The worst school in Dubai.I’m regret that I enroll my kids this year!I’m outside from 1:30 pm to pick up my kids now it’s 2:30 and we still waiting in the road we didn’t get inside. They don’t know how to organize they make all the student pick up from the front gate and that’s make more traffic and they don’t listen to us I’m always calling them after one minute if you need to speak to someone they will interrupt your call they don’t want to hear your voice and advice them.not caring about the kids waiting outside in the sun for more than 30 mins with the mask on.They just enroll students and they make new building to bring more people and take money that’s it! They don’t know how to organize the situation.they care about the money not parent or kids that have been waiting outside with the mask and sun for more than 30 min then take them back inside then after they put them back again outside it’s really bad how they react.I will move my kids next term please don’t put your kids here if you care about them.

This school should be seriously questioned about the huge number of students they are accepting in each class section. The classes are very crowded with +30 students. and yesterday my daughter told me that the teacher was not able to control and she lost her temper. I cant blame the class teacher because teachers are also human and nobody can control such crowded classes especially in foundation stages. the number of students they are taking is giving the parents a nightmare during pick up and drop off time. I prefer to double my budget and move my daughter to another school than living in this situation everyday!.kids will learn nothing in this crowded classes.my daughter keep accidentally hit other students when she move inside the class!. can anybody imagine?!.Also, they let the students sit on the floor inside the class, they cant provide enough chairs for kids in each section.WHY OUR KIDS SHOULD SIT ON THE FLOOR DURING THE PANDEMIC??!!!!.

We just relocated to Dubai and we did our research and know the good and the bad. So there was no surprises there. Ultimately the happiness of my kids is the real litmus test. Only 4 weeks have passed and it is probably too early to judge but so far what have we as parents learnt? The school listens. The school addresses critical concerns and the school takes on board fair and practical solutions. The school has 5000 kids but you what what? So did my kids school in London bang in the centre of the capital and it is rated outstanding just like GEMS. After an unfortunate unforgettable and rather historic year of pandemic, and the interruption that this has caused worldwide and especially to children and students, GEMS has excelled to try to make the return experience and for new students as smooth as possible and they have succeeded I think given the circumstances. Enjoy the happiness of the kids, support the school and its society to the fullest, abide by the logistics rules and procedures and I am sure it will be a fantastic year for everyone. Multicultural society is an envy and I am happy that my kids at least are experiencing this through a British curriculum as well as an educational basis. I am sure it will continue to get better from here and as parents we should all try to work together to watch our kids flourish and grow and enjoy and be the beacons of the future and being at GEMS is a booster for that. Thanks GEMS for making our transition so far supportive and transparent and constructive and despite the unfortunate 4*4 hiccups 😉😂 results are bearing sweet fruit all around.

I regret enrolling my son here last year during the pandemic due to loss of job we had to move in Al Barsha. My son had been to other schools like Pristine Private School and Deira International School. Those schools were very organize in terms of proper communication from his instructors and bus were on time, teachers were polite and professional. Today, his first day in school, bus should have picked him up at 6:50. I called the driver at 6:50 on the dot, he told me he left. I asked him why he said my son was not there, I told him he came down before 6:50 and he’s there right now, or least he should have gave me a missed call just like the other school bus drivers, he just hang up the phone. That was very unprofessional and rude. The school should also teach their staff on how to behave accordingly towards their students and parents. If they impose discipline and good manners to their students then that should also reflect on their staff.

GOAT. Spent 2 years here, graduated from this school in 2020. Honestly, idk what these parents with the 1 star reviews are on about but GFS really offers amazing facilities compared to most schools in the same category and also a lot of support when it comes to Uni selection and application. Love this school.

As a Gems Founders Graduate (2020), what this school offers for the fees they charge is commendable, The teachers are really supportive and facilities are amazing compared to other schools in the same fee range. Sure there may be more traffic now but thats the case in almost any school unless its in an isolated area, Simply arrive at the school earlier to avoid traffic, its not that hard :).

