Amazing.. A place where you can find whatever fabric you require
Unfortunately lot of scammers there just after your money, so beware of the following:- Initial price you get offered will be at least 5-10 times what its actually worth.- Everything is mass produced and not handmade.- You can find the same souvenirs for 5AED elsewhere.- Dont believe it they claim its handmade cashmere/pashmina - its cheap stuff and make sure you dont overpay. If you want to go there for the experience then its fine, just beware sellers are way too agressive and will do anything to get you into their shop. If you dont like the price just walk away. Stay away form the people selling fake watches and bags.Do your research before going there and check the prices online for reference.
The Dubai Textile market also known as Old textile souk is a traditionl souk, It lies over the creek in Bur Dubai. There is a huge variety of Raw silk, cotton, and embroidered fabrics at this market.Visitors can access the Textile souk either by Fahidi Metro or by traditional Abra( water taxi) from Deira Dubai creek side.
Textile souk is situated near the Deira creek.Pashmina and cashmere scarfs are main things to sought out from here.Price is to be bargained hard. You can reach here by bus, metro and water ways too.Payment preferably by cash
Traditional bazaar-style shops that showcase a wide variety of Arabic, Indian and oriental clothing with wholesale options.Additionally, one also finds a variety of spices, traditional incense and handicrafts from a bygone era.Be warned though:One needs to be a savvy, street-smart shopper with a knack for bargaining and conversant in local language (Arabic, Hindi, Urdu etc) in order to make the best deals ;)
Amazing place historic
Good deals but be sure to check other shops too so u can compare their prices. Nice to visit in the late afternoon. If youre a woman and going alone pls be careful.
Nice place for picturesNot safe for women, people keep staring no matter whatever you wear.Sellers bargain. Make sure to compare prices with other shops.Mostly you get Indian Gujarati-kutch stuff which is way cheaper in India.Overall the antique view of the shops is beautiful and picturesque. There is a temple and gurudwara too..
It is the favorite shopping place for female who really enjoy shopping fabrics. This place provide an excellent quality of fabrics, silks, cotton, embroided fabrics and georgette. It was an exciting experience to select innovative designs and patterns among the hundreds of reels of cloth.
Be very careful, plan for what you want to buy before going there because there are too many beautiful things to tempt you and you will definitely buy more than you planned for or have luggage space for. I found that haggling doesnt really work in this souk but if you walk further outwards there are other places just waiting to negotiate and even stores with cheaper prices than the souk. Its definitely a tourist trap but a beautiful one
Amazing place to make business, new relations, and find almost eveytype of textile in the world. Its just an amazing place for merchants and an international link for textiles. This place is located in Old Dubai and is characterized by amazing historic arabian architecture and a touristic vibe. All in all its a great place to do business, or for tourism in general.
Shopping for clothing, fabrics ,antiques, souvenirs etc in good price. Attractive sale for tourist and merchants.
You are sure to snag good deals if you are adept at bargaining but if you are not ,you may end of paying too much for products. The traders(mostly Indians) are forward and assertive ,it can be overwhelmingSome of the bright spots are the spice and dried fruit sellers, they let you taste and smell many varieties of their wares
Its a short walk from Abra station to textile souq and to Al Fahidi Fort which is Dubai Museum as well. Really liked it
Best place for all your bargain buys and the abra ride to reach here is amazing too
Here are a few major tips.1. You must bargain AT LEAST 70% off of their original offer. This is a minimum.2. Never buy from the first shop. Walk around.3. Don’t be afraid to walk away, they will pull you back with a much lower price.4. The global village offers the same items but for around 50% less than the textile souk. This was my experience... take it as a learning token. I was looking at cashmere scarves and their original offer was $225 dirhams per scarf. I bargained down to $130 dirhams and considered this to be a good deal and bought. However, after walking to other shops, they offered me the same cashmere scarf for $40 dirhams. Later on, I went to the global village and they offered the same scarf for an original price of $40 dirhams which can be bargained down to at least $30 dirhams. The textile souk is a major rip off. Please please don’t be so naive as I was and bargain hard. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because of the experience. Some of the people are nice and it’s very interesting to walk around.
Same stuff in every shop. Some nice items! Bargain HARD! I started bargaining at 10% of the vendors price and bought it for 15-20%.
A lot of the stores sell similar or the exact same items for varying prices, but the vendors are unwilling to match the better price that the guy across the street is advertising. Nice wares to be found for good prices, but not the best shopping Ive found. There are some extremely kind and helpful shopowners to be found here.
Textile Souk carries all kinds of fabrics and ready made at a cheaper prices and readily available.. Mostly chiffon flowered and Indian nets were in every corner.. A collection of many kinds of fabrics.. And most of traders in the market were from East Africa according to the salesmen. After the purchase the Souk will pack and deliver for you in your country.
Traditional Arabic souk where you can find any kind of scarves and textiles. Not very big.
Topical Arabic souq, modern produce from the retailer of the past. Great fusion
It was exciting to go and look at the beautiful merchandise but I am afraid we were very overwhelmed with the Textile Souk, people everywhere trying to sell, no time to look because of the pressure of sellers trying to get you to look at their products or come into their store. It is very hard to ignore the very pushy sellers. We just wanted to get to the other end. I did buy 2 beautiful pashminas, so all was not lost.
One of the best place in Dubai to visits ND see fabrics and cashmere shawls
Nice place to visit with family you can see and buy Arabic tradition in this market.
U will feel Old and traditional style bazar but u will get variety of stuffs and clothes
I like the spice sold at this market. It also has some cheap electronic shops.
