Incredible place. Amazing

Grand souq Deira is as a matter of fact a network of different name souqs, some kind of souq area. Grand Souq serves half tourists, half local people; that is, there are basic tourist stuff selling small shops, but many shops are selling items which tourists rarely buy. Because of covid-19 pandemic tourists were few when I visited there to spend one Ramadan afternoon, but no doubt, Grand Souq is popular tourist place. In my opinion not a bad place to visit at least once a life.

Today I have visited the Spice souq and Gold Souq. I was very excited to discover these hidden gems in Dubai. And Since my mom needed some herbs, what better place to go than the Dubai’s Spice souq. The place is amazing with all these aromas and spices scents and the colors. But there was some pushy salemen that try to sell you anything.Through my search, I have found Mohammad an spice specialist as he says, he was very kind and not pushy, and offered me some dates with chocolate. Thier store is literally a magical place for every individual who loves spices. I have bought from him some relaxing tea and herbs as well as saffron. His manners and prices were very nice and I promised him to write about him online. His store name is (YOUNIS STORE) is directly opposite to the Ferry.

Nice place with various goods and items. Deferent street with deferent kinds of goods. Clothes in one street(retail and all sale), spices in one street, jewelry and souvenirs in one street. And tea shops also.when you walk in streets you can feel the difference, feel like walk in another decade in past. Grand souq near to Creek. And there is a boat port too.

This is a nice souk in Dubai. You can find a very wide range of items being sold, with some stores specialising in spices, some in tools, some in souvenirs. Sellers will approach you and you should start to haggle on prices. It feels like an authentic experience.

An old style souk where you can find everything from spices to textiles to pottery to perfumes etc. It is a good walk and the souk is clean. A little packed/crowded but comfortable. It is close to one of the boat stations/abra stations and you can easily hop on or hop off one to reach or return from the souk. There is a map which will guide you to the various specific souks - gold souk, clothes souk, spices souk, etc.The shopkeepers are a little overbearing and will pester and invite you to their shops. Bargain well before buying, especially the spices. And check the quality.

It was clean and affordable. It was a little narrow and cluttered, but again, very clean and the food there was good. I stuck to tinned tuna and vegetables as my budget was tight. But even the bag of chips and cookies I grabbed were nice. A very good place to buy your groceries and a safe walk to there

Not my thing. I hate shopping set the best of times, but with pushy salespeople this was REALLY not my thing. One took advantage of my youngest girls age and wrapped a scarf around it before I could protest. I had to remove as the salesman would not take no for an answer. Understand some people might like this kind of authentic experience. I did not, neither did the rest of my family.

This is where it all started .This is the oldest part of the town. Before the construction of massive skyscrapers Dubai used to be a small shopping hub.Grand souq Deira is one of the oldest markets of traditional items. You could find shops perfumes, spices, garments etc. Pushy salesmen are the downside of traditional souq. You should be well prepared to face those people.

These vendors are really anoying - they grab you, pull you into their shops and try to rip you off when buying something. One of them offered me a small bag of incense for 200 dirham.

Please visit it if in dubai. The arrangement alone will remind you of arabian nights. The shopping experience will be fun.Plan on spend at least two hours if you are not a serious shopper. If you are a shopper or if accompanied by wife , who loves gold please plan on spending 3 to 4 hours. And money. 😀Carry water with you. The place is easily accessible by metro. Green lineGet down at al ras station. And walk 400 metres.

For those who like to buy it is an excellent place. My wife went crazy. Dozens of handicrafts. Spices. Kashimirs of etc. salespeople approach you at every step almost forcing you to buy. Men, just ignore it and keep going. Women, good luck !! The experience was very tasty. The cool thing is to go by subway to the nearest station and cross with one of the boats to the other side. It costs 1 dirham. Its kind of roots but super cool
