Unlimited sushi Saturday night was good... A lot of super quality sushi, decoration is beautifully designed, and ambient light is good enough, music is loud enough to enjoy and speak, just some of the sushi were with a lot of mayonnaise or ketchup sauce, maybe its just not my taste. Authentic drinks, and the environment in general is perfect for friends, couples, or even business dinner.And using the gourmet entertainer, you can save a meal cost free of charge.

One of the few places in Dubai for authentic Japanese cuisine. Good food, ambience and good service will make you revisit this place once in a while. Good part is that they serve alcohol too.

Kanpai,a japanese restaurant and lounge located inside souk al bahar is the ultimate place to enjoy traditional japanese cuisine.Its a perfect place to visit for a relaxed lunch or dinner.If you are hanging out at night,you can enjoy their lively lounge along with their scrumptious japanese spread.We were at Kanpai last week for dinner and had a fabulous time.While we were scrolling through the menu,Mr Kim served us some of their signature Mocktails.We thoroughly enjoyed our drinks.We were then served with their signature starters.We tried Crab Stick Salad,Prawn Spring Roll,Prawn Tempura and Wasabi Prawn.Crab stick salad was super fresh and crunchy.Wasabi Prawn was the star among the starters.I recommend their Prawn spring roll and Prawn Tempura as well.I loved their crab stick salad and wasabi prawn the most.For mains we had Maki Roll Platter,Black Cod (Oven baked miso black cod with yuzu miso sauce) and Shoyu Salmon (Grilled soy marinated salmon served with green pea puree baby potato,sakura mix and bbq sauce).Maki rolls were amazing.We finished the entire platter in no time.Black cod was absolutely delicious.It was literally melting in my mouth.Shoyu Salmon was also nice.For Desserts we had Green Tea Tiramisu and Mochi.Green Tea Tiramisu was rich and creamy.Enjoyed their chocolate & green tea mochi as well.VERDICTScrumptious Japanese DishesOutstanding ServiceInviting Ambiance

Presentation wasn’t that good. The glass of sangria we received wasn’t clean, and there was sangria all over it. The drinks were disappointing . The food wasn’t tasty, some dishes were literally tasteless . Celebrated with our friends here on a Friday night (Brunch), and enjoying it tremendously. They gave us the perfect square table for Ten / Eight seater right in the back, was perfect!

First class sushi, worth every penny

Terrible experience, horrible service, and unprofessional staff!Last night we went for open Sushi, and despite that the whole place had only 4 tables occupied the first plates took around 30 minutes to arrive. When we asked for another refill round we waited more than 30 minutes and it never came. Despite us informing the waitresses several times and even talking to the manager who assured us that such a time is definitely not acceptable, still our refill didn’t come. We took our stuff and informed the manager that we’re leaving but no one bothered to even discuss the matter with us. In a nutshell a terrible experience that indeed isn’t built on delighting consumers and offering them a pleasant time.

Went there for dinner on Friday. We had a really good time. Love the ambiance, the lighting and the music. Not too loud, not too smoky even in the smoking area,which is important. I had read before going there that the smoking area was bigger than the non smoking one therefore I was worried that the smell will be too strong but it wasnt at all. The staff was very nice and professional. Since we had never been there, we asked our waiter, John, to recommend a cocktail which was divine. They have an interesting list of classic and signature cocktails. We ordered few makis : the kenpai rainbow roll, the lava maki special and the dynamite maki. The last two were our favorites. Freshly made, right temperature and perfect rice. We also ordered the cod as a main which was delicious. The manager came to check on us. Overall we had a great experience. Thanks again to the Kenpai team, we will definitely come back.

Solidly average. The presentation is nice. Went for the Eid evening brunch and the waitstaff are quick and attentive. However, the main courses underdeliver, and the dessert, well, they had just given up by then. Just suffice to say, this isnt a place to come for dessert only.

Not been back since before the pandemic. Sadly myself and my partner came regularly on a Thursday evening paying full whack for food. Found out that we could have paid less if we had the brunch package. No waiter had the courtesy to tell us. Hopefully the staff have changed and are more honest.

The drinks are reasonably priced for a happy hour, and so is food. The music was fun but a bit loud, nothing you might dislike on a Thursday night!

I went to enjoy the Sunset Branch. People were very kind and the food was very delicious. If I have a chance next time, I want to enjoy it with other family members. It was stuffy because there werent any windows, but it was good to focus on them. Dubai is really a great place to enjoy and live.

