I wont say its awesome. Its just okay. The main minus I felt was, the number of artworks displayed is very less compared to the space available. Very big building but they have not utilized the space properly. Since the entry is free, you wont feel disappointed after your visit. It would have been better if they had included more sculptures and exhibits. However, its a good place to visit for art lovers.

The museum has a great art collection which we enjoyed watching. You would spend between 1-2 hours in this place, depending on how deeply you want to immerse yourself into art. There is a large collection on the 1st floor and its made of 2 wings representing two different art galleries.

Very interesting museum that displays not only works from Middle East, and some Western views as well. I like the material displayed and there are transitory expositions as well. When I went the museum was empty and it was very atmospheric to walk along the long corridors by myself. The cafe of the museum doesn’t offer anything, just water and coffee basically. The museum is free and I think it’s totally worth it if you’re around and like arts in general.

Superb art gallery and collections. Oil paint section was awesome. Nice lighting arrangements. They was offering very nice customer services. Recommending to increase the collections. The main attraction is its free of cost. The entry absolutely free. We can have a different experience by visiting the museum. Sharjah Museums Authority - SMA (Sharjah Museums Department – SMD previously) was established in 2006 by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, as an independent government department. With the opening of this stunning museum, you can now visit one of the largest art exhibitions in the Gulf region, which contains permanent collections and paintings by renowned artists. You can explore the history of the region through the fascinating masterpieces of local painters and Arab artists who have left an important mark in the local and Arab art world. Explore a three-storey museum dedicated to showcasing artistic creations and collections of more than 500 artworks of various mediums and techniques, featuring a range of expressive techniques that will spur your imagination. Throughout the year, the museum holds a variety of temporary exhibitions and art events. The Art Library consists of over 4000 titles in Arabic, English and other languages, along with visual and audio materials.

The Sharjah Art Museum is the centerpiece of the Arts Area in Sharjah. Located in a large building, this museum is extremely spacious and has a good collection of art, both in its permanent gallery as well as from the temporary exhibitions. The museum is so large that, it can hold many exhibitions simultaneously.Entrance to the museum is free and one needs to deposit their belongings in lockers near the reception. Galleries are well-spread out. The museum has many wings, each hosting a different exhibition. From local artists to international collections of note, this has something of all. From paintings to sculptures and artworks, there is a lot to see and admire here. One can easily spend 2-3 hours just taking in all the collections this museum has to offer. To get here, one must closely follow directions as per Google Maps, as the building is in a rather busy area and not that easy to find. While here, one can also check out the art collections at the Bait Al Serkal next door.

Situated in the midst of lots of tiny alleys, the Sharjah Art Museum was a Really great place. Lots of galleries with looads of great contemporaty and old artworks, with a central focus on Arab artists and pieces in the upper gallery, whilst the lower gallery (ground floor) is about temporary exhibitions. Not many people (went on a Sat morning), but staff were nice and friendly.Paid parking outside (5dhs for 2 hours), and nice area to walk around with traditional architecture and creek as well. Lots of clothing shops nearby and some food places if you walk a little further away.Overall great for art lovers.

Love this place. It always seems to be free of charge, but I would definitely pay if I had to! A really interesting permanent collection with a diverse range of art works, but also unusual exhibitions. None of your Picassos, Modiglianis, etc., but great art nonetheless. The current - until Dec 2021 - Hans Christian Andersen exhibition is well worth a visit, with plenty of hands-on exhibits. Great if you are familiar with his work. Other exhibitions we have seen are also very high quality. Lovely and peaceful - a wonderful resource.

Beautifully curated museum. It currently has an exhibition about Hans Christian Anderson and his fairytales. We learn that he wasnt only away with the fairies outside his writing but we are left considering the possibility that he believed he was one himself. That aside, there are some interesting pieces of art. It would be lovely to see a little more info about the lesser known Middle Eastern artists. All in all, Im going to put this on my top favourite list of museums visited. One more thing, the front desk staff are absolutely delightful.
