For me, this cafe was totally teleported me to the Parsi cafes in Mumbai. As it name says, this funkie cafe is Parsi cafe in one of the clusters in JLT ( cluster q). Great place to hangout if you are lover of Tea, Bun & Maska( well I’m — Specially when you are from Bombay, India). Superb Ambience, lovely place to chill out with friends . Food is great. Do try the chai, bun maska, bhindi fried chips ( ladies finger fried chips - you’d absolutely love it). Affordable price.

Went into Cafe Funkie twin with high expectations after reading the high ratings on Zomato. Somehow the overall experience fell short of where I thought the restaurant would have been. Had ordered the Keema with the pav and it tasted simply wonderful. The other two dishes ....Dhansak with Mutton Gravy ( as highly recommend) and the Chicken Frankie were much below average. The mutton pieces in the Gravy were quite tough. The ambience and the seating was quite appealing and the staff was very courteous. They should do something about the constant ringing that happens at the counter ( maybe because of the online order alerts...its pretty loud). One thing that I didnt like was the violations to the Covid guidelines. They had people sitting in adjacent tables something which is still not allowed here in Dubai and we were very uncomfortable with it. Hopefully the management has noticed this and is addressing the issue.

If you are craving to have some tasty Parso food then the hidden gem is located in Jlt. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Interiors are lovely with pictures of Bollywood Golden era actors and actresses. We tried several dishes like Chicken Farcha ( favourite), Achari Paneer Tikka, Berry Pulao, Boti Mutton, Paneer Chilly dry. Must say everything tasted so good.

A cool chic café located in JLT & Business Bay is a Parsi Theme café. The ambiance of the place takes you to the small lanes of south Mumbai & Parsi colony. Being from Mumbai, it made me feel really nostalgic and hence I loved every moment spent here. As a true parsi, the café has put some from famous Parsi personalities on a wall while some good old Bollywood character sketches on the other wall. The combination of yellow walls, brown furniture & a tinge of blue, makes this place very beautiful to spend a relaxing afternoon or evening with friends & family.Coming to the food, we tried a lot of options including Parsi varieties:Veg Gravy Cutlet – a typical parsi style veg cutlet that was very soft on the inside in onion, tomato gravy with spices. This was the highlight of the evening for us.Veg Dhan Shaak – Although not perfectly made like we get in Mumbai, it was decent and served with fried onion pulao.Along with these Parsi varieties, we tried the Indian dishes like Paneer Tikka Masala, Dal Makhani, Hara Bhara Kabab which were very tasty and must haves here. The dal makhani was Mumbai style, a little sweet so we enjoyed eating it.We also tried their Paneer Manchurian Toast which was ok but lacked flavors. We wish this could have been better. For desserts we tried their Brownie Sundae & Royal Falooda which were both yummy and ended the evening perfectly for us.Overall a decent place to hangout with friends & family. I wish I was more hungry to try their chai and bun maska but we were full with the above dishes. They offer 20% off on zomato orders and also have a direct delivery option.Do check them out.

We loved our visit to cafe funkie town some days back and on weekend we tried their delivery as we had some guests over.. used their website to order and got 20% off.. ordering was easy and their website had many options- parsi, Indian and Chinese.. we settled for Chinese and chose Hakka noodles, dry Manchurian veg and American chopsuey..Order was delivered in time and packing was proper.. chpsuey was good portion and the food was shared by 4 adults and one child and it was just enough.. we all loved Manchurian and Veg Hakka noodles combo..world of caution— Hakka noodles were spicy so my daughter could not eat it.. better inform the cafe if you need no spice..We found the food good value for money as in less than 100 good lunch was done :-)Will try their Parsi dishes next time ..

Café funkie town 🤩 the name got me at first place :)I got to review the branch at jlt, which has beautiful indoor and outdoor seating ( so much of greenery around).Loved the quaint and quirky ambiance, the staff super courteous and patient ( I took a while to place the order from the vast menu 🙈)If you wanna fry some authentic bombay parsi food , THIS IS UR PLACE , they even hv Indian other options .My favorite was the chicken tikka chilli toast ( swipe to watch a video) , hara chicken tikka was delicious 😋 and the chicken tikka pulav had a generous amount of chicken 🤩Everything we ordered was flavorful & delicious 🤤..THE BEST PART : they DON’T use and food color, no palm oil and no artificial thickness or msg !! And you will know this is true coz even if u r stuffed ( like I was ) you won’t feel the uncomfortable fullness...

