries etc. I’ll come back in the future and will do the trip/s definitely. This place is a treasure trove of education and information on how our ancestors intelligently lived and thrived without all the modern tech we have right now.

Lovely small museum, it has so much more to give than you would think. There is covered parking, then you walk 1 minute to the building entrance, your are welcomed by extremely friendly staff and explained how it works and what it has to offer. The museum does tours and events when you book in advance. Entrance tickets were very reasonable. I think it was 25 per adult and 15 per child up to 12 years, but not 100% sure anymore. The museum is not very big but kept us busy for 1 hour. Everything is very well labeled and explained, all screens are working, there is a video in english and Arabic, lots of artefacts and many written explanations. We took our time and read it all. It end after the iron age. there is also a very nice cafe, with a menu and prices like any very good cafe in Dubai. Its called maleiha Cafe. We didnt buy anything but planned it for another time. We could have explored the outside but we came at lunch time in March and it was too hot then. Restroom facilities are super clean. Definitely worth a visit.

What a fabulous idea of bringing history to life. Ivan had patience and knowledge and made the workshop fun and interactive. You can also do a tour on your own vehicle or get a full experience from the team. The last 5 min ride to this archeological site is quite bumpy ride with no proper road, so a good 4x4 vehicle would be apt for the ride...overall a nice experience and enjoyed the site..

It took me less than 30 minutes from University City Sharjah to reach Mlieha Archaeology centre.  It’s a short tour if you don’t look at the info given with the exhibits but if you are interested in UAE history, you’re going to love this place.Well maintained centre with neat and clean washrooms, prayer rooms and cafeteria. This cafeteria is famous for its food and coffee.I also visited nearby tombs and wadi caves that are thousands of years old. These are not proper caves as there is very little space inside and it is advised not to enter these as there is a high danger of getting stuck or being injured by hard rocks.Admission ticket cost for the archaeological museum per family is 55aed.

It has potential but needs a lot of improvement. The museum is 25 aed and its quite small. There are no signs to redirect you from the museum to the other places of interest around the area. Also, its not really safe for those that visit the wadi/caves area. The paths are ready to give way anytime and someone can get hurt by falling rocks. But the area is beautiful!

Staff is extremely friendly, we even got taken into their back rooms to see some items that were not in display.Star gazing was very educational. depending on what time of year you go, you may see a lot or little. best thing to do is call ahead and ask the geologist, they will be very helpful. Camp site was really nice, as they had a fire pit, a big carpet to lay down on and separate tables for each group for meals. Tents are regular size, could fit up to 3 people. They will provide an air mattress and sleeping bag (no pillows). washrooms are in decent condition for a caravan.only down side is that the meals are not that tasty,

You MUST go!If you are in the UAE, the Mleiha Archaeological Centre is an absolute MUST go-see-do! The centre brings together the best of all worlds.*Nature, flora, fauna*The centre is located in the picturesque desert of Sharjah where the majestic, golden dunes sweep against rocky outcrops that date as far back as 70-90 million years. These are home to a plethora of fossils. There is also desert wildlife – as a quick look at the tracks in the dunes will reveal the nocturnal hunts of the Arabian red fox. The Mleiha landscape is also dotted with flora – some indigenous to the UAE like the ghaf and sidr trees.*Adventure*You can learn about all these things and more through the different tours they offer. There is also desert exploration in a 4X4 – a gentle ride, or dune bashing or a dune buggy tour for the adrenaline junkie. We’ve enjoyed both options in a 4x4 and the hair-raising, scream-inducing dune bashing is a favorite of mine. You can also explore the outcrops – Fossil Rock and Camel Rock – in other ways. You can trek or go on horseback. In addition to the horseback tours, the centre offers training as well. I’ve started those and the trainer Ahmed Sarhan is excellent: gentle, patient, firm, attentive, present, and clearly passionate about horses. If you’re like me and you can’t get enough – you have the choice of camping overnight. It is great! You just show up and they have everything ready for you: tent with inflatable mattress and sleeping bag, majlis seating area - both covered and under the stars - a campfire set-up, dinner with grills, dips, and salads, and breakfast in the morning. I can’t say enough how fulfilling this experience is.*History, archaeology, geology*You can also learn about the precious archaeological finds at the centre’s excellent museum. Honestly, there is so much to learn, I’d like to keep going back – and take copious notes! The reason why this particular site is unique, not just in the region, but in the world, is because it has not one, but TWO Stone Age settlements: Paleolithic and Neolithic. In addition to this, the centre has some outdoor archaeological sites too, all worth a visit, like Umm an-Nar Tomb and the Bronze Age Tombs at Jebel Faya. You can also learn a lot about the region’s tectonic past through the rock outcrops throughout Mleiha. They tell a fascinating story. Picture yourself on a mountain, placing your palm on the fossilized shell of a marine creature from 70 million years ago. It’s mind-blowing.*Astronomy*There’s tech too in the form of a powerful telescope. We don’t just look at the earth, we also look at the skies. The centre offers stargazing and if it’s your kind of thing and have a smart phone or camera with you, you can take incredibly beautiful photos of the moon through the telescope. If you’re a passionate photographer, there’s plenty to photo document during the day and night. The last time we went our guide used his camera lens to zoom into the nest of Bonellis’ eagles high on top of one of the mountains. We even heard the chick’s cries echoing during the night as we sat around the campfire.*Workshops*As if it weren’t enough to experience all this wondrousness first hand, the centre also offers a variety of workshops.*In conclusion*All these are available in both readymade and customizable packages.I first went to Mleiha with family and friends in 2015 and I’ve kept going back. There is so much to see, do, learn, and the centre keeps updating and upgrading the experiences so that every time we go there we are so comprehensively enriched, we just can’t wait for the next time! Through it all, we’ve had the expert guidance of Anurag Amin whose knowledge and passion for the region’s history, geology, archaeology, and wildlife are in itself a pleasure to experience. Over the years Anurag has organized and lead our experiences at Mleiha with dedication and excellent attention to detail. It’s not an exaggeration to say that when we have visitors, we make sure we take them to Mleiha for an unforgettable experience.

