This is by far the worst car rental I’ve ever tried in my life. If I had to pick between walking to the hotel or renting a car from them, I’ll choose the first. I’ve rented a car four days prior to my picking date, and I’ve paid the extra charge for that since my flight is supposed to arrive at 9 PM. Strangely enough, they don’t charge the hour you pick your car at, but rather they start from 11 am which is a way to get more money from customers. However, I accepted this since my number one priority was to get the car as fast as possible when I arrive. And guess what? Had to wait for more than one hour to get it with no free cancellation policy. So basically I’ve paid for a car that wasn’t ready and apparently wasn’t assigned exclusively for me 10 hours before having it. Then they charged me extra 3000 as an insurance deposit with a promise to return it back if nothing happens. And obviously you must expect things to happen. When I delivered the car, they said everything was okay and I can leave. Then once I’m inside the interior lounge of the airport waiting for my flight and when they knew for sure I’m stuck they started calling me claiming I gave them the wrong airport ticket, which is something they didn’t mention to me at all before. Then they said they’ll deduct 200 from the insurance deposit.A horrible experience and a very unprofessional team to say the least. For your safety, STAY AWAY from this rental companyn!!

They were super helpful and friendly. Also there very quickly and given the car and receiving the car. More over easy to find them in Dubai mall also at the airport. I would recommend visitor to go through them for rental, they are not expensive

I picked up the car in T3 parking, the staff was very friendly and the check in agent very helpfully.During my rental I had a break down because of the car battery, after I called the assistance they have send me someone who changed the battery. The person made an excellent job and also compare to other Carrentals the assistance come already prepared and equipped.Even if I had a small problem which has been resolved on spot I am still happy with the service.

Avoid avoid avoid, these guys are scammers my husband rented a car from last year in dubai. And after we came back all these sudden charges and fines appeared to be charged on his account. They provided no evidence to him whatsoever. However an itemised bill was sent to our credit card providers. One of the charges stated the car was impounded. The car was NEVER impounded. Now we are left with charges that never even occurred. Theives is the nicest is the way to put it. Utter scum

Im extremely surprised and impressed with quality of the service. During the booking of my rental all my needs was taken in consideration and any eventual issues was sorted by their team with a very personalized approach. They also provided all the detailed information in a very clearly way. At the destination I was received by a friendly, professional and very well organized team and everything went 100% problem free and very smoothly.

It’s the first time for me to use a Thrifty Dubai rental company make me disappointed and I will not be repeated again for many reasons: First of all, I had an online paid reservation for an small car, but the employee at the airport asked me for a very big amount as a deposit of 3000 dirhams for a small car of Nissan Sunny for a period of five days + value of the online reservation 462.37 dirhams, which means that an total amount of 3462.37 dirhams has been withdrawn from my credit card and I accepted that because my wife is sick and I am obliged that I do not object, and the employee also explained to me that the amount will be returned to me after returning the car, but before returning the car I had to extend the car 2 days after I call the office at the airport and she had to approve the extension and here the start of exploitation by the companys employee at the airport. When the car was delivered, she raised the price twice, and the two days’value became 452.55 dirhams, and because I trusted this company from the beginning, I paid and did not object, and when I requested the deposit of 3000 dirhams !! The employee mentioned that one of the companys terms are that the amount will be returned after a month from now .. And now I will a complaint against the rental company and the employees of the airport office for poor service and for circumventing me by taking large cost in exchange for a very small car and exploiting my family situation ..

We rented a car and paid our deposit with our debit card. They took 721 euros and we only got back 620 euros 6 weeks after returning the car. We had to call them 7 times to check. They charged refund fees and lots of fees for nothing and blamed our bank for it. Our back didn’t charge any fees. They’re scammers these guys! Don’t bother renting a car with them! Use some other company. My car rental of 150 euros costed me 250 instead .bad bad bad experience!!!

It has been over two months and I have not yet received my deposit or refund! this is unacceptable!

Almost one hour to get the car, then they gave a car with bad condition, the mirror in the middle is not adjustable as it is broken, the dashboard was not feasible (no idea why!!!?)

Very bad experience, first they literally blame any scratch on you. There was a very tiny scratch at the back of the car and they blamed it on us and charged us hundreds of dollars for it. We couldn’t argue for long because we didn’t want to be late. They also charged the person in front of us the same amount for the same reason. Never rent from them because you end up paying a lot to them for nothing. Staff are also very disorganised and slow. It took forever to get our car initially. We also booked the car online and then when we arrived at Dubai they said that car was unavailable and gave us a lower class car for a more expensive price, I know it doesn’t make sense but it’s true. Overall horrible experience especially that I come from America and I know how these rentals roll. If there was a 0 star I would have definitely chosen that.

Scammers!! random debits to my account after returning car pristine condition and didnt give me return deposit been over 3 months. Have used many car rental agencies in the past with no problems. I would never go with THRIFTY ever again, keep taking random debits from my account - They show me paper for using tolls and speed cameras which I have paid when returning car. Countless messages and emails sent to their whatsapp/sms no reply. Many problems like sending documents to wrong email address, its just very poor service. ( i cant speak arabic im sorry) They have taken way more than what i owe and no deposit back. They said its for fines but they have taken way over the amount the fines are for. Im happy to pay the fines which i have done i guess they used my large multiple transactions on my card seems proper dodgey

Terrible service. I booked an Audi A6 or similar. I arrive a the location...they dont have the car available. They propose to give me a Mazda and to replace my car in the morning. I spent all day at home waiting for the car to arrive. I called 10 times with no response, emailed twice with no response. Then I called the 800 number...and was told I was gonna get a call back within 30mn....didnt get a call back. Then I tried again 2 hours later...spoke to someone...made me wait 20mn on the call...then said I would receive a call from the location. Received the call the guy tells me that the car is being repaired and is not available. Either I keep the Mazda or they can try to see if they can give me an upgrade for 1-3 days until my car is ready. And now...Im waiting again....Just wasted a whole day...and still dont have the car I paid for and dont know whats gonna happen. Now theyre proposing a Lexus IS300 and telling me that its the same class...when this car is comparable to an A4 and C-Class.I dont know if any company can beat this terrible service. Even if you try you cant be this bad.

