Good experience eating special Biryani. It is their authentic Thalappakatti biryani from Dindigul. We enjoyed same taste as we had it in Dindigul back in India. It nice to find India has some many variants of Biryani. Only drawback is that their staff has to be little more courteous and understanding. It may be due their lack knowledge. The portions are really enough for one person.Good food and good taste.
Prices are reasonable. But im not a big fan of heavy cinnamon influence in Briyani. Their gobi 65 is excellent. Parotta is yummy. The vegetables chettinad was exceptionally spicy (hot). Heavy spiciness does not mean better taste. Brass tumblers were smelly. My family had mutton soup and a fierce version of chicken lollipop. Both were very spicy.
Sometimes the reviews could be quite misleading. I was looking forward to a delightful authentic experience but what I got was a rude shock, utter disgust and left with a feeling of being cheated outright.I went to the Zabeel Street branch on 22nd Mar in the evening. Chicken Varrutha Kari looked delicious on the menu (picture) and chose it for my main course whilst making a specific request to the server to ensure it wasnt very spicy. It was meant to be a semi dry chicken curry with boneless chicken cubes. What I received was nothing like the menu (picture). It honestly appeared as the server had cleared someones plate and doled it out to me. I raised my concern with the server but was told that it is always like this.Hoping that the poor presentation might be compensated by the taste, unfortunately that wasnt the case. It appeared that the chef had dropped a whole box of black peppers on top of this mushy mess. Unable to even sallow a single bite of this acidic fiery curry, I ate the two chapatis ( cold and hard) on their own.I was hoping that the server would show some concern, quite the contrary he asked me if I would like to have another chapati.I was promptly presented a bill of AED 37, no regrets, apologies or even a courtesy gesture. Paid up the bill and promised never to step foot in this establishment.
Taste- 5starsServing- 4 stars (The starters will come after the main course)Staff attitude- 5 stars (very polite and always attentive)
Very tasty tamilnadu style biriyaniKeep it up, mutton was so tender
Well its authentic south Indian food! If you love spice and the loudness of India then this definitely the place for you.
Biryani is tasty but non veg meals is a must try...
Dindigal Thalapakatti biriyani is a famous tamil style biriyani and this restaurant is offering the taste here in dubai. Biriyani was very good and I was here on 2 separate occasions. But I feel the prices are very high for the other dishes and not justified. As an example they are charging around 5/- AED for a poratta and I wonder who else in dubai charges this for similar standards.
One of the best Mutton biriyani I had.
Mutton soup and mutton chukka excellent a must try
Sometimes food can give you a warm hug and reminds you of home. Our visit to Dindigul Thalappakatti did just that and more. Yummy food, superb & timely service and good ambience.Getting parking in the weekends is tough, though there is a parking lot on the road behind the restaurant. Giving a 5 star because the restaurant did what it is meant to do and made it worth walking far to&from the parking in this heat.Keep it up!
Seeraha samba rice biryani, same great taste as that of dindigul town, india. Also the grills and other items on menu is tasty
If u like biriyani with brown rice with a pinch of spice then this is the place... Loved their biriyani, mutton liver roast and my daughter loved their tawa fish..
Food was nice. Good spice and taste that Ive come to expect and love from Tamil Nadu. Bit pricey though. Not sure if its worth the price.
I visited thalapakatty briyani..Mr.Ashwin serviced very well and price also very good.Ambience also good
Taste is ok but very low quantity for biryani.Prices also high for the lot of items
Not of my family liking... its a favorite place for tamilians. We ordered their famous mutton biryani. .it was so dry and not tasty.Ordered chicken curry suggested by the waiter but not ok.. forget the name of the Curry it was like a chicken mince curry.
Spacious restaurant. Ordered for few dishes, but felt all dishes had same masala base, there was no much difference in taste. But it was good.
Worst service. Ordered the food at 12:57PM over phone. when I reached there at 1:40PM after half an hour driving I was told that food will be ready at 2:15PM. The kids were really hungry and drove back without anything. My order was not small it was around AED: 350. It was for a kids birthday party.
Price is high. Yesterday we bought 2 nannari sarbath it was very worst no lemon only water they gave. But they charged 10.50dhs for this nannari water. Please do better. Bad experience.
No need to give explanation for dindigul thalapakatti biriyani. Good place to taste the biriyani.
