The museum displays thousands of golden, bronze and iron pieces, discovered at the Saruq Al Hadid archaeological site in the Rub al Khali desert, south of the emirate of Dubai. The Arabian Peninsula’s Iron Age at the newly-opened museum in Dubai’s Historical District - a confluence of the past and the present. Location near Shindaga.Huge mature ficus tree in the courtyard adds to the ambience and shade. The work is immense and will probably take decades to unearth. Dubai archaeological museum Museum related to UAE history, boating, food courts.
Well laid out with sufficient but not overwhelming amount of information, exhibits. Kids were engaged by looking for special signs in the exhibits plus digging for artefacts in the outdoor sand pits.Very nicely renovated/reconstructed building. Pleasant courtyard, specially in early March during our visit.Huge mature ficus tree in the courtyard adds to the ambience and shade. It is impressive to see how Dubai is deepening cultural activities such as Archeology, History. Unfortunately practically all the archeologists on the videos are not Emirati. The work is immense and will probably take decades to unearth.
Nice place to hangout with friends and family and also you canspend lot of time with kids
I highly recommend to visit Saruq Al-Hafid Museum. It should be a mandatory visit for all the Dubai students and residents.
For me discovering the existence of this museum right in my neighborhood was nothing less than thrilling (and not to be too dramatic almost as good as when the sight was first sighted itself. Im sure you can compare the joy!). The museum is small but easily accessible from the al ghubaiba metro station, the abras or even the bus station itself, the signs along the historical shindagha area can also help you easily locate the museum. The entry fee is 20 AED and is well worth it considering the level of preservation and maintenance of the finds. When you are admitted into the museum you are first provided an a/v experience of how Saruq al-Hadid was actually discovered, followed by a brief explanation of some of the finds, the symbols on various objects from these finds and perhaps how or why it came into being and some interesting theories. There are some unique finds from the stone age but predominantly from the iron age. Various arrowheads, swords, fishing hooks (was there a river here in the middle of the desert?), camels anklets (wow now thats a first for me), jewelry (with material that traces Saruq al-Hadids connections to the Indus valley, whoa!), lots of snakes either on the weapons, the pottery or simply as objects indicating some sort of immense relevance of snakes in the lives of inhabitants of Saruq al-Hadid. The people of this place were experts in artistry related to gold as well! The expo symbol is directly inspired from the find itself. Wow I was taken aback and really wished the museum was bigger and I could see everything! Well the dig is still in progress since 2002 as archaeologists try and understand more about this chance discovery and Im sure about the UAE itself. If you are a history buff like me (a very amateur one at that) or are simply curious to explore something apart from the sights and sounds, then go for this unique jewel of a museum!
The best museum for children in Dubai. Well done, the booklet for children is very well made, and staff super friendly and child focused. We had again such an amazing experience. This time I took family from Europe along and my sister in law said it was again the best example of Arabic hospitality and friendliness. I can highly recommend this museum for adults and children, particularly 6-12 years.
I loved it. A beutiful and modern display, allows a clear understanding of the evolution of the human settlement in the last 15.000 years. Incredible gold masterpieces and artistic bronze and iron artifacts representing jumping lions and liquid snakes are well complemented with educational videogames for the younger visitors. A pearl.
Good historical place, every one should go,who are in Dubai & many off things u will know, very silent place,& boating facility, very cheap
Very good museum to visit while walking on old Dubai creek sides. The artifact shown are amazing. They also have free tour guidance.

A beautiful museum for those interested in culture, history and archeology. It contains monuments and artifacts from the Saruq al-Hadid civilization that dates back to the Iron Age, including swords, gold rings and a lot more .. I really recommend visiting it.
The history of the country is shown here. It is very interesting and there are various pictures and ceremonies that are represented in doll shapes. Unfortunately, a lot of tourists are passed through and you can not really enjoy the thing or read the reports. There are currently 15 million tourists in Dubai and by 2020 it should be 25,000 million. A pity!!
A very brief place on the most beautiful artifacts discovered in the site of the largest and largest archaeological iron swords in terms of the amount of pieces discovered
Playful, clear, and all the parts are well presented
A beautiful museum displays history in a contemporary fashion
Nice place. Beautiful site. To visit in Dubai.
Small museum complex peto of very high historical level. Essential to understand the geopolitics of the Middle East
A beautiful little museum in a cultural city Al Shandagha. It is not as rich as the museums of the Mediterranean countries but it reflects as well the ancient culture of this region and more precisely that of the archaeological site of Saruq Al Hadid.
Jameel tells the Emirati heritage