I visited for late night meal at Cafe funkie town and was impressed with the interiors of the place. Their decor is inspired by a small town cafe that you find on the streets of Mumbai ! One of the walls has black and white pictures of the bollywood actors from the 80s. They also have a section outside where they have a collection of Antiques. However, I was not too happy with the food. We called for their famous Bun maska and chai and that was superb. But the other items ordered were not upto the mark such as Paneer Frankie and the Cheese chilli toast. The Frankie just had uncooked Paneer Pieces with some shredded veggies and chutney. This is something which can be easily made at home. Paying AED 30 for it was way too expensive. Cheese chilli toast did not have Chilly in it. When we asked for a replacement dish, we were served with the toast but with Pav Bhaji Masala sprinked on it in the form of chilli. After this dish we were too dicey to order anything else.I doubt I will visit them again !

Just as the name says, cafe funkie town is a funky cafe nestled in the cluster of Jumeirah Lake Towers. The ambience is set in Bollywood style with a team of friendly staffs to delight the mood of customers.Parsi food is their speciality along with Indian street food, and they served Lagan nu Custard (5/5), Chicken grill platter (4/5), passion fruit Mojito (5/5), pav bhaji (5/5), prawn patiyo (5/5), Parsi omelette (5/5). It is a perfect place to lay your hands-on, authentic Parsi food.

Cafe Funkie Town is a lovely and cozy restaurant located in Cluster Q of JLT. Its literally a HIDDEN GEM waiting to be explored. Such beautiful and cool place for Indian and Parsi cuisines. The food prepared here is excellent in taste. Whatever is on the menu is super duper. The Ambience is set on the typical Parsi style with wooden decor and complete with a antique chair of the owners father. It sets the mood of home style food prepared with a lot of love, typical Parsi culture. We tried various dishes here, starting with the Chicken Tikka Chilli Cheese Toast, its Cheese melted on toasted bun bread with chicken tikka toppong, stuffed with onion, tomatoes, sprinkled with coriander & chillies . The Chicken tikka Frankie, i tasted here were the best i ever had. Brilliantly prepared Tikka garnished with onion, capsicum with spices n wrapped in a roasted with beated egg. These two are a must have. Mutton cutlets is another hit dish. Mutton mince is mixed with onion, chilli, mint leaves, rooled in beaten eggs, dredged in crumbs n fried. Presentation of the dishes is basic but the flavours take the experience to the next level.Another amazing appetizer is The Harra Paneer Tikka Paneer served here is marinated with indian spices and perfectly grilled, paneer was so tender, lovely marination and it was something very special. Tagdi kebab, Succulent drumsticks cooked in tandoor. Ajwaini Fish Tikka, boneless pieces of fish marinated in Indian spices and carom seeds. No words can describe fabulous taste of all these appetizers. You need to have it to experience it.We then tried the Mutton kheema, its minced mutton cooked in green masala. We usually have the kheema with red masala, here tried it first time with green spinach based masala. Served with brun pav, its excellent in taste and will keep you craving for more.Service is exceptional good. All the staff were efficient, they all know their food and drinks in and out and seem so extremely passionate about it. Special shout out to our main server Anil.Overall experience is that you get spoilt for good choices once you are inside and that too all in one place. Cafe Funkie Town is definitely worth a visit with all your familyand friends. Very Highly recommended!!!!

Typical ambience of a Irani restaurant. Folks from Bombay will get it. Brings back good memories. Excellent non veg options for the parsee cuisine. Would have loved more vegetarian options in the parsee cuisine. The veg options are mainly your typical North Indian fare. Tried the beg dhanshak and was underwhelmed. Had much more expections. The day was a bit more liquidy and had the French beans and carrots and peas (looked like they just added the frozen veggie pack in the dal). The day on ot own taste wise was good but was expecting ni vegetables and a thicker version. The brown rice and the veg cutlet were fun and nice. I need to get my wife (who is a parsee) to try it out one of these days and update later on what she feels on the meat and chicken and prawns food. Overall worth a visit and try for sure. Ppl had spoken a lot about its ginger tea. Did not find it that great but may be will try the breakfast sometime.

If there is one restaurant in town that I will not dare try ever and also tell my friends not to try has to be Cafe Funkie (Junkie) Town. First youll shell out quite an amount on the order only to see the quantity is Tapas! Then the ordeal begins when you taste it. I can understand if one dish is not good but interestingly not a single item we got on 27th over dinner tasted good. The chicken starter was stinking, keema was sad, akuri was the worst bhurji Ive ever had and panner bhurji was yukkk. I called the restaurant and told them about it and poor Shehbaz got another round of chicken which was better than the original one but not upto the mark and akuri was almost the same. Overall, I could say Ive never ever been this disappointed about a restaurant and its food that Im compelled to write this review. Id never order food from here even for free!