Perfect serve.. simply superb.. overall Good ... π
Ction about the origin, but unfortunately many of the items are not ready to be served. In my short requirement, gobi 65 and vanilla milkshake were not available, which are not really uncommon things, and also when they are featured with images in the menu.β’Also I asked for a Aatkul mutton soup at 16 dhs and I was served a different soup, which came at 13 dhs.β1. Coming to the taste, the Mutton boneless biriyani was quite good and bereft of any unnecessary spice overloads and coloured rice. Thats great. They use a speciality rice which is small and tasty. I would have preferred a mutton bone-in biriyani, but they dont have that. There are many pieces of bonesless cubes of meat alongwith a boiled egg. Quantity is just right for a single person. It also came with a small bowl of onion raita and a dal. These are not significant.2. Melagu Mutton soup. I wanted the aatkul soup though. Medium quantity. Taste is slightly spicy hot, but otherwise nothing special. Till its hot, its quite okay. Nalli/long bones are slow cooked. 12 -13 dhs.3. Lime soda. Small size. 9 dhs. Authentic. Liked it.Overall its a place for diners who have special memories of the chain from its point of origin and has happy memories. For new visitors its touch and go.β’ They also have some combo veg and non veg thali offers at reasonable price. These may appeal to the office goers. Actually the price point is pretty reasonable.β’The food comes in a banana leaf cutout which is over a steel plate. Also the glasses are of traditional metals. Good feels.
My one of the favorite hotel. All dishes are nice.
Aside from the often very turbulent high class tourist areas of Dubai, you can find a lot of very interesting restaurants of excellent quality in the suburbs. The Dindigul Thalappakatti Restaurant being one of them. This is an excellent Indian restaurant that offers a fantastic and fine selection on Indian food, prepared to perfection. The restaurant manager is very helpful in customizing your selection for a unique Indian meal.Highly recommended.
Delicious food but more over the service Satff so humple and simpleEnjoy the favourite Dish
Miss your home food? This is THE place which will remind you of your moms and granys food. Yummy food worth the price. Service quality was really good. Ambience was Ok n thats the reason y I have rated it 4 stars.. But the taste and aroma of the food just makes u forget that... overall experience was too good that i will surely go back often.
I FOUND FLY (INSECT) ON THEIR FOOD (WORST)I would like to give negative stars in their service and quality. Many times I use to visit Thalappakatti, It use to be nice. But 18th Jul 2021 9.20 PM, I visited Karama branch and order Stuffed parotta, they took more than 30 mins to serve which is somehow ok as they informed.Though they have taken long time, they did not serve quality food, Sad part is, I found a fly(Insect) in their Onion raitha and the serving person was telling that, The fly(insect) might have come and sat on our food after he served. It was really disgusting after we had that food. The service also was extremely worst. Comparatively they are charging more money to provide quality food but actually they are serving poor quality food.I Should have called Dubai Municipality. I dont want to spoil their business thats why didnt call.Dear Thalappakatti management, Provide a good quality food, you are not doing service here, its your business and we are your customers. Finally I paid for this disgusting food and poor services.
Being recommended by a friend , we visited this place which they say is famous for their biryani. We ordered mutton biryani and curry dosa. The service was pretty fast, the waiters were politeBut the food was not up to the mark. The curry dosa was over spiced and salty, the biryani lacked the punch. The hotel was packed with people though,They need to improve a bit on taste and will have more takers for it.
Food is not like they use to be. Ambience is OK. Really disappointed with the quantity of food they provide. Its not that cheap either.
The real taste of dindigul π
Best South Indian style briyani In town. Must try their nalli mutton, mutton liver fry. Classic taste. 5 star is the right choice as their whole serving team knows how to take care of their customers.
At 10.PM on a Thursday night there was no mutton Biryani and he waiter told this 20 minutes after taking our order. very average food and poor service....
Perfect...much loved β€οΈ

Biriyani is nice taste.but very high price.25 dhs 1 biriyani mutton boneless.pcs are 3 very very small meat also rice very small quantity I asked extra rice will be 16 dhs aditional charges . If 25 dhs price should be increase ur rice quantity and meats qty also. this is suggestions.i will eated now your dubai branch.iam not happy.
Heard abt this place from long, but neva been able to visit. Finally last night was d big day.A party of four, we ordered :Starters: black pepper chicken and kuchi mutton.Main course: Thalapakatti boneless mutton biryani, chicken varuval kolambu, nenju curry chops kolambu, chicken kothu paratha, n ceylon paratas.Desert: jigarthanda, hot gulab jamun wz ice cream.Quantity: there was sufficient amount except for the meat/ chicken in d biryani, chicken kolambu n nenju curry chops kolambu. Felt der was v.less for d price we paid per dish.Quality: both the kolambu were not great as expected- juz a regular curry. Evn d kothu paratha was not special. Everything was hot n fresh. But d black pepper chicken, kuchi mutton & mutton biryani were lip smacking πand packed wz flavour.Among the desserts- jigar thanda left a mesmerising impact on our taste buds n kept asking for more.D starters, biryani n dessert r definitely recommended!!!Ambience: warm n cosy.Service: servers were courteous n professional. Had to wait for 10- 12 mins.Hygiene: seemed neat and clean around.Price: high. They should consider lowering the prices. Credit cards also accepted.Overall a good experience. Truly chettinad!