A parent at the school for a few years and unfortunately as much as we liked the school in previous years, the start of the new year has been utter disappointment and chaos! The school has increased enrollments without suitable arrangements or considerations of how it would negatively impact the children and parents. As much as parents expected the newly acquired spaces to enable the school to have fewer students per class and social distancing to be maintained, it is not so at all. Instead the number of sections for each grade have been increased! Corridors at the school are extremely crowded and I can assure you that my kids have atleast 32 students in their class. Yes I know that complies by the KHDA, but just for new parents to know, yes the school and classes are crowded!Even after acquiring a whole new building my kids have said they sometimes do their PE in classrooms(because of lack of bigger spaces) where there is barely enough space for all the kids to do some exercise, so forget about social distancing!Drop off and pick up are a battle everyday and parents have been standing in queues for an hour to pick their kids up while kids wait in the hot sun! It is a sight to see parents and kids trudging along the sandy areas, parking their cars far away just to avoid getting into the traffic near the school! The solution the school provides is to enroll kids into buses that charge exorbitant fees and kids still reaching home after 1-1.5 hrs of travel in the bus.Teachers are under enormous pressure due to large class sizes. A teacher in my childs class actually spent a whole class not teaching because the kids were being noisy and even after the class was quiet he/she refused to teach and wasted the whole class. All this shows how crowded classes are testing the teachers patience levels and affecting the kids academics. Some new teachers hired are hired directly from other curriculums with no previous teaching experience with the British Curriculum. While Im all in support of multi-cultural schools and native or non-native teachers dont matter to me(my kids have had amazing non-native teachers in previous years), but experience definitely does!As much as I would like to move my kids the only reason we are still here is because of the reasonable fees as compared to the much more expensive schools in the vicinity and because my kids dont want to leave their friends, but I feel it now comes at the cost of our kids education! The school isnt willing to make any changes! Repeated complaints from parents have received a standard robotic reply from the school that we are following all KHDA guidelines! Not true as our kids have told us how crowded the corridors get everytime they are changing classes! If you can afford a higher fees I would definitely not recommend new parents to enroll their kids at GFS, after the start of this year!

We were really happy with the school as of last year. This year, only 2 days in and getting to school is an absolute nightmare. Waiting for our little one for hours in the morning and hours in the afternoon to pick him up. Car park is non-existence, chaos, and huge queues of cars in this scorching heat. I dont know how we can do this every day, 5 days a week!Update: School made very positive changes to alleviate the problem!

It is a British curriculum school and their British teachers are available in very minimal percentage. They are proud of their mixed culture and teacher are from every where..even a class assistant can be a teacher!!! Some of them are not qualified to be a class teacher and speaks weird English..but if you ever want to raise your concern, the management will definitely not listen to you and support their teacher no matter what.

To be fair, there are good and bad comments.. we shouldnt give negative feedback because there are many good things we can highlight but a couple of things if they fix them this will change the school rating to better.. one of this issue is the density of students (above 4300 students) and the second issue not all the teaching staff are qualified or I would say some teachers are below the expectations.

This is our first year with this school and absolutely nightmare experience so far from uniform purchasing to IT dept to transport department to general management, to put in one line, they are not capable to admit 5000+ kids, its simply not possible with their current vendors and infrastructure. No teaching assistants which means teachers are overloaded in classes which usually compose of 35+ kids... uniform is not available due to shortage, the company which is offering uniform ask to get appointment which you will never get from their app due to technocal flaw, the quality of uniform is pathetic, ordered online 15 days ago and so far only rcvd half of the order, pick n drop is absolute chaos which shows school managemeng was simply sleeping during last 2 months and had prepared nothing to respond to needs of thousands of kids, kids have asked to stand in open areas (though with shades) but still v hot for young kids in dubai weather, Authorities should immediately intervene and ask school management some serious questions. My Suggestion to GEMS: Urgently open your Al Waha GFS campus to divide the load on GFS Al barsha...

I have spent only two years at Founders as a student, and it has been full of positive experiences.I joined GFS for the Sixth form, and while it was a jump from my GCSEs, I felt the learning approaches prepared students well for university. For instance, the sciences have guided reading, which involves doing some prior research on the topic at hand. Adopting this approach will help students better understand what they are learning when exposed to the lecture teaching style at university, which will not be as interactive as in school. The teachers are friendly and motivating at GFS. They are specialised in their subjects and are very passionate about teaching. They recognise potential and go to great lengths to make sure a student understands the topic taught. The teachers have helped their students improve their grades considerably, which shows in the fantastic results achieved by the school. There are numerous leadership opportunities throughout the year groups, from primary and secondary. Students are comfortable sharing their thoughts and have a distinct voice in what takes place at school. The senior leadership team, including the Principal, Mr Matthew, are very involved in student leadership meetings. They are supportive of our ideas and see that they get implemented.I understand everyone’s experience at school is different, but I had a wealth of opportunities here. I cannot stress the fact how much I love GEMS Founders school. GFS has been the best decision for me for Sixth Form; it helped me develop a growth mindset, the confidence to believe in myself and take decisions independently. I have grown tremendously during my time here and loved every moment.