Dining at Kanpai was an overall pleasant experience for a very special occassion, though the menu is limiting on their Sunday Tasting Menu, an addition of Sashimi would possibly attract more customers.The service was amazing from A to Z anyway.Booking is easy and all inquiries were answered quickly, was very happy with it.I would recommend Kanpai, however, an improvement on taste is a must to separate themselves from other Japanese restaurants, especially in the Sushi department.

A weekend Japanese cuisine should excite you! But Kanpai was a disappointment. The food quality was decent but the quantity was horrifying! If you have an entertainer voucher, watch out, you will be served and treated with no intent. Nevertheless, the bill can be enormous if you don’t have any discount vouchers. Overall, not a very pleasing experience as most Japanese food outlets set very high standards in terms of service and food quality which was lacking in Kanpai.

Nice ambience with a club-like feel because of the dance music in the separate bar area. Food is generally good. The Smoked Octopus is fun and worth trying if u like that kind of appetizers. They do serve alcohol and nice cocktails too.

We had beef teriyaki, Japanese rice and some couple of sushis. beef teriyaki and rice were good but sushi had very mild flavor to it. Menu said smoked salmon Maki but it didnt feel like smoked salmon at all. we tried their recommended sushi and it was a bit better.Staff was very friendly, ambience was good, sadly its only indoor with no view or outdoor seating. Its very Japanese style decorated, will definitely visit them one more time to give proper verdict.

Came to a Friday brunch and their alcoholic drinks are all watered down. Even if you ask for a shot or with the mixer on the side the waiter just ignores you. This is worst place I’ve been to for drinks in Dubai, no wonder there are only 5 tables booked here!!Their mains are cold and portion sizes are barely a starter.@Kanpai management, I understand things are tough during COVID, so you need to focus more on repeat customers rather than cost cutting. I live cross the road from you’re place and I will never come again.

A lovely lounge-styled restaurant situated in downtown Dubai at the Souk Al Bahar. The food was good but the service was simply immaculate. Never have I experienced such attentive and friendly service by the staff.The reason it misses a star is because of the music. Although it was a bit too loud, it initially started off great, with a fine selection of minimal/deep house tunes. However, the DJ soon took over and started playing some ridiculous Hip-hop/Rap songs. Although I very much enjoy the old school tunes, the latest Hip-Hop songs played were utterly horrible and simply did not suit the theme of the restaurant.

It is ok... The sushi Saturday is so limited choices virtually no choice at all. Only salmon and salmon, not even tuna.

Great place to meet near the Dubai Mall, bites and food very good and reasonable price. Difficult to find to start with, but use map in souk (the smaller shop centre it’s located in) or ask security guard.Nice place Nice people.

Whenever I am in the area, I make sure I get a plate of their wagyu sushi. If I am not mistaken they are the only ones that serve this out of all the Japanese restaurants Ive been to. When youre there, ask for their yummy pop corn that has a unique taste ! Their team is super nice, and gives you subtle service thats not too in your face. Lunches are very quiet and service time is just right (the popcorn keeps you distracted)

Its one of the most high end restaurants in souk al bahar....with a variety of sushi..main courses..assorted appetizers and the best of all is the weekend brunch which is all you can eat and drink....highly recommend to everyone

Pretty cool place to go to on a Friday evening brunch from 6pm to 9pm. All you can eat and drink (from a set menu), but some of the items on the list were really tasty!! Plus we get a 50% discount for EK platinum card holders, so its a great deal! Some things that come to mind to try:Drinks: Whiskey Sours (ALL NIGHT!)Food: Wasabi prawns, Salmon sashimi, grilled Tiger prawns, Beef Teppenyaki style, Chicken in spicy sauce (something like that), etc. (they were all very tasty and perfect to nibble with your drinks). We didnt try the soups, salads, and other boring stuff for obvious reasons.Ambience is pretty much what youd expect from a lounge bar (quiet), but the staff are very attentive and friendly. Shout out to Twinkle (or Tinkle) and Fatima! They were attentive, proactive & accommodating with our food/drink requests. Thanks guys!

This place is amazing. Happy hour selection on food and drinks is more than enough and very much worth the prices. We will be back for sure. Happy hour on Fridays 6pm to 9pm.

Nice place. Nice ambience. However, I expected more of their Groupon voucher. The appetizers were surprisingly better than the actual sushi. Service was great and interior design was a bit extravagant, but matching my expectations. This restaurant is located at the 1st floor of Souq Al Bahar. It felt more like a bar place than a restaurant.

Restaurant is decorated nicely however teppanyaki experience was very dull by the chef very little interaction compared to many other teppanyaki experiences at other restaurants. Food Portions also smaller than others and food was average with little taste, waygu beef asked for medium got well done instead. For the price service and food does not meet the expectations.