Good place to visit fir an authentic souq atmosphere n experience
I was hoping to buy buttons for a costume I was working on. They do not exist here.I was also looking for fabric. There is plenty, but I did not find what I wanted. (Im not surprised. I was looking for something extremely specific). What I did find was a lot of extremely aggressive salesmen. I did end up buying some dates. But no, I do not want a kilo of saffron. Lol.There is plenty of interesting sight seeing and conversation to be had. But I was there to find some specific things, and got a bit grumpy that I spent more time than I wanted to.Visit. But plan on wandering.
V good
If you are Indian then Palika is a good option. Cheap and lots of bargaining
A good place for business people. Wholesale fabrics in good prices
Market with more than 500 shops ,selling textiles, garments, sleepers, Antiques items, mostly Pakistanis, indians and iranis. Extends from abra bur dubai to Alfahdi fort.in abra you get steam boats to cross the creek ( artificial water canal ) historic place market. Small tea shops selling tasty Samosas,
Really fun place, great to take visitors to get a feel of the old Dubai souk
Best place to shop for textiles... any kind of material u r looking for, u will find it here.
You can get a wide range of things here, from brightly colored lamps, spices, gold, fabric, jewelry and ready made clothes. Its the best!
Best wholesale market to buy textiles from all over the world
If you intend on buying something here, you can reasonably barter with the vendors to get a decent price. However, the sellers are quite pushy if youre simply looking around.
Very good place for shopping textiles, you find a lot of collections
Nice
Several nice shops. Note that they mostly sell fabric or make you clothes from it. They dont just sell clothing.
A typical Dubai market with a lot of crowd and no parking space. RTA is usually very strict in these areas. Prices are reasonable and variety is worth visiting.
Ostantation materail here is its home
Traditional style souq and old look of Arabian creekside.A must visit to know the history of Dubai.
Traditional Asian style market showcasing textile products mainly from India Pakistan Nepal and Bangladesh, you can find stitched and unstitched products with great bargains, wholesale options are also available.
Nera to old souk market sabka bus stop
It is a good place to find gifts, memorabilia and souvenirs.
Great way to experience Dubai and test your bargaining ability!
Great feel and good stuff. Happy people and very business friendly.
Good Collection of Pardhas. Needs to be Good Bargainer and ensure what you pay as they often will try to confuse you
Its a nice place. Best thing is your can always bargain for good prices.
Nice place to visit for tourists. A variety of different things available.
All kind of stuff available here at reasonable price
Largest market of textiles ever seen in my life...The collection n variety is in abundancePpl are too helpfull
Its great to get some textile stuffs under single roof.
Very old and historical market in Abra station in Burdubai. You can buy souvenirs and antiques, but you have to bargain. There are many snack bars and small hotels around. Always crowded due its popularity.
Another of Dubais many souks. This one is dedicated to textiles so expect to find many traditional and non-traditional textiles.
Very hot place good for souvenir shopping not much quality stuff available
I had been here briefly to look for some nice fabric but most of the shops here are wholesellars not retailers so that was bit of a disappointment. Only a few shops offered retail price for cloth but variety was not as good as yhe money they quoted. Retail shops for fabric is towards meena bazaar. I did manage to buy spices since spice and textile souk are close to eavh other. There are abra (wooden traditional boats) near the textile souk, you can pay 1 aed and cross the canal to gold souk.
Only for walk. At the shop you can buy the same thinks 3 time less
Excellent opportunity to bargain...
Best retail shops of uae
All types of whole sales and retails textile market in dubai... nice place to explore here
If you are a woman, AVOID going here and the other zouks near by, Man harassed my friend and me. We end up leaving 10 min after arriving because people is pretty annoying !!!
Tourist attraction market very very expensive than what one buy in the city
Much quieter than the gold souk. Got nice bargains
Its good and economical
Loved the day trip here. It was fab!
Lovely stuff, amazing textile and very helpful people (though a bit clingy at times)...you’d find a lot of stuff to buy there...
A lovely buzzing market, worth a visit but not unmissable
Definitely worth a visit if you are from out of town. Store owners are willing to bargain with you on the price. You will get approached often to enter stores, but just politely decline and keep moving. I would also recommend catching an abra for 1dh across the creek. We purchased a beautiful kaftan, handmade leather beaded flats, soccer jerseys, beautiful handmade beaded scarves, and hand made clutches.
Fun place to look around and get good deals
Nice markeet in dubai
A wonderful place for both Business and leasure traveller. Part of the old traditional Dubai, textile Souq gives you a glimpse of history and culture. The evenings are particularly pleasant and you can cross the Creek in a boat ride for one Dirham. People, look for Disco Sandwich - made with egg veggies cheese and Peper - get ur sandwich and a cup of tea and sit by the Creek to enjoy a wonderful view of old and new.
If any one interested to buy fabric must visit
One stop Abaya heaven
Tourists can buy a lot of spices and souvenirs here. You can haggle for the price and the vendors are really friendly.
Unique place to visit
This place is best reached from Al Ghubaiba Metro stationhardly a a 10 minute walk. Clothes are a bit expensive. Beware of the agents and trollers around, theyll try to trick you into buying copies of original products. Beware when u buy and haggle a bit for the price offered. They quote prices normally around 30-35% higher than what the normal.market rate would be. Sometimes even upto 50%. So just beware and use your bargaining skills and probably you could.get a great deal.
Good variety of textile and clothing material at reasonable prices.
This is the best place for shopping for Indian Pakistani dress materials
Good place for shopping and City tour
Nice and cheap place in dubai