Their remote learning offering is fantastic and they constantly seek to improve themselves. The teachers seemlessly endeavour teaching complex study material so successfully that I am not involved with the studies of my younger kids (Years 3 & 4) and go on with my own office work. There are obviously flaws with every school, but non with GEMS FOUNDERS SCHOOL that make it a deal breaker for me. I cannot recommend them enough.

FULL REVIEW OF SCHOOL FROM A STUDENT I was a student at this school in the senior level. This is one of the worst schools your child can go to it has very few opportunities because all their opportunities are spread out and not concentrated in a single feild which senior students need. The school is extremly crowded and not how you would expect a gems school to be this school has an extremely crowded canteen the toilets are filled with students there is no place to walk . The school counselor are horrible they have no clue what subjects are required to study certain degrees people absolutely hated talking her and out of the senior school management staff people were only comfortable talking to one person because she has the brains to understand what students go through. Half the time the teachers kept pestering you during your free time. The teachers are extremely nosy and the staff at the school have a very disrespectful behaviour. Moreover the education staff at this level should be able to understand the needs of senior students and they are not able to this. There are tons of complaints of rasict teachers in the school altough no one takes action against them turst me there are tons of them in here when i brought this issue up i was automatically shut down by the senior eduction team because frankly they dont care. The school handeled the coronavirus in such a pathetic way during the begining of the pandemic. During both coronavirus years children were given their predicted grades let me tell you how this school derives them. On the first day of school your child will be given a paper of the things he will learn in the academic year which means he knows absolutely nothing about the test then a test is taken and most likely children will fail when they do a starting predicted of a U or E is given the school holds these tests every few months so about 3 times a year once you have a U predicted how much can you improve this grade to a B max while tiring yourself out. This is an extremely stupid way of testing students how is anyone supposed to know this imagine giving a first year student a 3 year paper they are never going to pass it. The prinicipal of the school is so disconnected with his students you see him once in a blue moon in gems schools the prinicipals make sure to meet the students once in a while to be in the loop and take suggestions. Infact lots of students have dropped out and gone to university after only one year. Those who stayed never got offers from the universities they wanted to go to. You have absolutely no opinion in the school as a student they do not care about you all they want is their money you would better going to a public school in dubai. I have personally seen people crying at this school due to their grades and these students are exceptionally smart but because of their predicted grades system they do not get what they want. I can write about this school all day all I can say is think a hundred times before sending your children into this poor excuse of a school.

Our kid was studying here until 2 years ago. Honestly, we faced a terrible experience with the inclusion team w.r.t our child who was discovered to be having a speech-language delay. We were repeatedly pestered by the teachers, with vain complaints on the childs behaviour which in fact was stemming from the very way the kid was being treated by her teachers.During one of the PTMS, I was extremely disappointed to see her male class teacher openly intimidating our then 5-year-old, to a point that the kid began stuttering even while knowing the answers, began crying and became unable to reply his questions. It seemed he was hell bent on proving that our child is a no-good at anything. Visibly, the childs confidence and self-esteem levels had hit a tremendous rock-bottom, after which we decided it is no good to continue further.2 years fast forward, after change of school under the same curriculum. the child (without the need for any inclusion or IEP as the teachers in GFS always seemed to push) scores an E and WA in every subject, thanks to the encouragement and support of the new school and teachers. The kid has grown bright, happy and confident now. We knew we were taking the perfect decision when we decided to move on.The strength of a school clearly lies in how their team supports weaker students and encourages a turn-around. Regret to say, we were immensely disappointed by this school, in our expectations in this regards.

