Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary(Arabic: رَأْس ٱلْخَوْر‎, romanized: Raʾs Al-Khawr) is a wetland reserve in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, renowned for attracting migratory birds in large numbers. The wetlands have large numbers of birds, crustaceans, small mammals and fish.

A juxtaposed calmness in the middle of the desert and city towers - a natural reserve mangroves with thriving wildlife (not truly wild as the birds are taken cared of with human-intervened feedings). Nevertheless, a lovely surprise in all-that-jazz of Dubai! If you are into nature and less of the city glamour - this is a really nice place to just sit and hear the sounds of nature (unfortunately, you will hear the road side noises a bit too). Free entrance and only open during weekdays until 17.30.

The nature is perfect I love it, I did meditation and love to connect with nature. only the problem was security didnt allow to stay more time, even though nobody are there. I wonder why they didnt allow to stay there, while the place is empty. At the end unpleasant experience with security. While I was staying he stop the AC.

The Location is not apt, where the google location map ends, still need to go further straight towards right lake and in another 5 mins drive the board for ras al khor sanctuary will be seen. Worth a visit as it’s free. But no access to come close to the beautiful flamingo. There is an area where you sit and watch them from far which currently has a time frame 15mins due to restriction of number of people to allow.Just one tym visit, not a picnic spot.

Best place for birds lovers and photographers .. Very calm and quiet place. No entry fee. Limited parking. Better to go at the time of feeding, all birds will come near to viewing point.

Nice place for a 1-2 hour visit. Entry is free. The cabins are small and places to sit are limited. Morning bird feeding time is between 10-11AM in November, 2019. They have an evening bird feeding time as well. Best to go to the Flamingo Shelter directly. Although a public telescope is available in the cabin, its best to carry your own optical equipment to enjoy the experience.Parking outside can be a problem. Sandy parking is available outside the Flamingo Shelter just after the exit on the right. The shelters are about 2 km from each other and travel by car is recommended. Toilets and wheelchair accessible entrances are available on site

We loved this place. Its so calming and relaxing. We visited twice already. One in the morning at 10am, where the flamingos are feeding and at 5pm where they are more playful. We brought our binocular for the second visit and appreciate the view more seeing the birds in details. An awesome place for nature lovers and its for free people!

I never imagined that in a desert country there can be this paradise. This is a nicely maintained bird sanctuary by the government. It is free to a visitor, there is car parking and a few view points from where you view the flemingos.People go here with a lot of camera hardwares, go early to get place as viewpoints are small, winter is best time, avoid Friday as it cam be crowded. Dont miss the feeding point, feeding time is around 9:30 am but can vary a bit.A great place for visit, dont forget small children and their noise can irritate others.

Get a binocular if you got one youll enjoy doing that but they do have limited telescopes there for your use that dont really give you that much of a nice view and entrance is free.

This review is not about the sanctuary but about the map directions. I tried reaching the location shown on Google maps through different directions and kept going round and round for more than an hour but could not get to the place unfortunately. The location shown ends at a construction site where only construction vehicles are allowed.I also tried to find Ras Al Khor Mangrove Hide and the location for that took me to the other side of E44 to the Emarat petrol pump which is opposite to the gate of the Mangrove Hide. The map suggested to walk across the road for a min to reach the gate which is not possible as it is an expressway. I dont understand this. Please look into. Thanks