Great place to visit with children. The site which used to be the bottom of the ocean has actual fossils for them to discover. It is also a place where tectonic plates meet!!We also did a great activity where they made their own fossils. but would advise going only when the weather is cooler. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable which comes through when they show and tell visitors about their fossil collection.Bring a hat and be ready to walk in some sand and rocks.

If you are keen to know/learn about iron age, bronze age, this is the place to be. Sedans and SUV can go easily. The whole attractions are spread into eastern and western side - the tombs, caves, wadi, palace, forts, rocks etc. This location is beautifully maintained, perfect gateway from the busy city life. There is a coffee shop aswell. Posters are exhibited here inside main centre. It is AED 25 per person and Family AED 55. We came by this way on the way back from Hatta Dam. The building is in the middle of nowhere - at least that was how we felt because we took a dirt road via Google Maps to get there, and suddenly this large modern brown complex appeared. Proper large parking spaces. Well placed signages. We have been to the Louvre Abu Dhabi and Manarat Saadiyat, and this feels like a miniature version of it.Would highly recommend this place for history buffs. The museum has an indoor exhibit area (aed25 per entry for adults) with pieces from Palaeolithic, to Neolithic, Bronze then Iron ages, pre-Islamic and to modern Islamic times now. The pieces are carefully curated to show the culture and rituals of that era. Am amazed there is such a rich collection here. Set aside about an hour plus for the indoor museum. The cafe was beautiful with floor to ceiling glass walls to let the light in. Not much more expensive than the typical cafes in Dubai. We had the pulled chicken burger, which was delicious.Do not miss the outdoor sites around this centre. We spent well over 3 hours driving around exploring. Bring plenty of sunscreen and drinking water.Noticed that they have also outdoor activities like organised camping and off road biking tours. Sounds great to tie in with this visit and make it two days road trip here.

There is good signage to locate the place and the roads arent paved but are easy to use without 4x4. The facilities are clean and nicely done but customer service is poor and the overall experience is lacking. Once in the center, there are few signs and it is hard to understand and appreciate what you are seeing as a visitor.Their pamphlets are only in Arabic and the people working behind the counter in the center did not speak to us, welcome us, or acknowledge us until we tried to walk into the area you need to pay to enter. There was no sign that says what that area was or that you need to pay to enter. We chose not to pay as we didnt know what we would be paying for. It was clear the workers did not care if they had any visitors or not. I suppose the pay is the same either way.We drive to the cave and tomb sites easily without 4x4 and it Samir short hike and drive. Again, good signage is available in English. There really not much to look at and one area is fenced off so you cant really see what you are looking a .Overall, I wouldnt go out of my way just to visit this place. Really nice spot for a family visit. If you have a 4WD there lots to explore in the mountains and desert to the west (Fossil Rock area). The centre itself is educational and well run, theres a really nice cafe and its in a beautiful setting. Definitely recommend it.

Mleiha is a great place to learn about pre-Islamic history, visit some historical sights, do dune bashing and star grazing. We went for the Adventure package which includes all the above activities and dinner in the desert camp and can be found on Entertainer. We had a truly amazing experience which wouldnt have been so rich without a friendly and experienced staff of the Mleiha Archeological centre.Prabhakaran walked us through the Centre and historical sights sharing his knowledge of Mleiha history during the day and shown the star constellations, Moon and his favourite star Saturn through the huge telescope in a desert camp later at night.Shihab navigated the dunes as if he was driving a highway and made us feel really safe throughout our journey. We visited Fossil rock and debated for quite a while on the shape of the Camel rock. Later in the evening he drove us to the desert camp where we had a tasty dinner. If you are looking to discover new places in the UAE, Mleiha is definitely worth paying a visit and can be easily organized in a day trip with help of the Centre. Just book in advance!