Feedback for Thrifty in general is poor! Rented cars both with Hertz and Thrifty! By far terrible experience with Thrifty - Showed up and got a different car than what was ordered for a monthly rental. Was not easy to exchange the next day - got charged for an extra day! Customer service or counter staff apparently don’t have any authority to take decisions - so not much of customer service! I hope management is listening!

Extremely disappointed with the customer service of the lady in the parking lot office.We were issued a car in a pathetic condition and within minutes of driving, we realized the car had mechanical issues and went to return it.On this, her entire body language changed.Started complaining about 30dhs parking charges that we would have to bear now, to which we agreed. But still she was extremely rude.In the end, It was an exercise in patience and tolerance to get done with it and be gone.Never again.

Great customer service open for 24/7 and the great part is it is the only company which has counters in the mall locations as well, also convenient to pickup or dropoff ur car in any location.

CAREFUL!!!!! Do not rent a car from Thrifty, we reserved a car multiple days before picking it up from Terminal 1, and when we got there there was nobody at the desk and we had to pay the parking fee anyways. We went to the Terminal 3 Branch and they told us they didn’t have the car we had reserved, AND refused to refund us or even help us in any way. I have rented many cars from many agencies before but this has been the worst experience of all. Do not waste your time and money with this agency.

This is my first time to come over and put feedback about the company, because I had never experienced any such unprofessional service before from any company. As consumer, I was highly demotivated by a unprofessional customer service from an employee who named Ronne. She tried to threat their consumer without any reasonable reason and interesting thing is that I tried to put the issue to the related department, there is no one come over to help me out and they still give responsibilities from one to another. I had never feel so disappointed about any company and I will never ever use their services anymore.

Charged my card 3000 dirhams without explanation and do not respond back to my emails explaining whats going on.Took advantage of me being a tourist from a different country and think I will not pursue this further. This is not over and the Dubai Trading Standards will be informed shortly as a preliminary step.

My flight was in Terminal 1 but returned the car at Terminal 3 (did not see in Google that there was a thrifty in Terminal 1 as well!!!). No train or pedestrian way available between terminals. They were very kind and dropped us and our luggage with the car in Terminal 1. 5 Stars!!!

CONs:Car required service after 600km after it was issued. Car battery died 4 days after being serviced, and was told to call a friend to jump-start the car?!Service agent from T3 hung up on me multiple times when requesting info regarding my rental. New rental agreement was booked for a standard car class, and Thriftys would only honour a compact??Vehicle was received filthy on the interior, was finding hair, grit and packages of sauce in seats/etc throughout the duration of the rental.Thrifty service fully represents the very definition of its name!Pros: Arjun T3 was helpful in correcting the original rental reservation made online, and assisting with the best service and vehicle. That said - the management has not honoured future bookings made IN PRINT and has downgraded the bookings 2 car class levels. You never know what youre getting with this company, but expect the very least.

Wrong car, stinks of cigarette smoke, supposed to exchange for correct car in a couple of days but still not (5 days) despite us reminding. Also charged us 50AED to switch the car outside Dubai even though its their mistake (we missed this at 5am after a long flight).

6 months after and I am still waiting to receive compensation. I was deducted money from my credit card without my authorisation. This is grand theft auto!I was deducted for the cost of replacing a tyre blow out. I am sure this was due to poorly maintained tyres as I only did inner city driving during 4 days. Never mind the inconvenience of replacing a tyre in the middle of Dubai at 1:00am (apparently road-side assistance doesnt cover tyre change).After bringing the car back to the airport, and being told that I was to pay for the cost of a new tyre, I was given a replacement car with overdue engine oil maintenance.I could bore you with more details but I think you get the point. Hire from them at your own peril!

The guy here is just disgusting.It was a few years ago, my first time to Dubai. The guy in Thrifty asked me why not buy full insurance, I said I dont want to. He implied and then threatened that I will pay more if I do not buy the full insurance. I was unhappy and insisted not to. The next day when I returned the car, the guy said he found a tiny scratch in the front window and charged me for 1000 AED. I was about to leave and had no idea that time. I can still remember his ugly face full of satisfaction. If I met it again I will fight to the end.

I will never rent a car from this car rental company again! Then pay a little more and choose europe car or another company. When you arrive, there are whole rows in front of you, so that you have to wait another hour (after flying for 7 hours) because there was only 1 staff. When you take the keys you find out that you 1, you will not get the car that you had booked and paid in advance .. and 2 that you have to pay a deposit of up to €800 euros. Its nice that they passed that on at the last minute. Now Im back and I have to wait 40 days for my deposit, this is ridiculous! It would also be useful if you, as a rental company, let tourists know that there are flash pictures everywhere and that you should not pay attention to rich people who drive past you with Ferraris and Lambos because it is no problem for them to pay fines of 1200 Dirham (almost 300 euros) to pay.