Spoiling the original Name of Dindigul Thalappakatti.Such a worst Briyani ever had.(from Thalappakatti)We ordered Mutton Bucket Briyani of 5Pax bucket +1 separate pack (for 6 members)Quantity : 3/5Taste : 2/5 ( No briyani flavour instead had only Color)Quality : 1/5Delivery : 5/5 ( Delivered before the agreed time)
Nice south Indian restaurant, delicious food
A good Tamil restaurant with typical biryani... A different variant of biryani I tried upon reference... Well second... This time was for a small party where I ordered 3 buckets, usually each bucket is good for 6 heavy eater people... The regular single plate package gets good amount of Mutton pieces but the bucket were not justified... 1 bucket had good amount of pieces where the other 2 had disappointment...Overall good flavor for a different type of biryani...
Biryani was good....portion decent
Best south indian biriyani ever.
Good Tamil restaurant. Love their Mutton Biriyani and Chicken karuvapetti. Very polite staffs
Visited the hotel to get good food which can surprise me. But disappointed due to the peoples not serving the food properly.Ive ordered 65 Biriyani, they havent provided eggs. When I asked them about eggs, theyre saying - Its finished and can provide plain omlet if I want.Same scenario happened for Moru moru fish, they havent provided Mayonnaise and it got finished they said. They havent informed while taking the order or while Im eating.Suggestion: Please inform to the customer about dishes available with all items if youre taking any orders, since were not paying less amount like other hotels. But I loved the Moru moru fish and Biriyani. Kuchi mutton is OK only.
Falooda was good. Biriyani and parotta utter waste. Worst service.
If you want a spicy Tamilnadu style non vegetarian food you should visit this place in Dubai. They have differnt varieties of chicken, mutton, fish etc.My friends who came with me had biriyani and non veg starters and they like the spiciness and taste.I ordered a veg meal/thali and it took some time to get my order delivered as less people order for that.Another friend ordered veg pulavo which tasted good with the gravy they serve for the chapati in the meal/thali.
I have ordered bucket biriyani for 5-7person one bucket and 3 person one bucket, initially they told me 5 mins, then waited more than 1 hour , they gave small takeaway and tables services, but screwed me like anything,I was fan of thalappakatti till today, today this incident changed my mind & I would never come back
I tried chicken biriyani and dosha. It was extremely good and a must try. The service was also excellent. Good location.
Quality has gone down. The biriyani was not upto expectations.Felt really upset due to poor quality and service standards.
Came here after hearing a lot about them! Its located in Karama!Well its usually always crowded, thats what i have heard about this place and it was when i went there. But we got a seat really fast.We ordered three one Migalu Soup, One Chicken Rasam soup, One kuthu biryani, one butter milk for the starters. The Migalu soup was alright, but ill suggest the Rasam Chicken soup! The kuthu biryani was brilliant as well. Wouldnt recommend the Butter milk. For the main course we went for the mutton biryani, ordered three of them and one chicken curry and a few porottas. We really liked it all! Dont know why many are reviewing bad for the biryani. The service is pretty poor. There is just one person taking the orders and it takes a lot of time to catch hold of him. A few of my orders were messed up and brought late. Had to cancel one order because it didnt come up till when we finished our meal.Would give it a 4, but the service needs to up it!4/5!
The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. We especially enjoyed the Authentic Taste of Indian/Sri lanka
AN OVER HYPED RESTAURANT.Very High priced.Biriyani is authentic but tastes is just avg.
One of the best food in Dubai.. sagar was more polite and took care of us and gave good hospitality... Thumbs up for this restaurant
Excellent food, Arun was really doing a great job of serving us and explaining about food. Awesome guy
Taste and experience was awesome but time taken for serve its tooo late. People who want try some different briyani must try. India madurai famous Jigarthanda available here . Chicken kari dosa and pepper chicken pretty yummy.Try mutton boneless briyani.
Dindigul thalappakatti briyani is one of the favourite briyani type. This reataurant is located in karama area the problem is parking. Other than that. The taste is always awesome yummy, soups, briyani, mutton chukka, chicken varuthathu all are best. The service is good and the place is spacious and clean, good one give a try.
Mutton Briyani was nice...but pomfret pollichathu was veey spicy....
Very good and delicious food, the taste was awesome. The service of staff was great especially Mr Sagar..Special thanks...
Boneless mutton biriyani is their signature dish. Never miss a chance to try it when you are in Karama!
Excellent, tasty biriyani.
Food was ok. Chicken or mutton is the the difference. The rice is the same. So when the say special mutton biriyani not sure whats special about it apart from chicken or mutton. Not that great has they boast in Sri Lanka. People who have not tried any other good biriyani. Then its awesome.Tried the jigiri thanda π₯€ which was my first time. Overall was good.I should try others in the menu to for my overall conclusions.
I have tasted Thalappakatti in my place and it was nice and a good experience but dubai Thalappakatti was not good..Nothing was tasty except the meat balls, biriyani is very bad
Best Flavor of thalapakatti in dubai