I don’t know why there are so many negative reviews. The only issue is the pick up and drop off area being too crowded. If you take the bus this wouldn’t be an issue. From a Secondary students point of view I can say that this school has helped my average grades go from a D to an A/B. I never thought i would be capable of this but all my lessons have motivated me to study and actually work hard. The teachers are really friendly and professional and so is all the staff including this heads and the principal. Mr. Matthew actually engages with students unlike other principals I’ve seen. Not all the students are nice but what school has students that are entirely nice? I’ve studied in different schools and this is one of the best I’ve been to. I’m doing my boards this year and I’m confident I’ll do well thanks to my teachers. Founders deserves so much more credit for how great of a school it is.- The student POV you needed to hear

This is a good school – and potentially an outstanding one. Unfortunately we can see a lot of comments here that describes the opposite... it’s a shame that none is taking care of these issues. The school does need to do more with its front facing information for parents, but we do not want to take away anything from all that has been achieved so far by the teachers, parents, leadership – and most importantly the children at this young school with what we think is a very bright future. Subject to al the caveats of a new school, GEMS has nailed my recommendation.

It was our decision to put them in this new school which was in the construction stages and till date we are extremely happy and satisfied. Our decision was not only based on fees, curriculum or facilities but purely on the research of the Leadership team.Mr. Mathew and his Senior Leadership Team are passionate towards their school and students. They have a great vision for the future for students overall development .As the quote saysLeaders do not make followersLeaders make more leaders.Being only three years in education, the school is in the making of an outstanding school with everyone working hard towards it.The superb multinational environment of the school gives both teachers, students and parents to understand global perspective in new dimensions related to language, culture, sports and academics. The school encourages parents involvement in a healthy way to support the kids. As a parent your concerns are heard and given the best possible solution. We are very happy that our kids are in a superb learning environment which involves happiness, knowledge , character and mindfulness.

GEMS Founders School is a very young yet absolutely fantastic school.I have two children attending Year 1 and Year 3 in this school and they are beyond excited every morning to go to school which tells me that they are enjoying learning. Many aspects of the school have improved since last year starting from leadership structure ( head of each year group, head of each key stage, head of primary and secondary) trough after school activities, cantina etc.School was always very honest about areas which needed improvement and they were updating parents about any change. Some of the teachers are quite young but that doesnt mean they are not good.I was new in my job once as we all did at some point. To me it is important that they are enthusiastic, that they love their job and are good with my children. I can see that they are learning academic stuff as well as how to be good people which is equally important . It was a bit hectic during first few days in terms of transportation, pick up and drop of however it is already significantly better. As for the Principal he is there every morning with his entire team greeting parents and students and is available for chat .I havent seen that in my previous schools . I am talking here as a parent and as an employee of the school I can tell you that if I wasnt satisfied with my childrens progress they would not be in GFS.I know how hard everyone is working and how many things have changed based on the parent feedback. I love the spirit of the school and I love that it makes my children happy.

We visited GFS in Barsha on 29th May 2018 for a scheduled tour of the facility and was overall satisfied with the school with the exception of the female staff at the school transport desk who had a serious attitude issue. She was not at all welcoming neither seemed interested in providing us with proper information regarding school transport pickup and drop off timings.

I have 2 kids in the school , the teaching is not up to the level, teachers are most fresh graduate.TEACHING AND LEARNING GOALS ARE NOT ACHIEVED, ONE OF MY KID FINISH FS2 AND NOW IN YEAR 1 CAN NOT WRITE OR READ WELL AND ALSO HER COLLEAGUES?!!This year we are so frustrated school added suddenly about 1700 to be overall 3400 students without improving any thing from last yearI was really shocked from crowdness and school expand beyond its capacity and without even improving past year experienceNew FS classes doe snot have bathrooms, they are not minded even about hand washNew building does not have even dispenser for hand washing , no infection control, kids are frequently absent due to sickness especially in foundation stage and year 1In addition to disorganization in drop off and picking up due to too much students beyond school capacity, buses are so late even own transport like us are suffering too muchoverall experience is really bad, school expanded and ignore quality.

Disappointed....if your child doesnt speak good English, they will reject him. Even after they assure you that they have a special team to support non-english speakers.

I removed my child fro this school. Money minded, no teaching at all. I can tell you one thing the principal is one useless person. He says every time FINE very great etc etc soaping words. never believe. Teachers have NO EXPERIENCE AT ALL.. THEY JUST COME OUT FROM COLLEGE. INTO DRINKS AND PARTY.. LOST ALL ETICS . why Gems which has an Indian founder would hire these idiots? This principal is a British person ,he try to take people only from Europe ,shows off. That all.My honest opinion remove your child from this school as soon as possible.Send this principal and group back to their country as soon as possible.Teachers should have minimum 5 years above experience in their field, 10 years is more better. you please understand you are giving education.Shame for Gems having this useless founders school, and Principal .They will spoil Gems names for sure. The Authorities should take necessary actions towards it. WHY DONT YOU CHECK THE EXPERIENCE CERTIFICATE AND CHARACTER CERTIFICATE OF THIS TEACHERS?SCHOOL AUTHORITIES ARE BIG CHEATERS. TEACHERS MOSTLY ARE GREAT DRUNKERS....THEY ARE VERY GOOD AT THIS NOT TEACHING.

The experience starts off with trying to pull out information from the person over the phone, who has a bad attitude, then she tells you there are no vacancies, please register and pay your 500 AED, then you visit the school for a tour and they make you wait for 30 minutes. All in all a horrendous experience. They just take advantage of the system. Would never recommend this institution.

Well I moved to Dubai from United States, and my kid Is in Gems foundersSchool. I would love to say the school is not upto the mark,in all levels . Quality teachers are not there, well I asked few times admin. they said LOVELY, especially Mr Matthew .I am personally not happy at all. Recently I heard from Gems Recruitment people, that they had provided excellent teachers but Mr Matthew and his team went to London and picked freshers. Even they found it as very STRANGE BEHAVIOUR. This is a RACIST CHARACTER.I dont understand how this guys will train kids.See teachers need experience, after pursuing studies they should work at least 3 to 5 years in their own country, that gives them a lot of experience ..This is Education M.r Matthew , and we are living 2017 not 1850. Quality people are everywhere, I seen Asian countries are more dedication than Europe and even United States. Because Mostly Europe and United States people are not serious in all levels because they have everything. So they dont bother about a lot of things. Hard work is very far from these guys.I suggest Gems Seniors will think about this matter in very serious way.A lot of schools these days hires family oriented and highly experienced teachers.Because I think family based experienced teachers will work better way and stay back also long years . I asked couple of teachers about various programs in school , they said they dont know, same as admin. too.I am shocked about all this ,Gems founders school, I had even asked about quite a good number of parents , even they are not happy too.You cannot hire people simply from college, and train our kids. what a nasty behaviour? and I am wondering who gave permission for them to do this ?why UAE government didnt ask any documents?I lost all the respect of Mr Sunny Varkey and his team to allow this guys to do this way? Some other field may you can do that. But this is educating kids , it needs very experienced and talented teachers.Anyway this is absurd. For my kid I can say no improvement at all in all levelsI have got nothing more to sayVery Disappointed..

The school could be good without the Principle Mr. Ian, I dont think he is qualified to manage secondary level, running behind kids like school supervisor, and looking for superficial solution instead of root causes.

Many people does not know that British and American Education is very poor.Teaching is an Art. Teachers should come with Min.10 years or at least 5 years above experience. This school is hiring teachers without any experience, which is not so impressive. They just hiring unqualified and without any experience teachers from mostly European countries, to show people . Best education comes from countries like japan, Korea , Sweden, Denmark , Russia, Germany . Even india has very good education. Thats why you can find best Scientists, Doctors, IT, etc etc.I like Gems schools etc but i have a serious doubt about this school , because i personally seen very lack of experience .They dont hire right people. its just show off. Most of them are fun loving. you can see directly through some social websites , you will really amaze these great teachers. Not all of them , but mostly. Some times simple school is more better for children i believe.

My child has been studying in this school for the past two years and we are really glad how the school takes care of the academics as well as the extra curriculum activities. When the school started in September we faced lot of trouble for two weeks while dropping the child in the morning and also while picking up in the afternoon. But now the situation has improved a lot. The parking and the traffic has been perfectly managed by the school and now before 8:00 am the roads to the school both front and backside is clear. Also in the afternoon the traffic is moving and doesnt take much time to park and pick the child. Previously everyone used to enter through the back gate of the school and it used to be terribly crowded and parents were also not maintaining any social distance. But now the front gates are open for picking the children through the football field which is vast enough. Thanks to the endless support of the management and also to all the staff who work tirelessly in this heat.Note to parents: Please be considerate to other parents by parking in the right spots and also to the supporting staff by being compassionate.
