The food is really good. Although a tad expensive. The quantity is good. Platter says it’s for 2 but easily 3-4 people can eat unless u have a really big appetite. Definitely drink the complimentary soup. The bread and hummus is also really fresh. The waiting time for food is around 30-40 min but it’s worth it. The hospitality is also good. Valet parking is available as well.

Authentic Afghani culinary experience. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff and they offer a vast menu of Afghani delicacies. The quality of food is top notch. The service is a little slow but that is because they prepare the food fresh and it is surely worth the wait. Food is cooked keeping the tradition in mind and it translates into the taste. Surely visiting again.

One of a few authentic Afghani restaurants in Dubai which offers a fine dining experience in the heart of Jumeriah street. The food quality is good but I think the lamb was over grilled. The soup, stews and the appetizer were super good and I would say they are a must try. I would definitely go back and tell my friends about it

Definitely worth trying, the rice and meat were exceptional along with the chicken/lamb Kariah, chappali kebabs were average. The restaurant itself is ok, definitely could be better but I would go back for the food. Service was very nice. Personally I thought it was better that the al-barsha branch, no need to wait as long for a table as it is much larger place

One of the iconic restaurants in Dubai. Wakha in Barsha and Jumeirah are the best ones so far I have tried.

Review №16

The flavor is superb. Authentic afghani flavor. Karahi is highly recommended. However, its ridiculously overpriced. You can get similar flavor in Bur Dubai for half the price. And for some reason, the prices in their Barsha branch are cheaper compared to Jumeira. I dont know how a restaurant chain can have different prices on different locations. The sofas are very comfortable but they are not at all suited for dining.Even though I have some complaints, the flavor is still there no doubt and credit has to be given where its due.

Afghani food for those that miss the taste. The roti, chappli kebabs and karahi was very tasty and fresh but the grilled meats on pulao were dry. Sliced vegetables is more for decor than to eat. Poor valet service that cannot handle peak rush hours. The chairs fall backwards easily so dont let children play on the chairs or theyll fall. Cleanliness can be improved. Next day I had a bit of trouble in the toilet which is an indication of poor hygiene in the kitchen. The staff can be more efficient with communication (radios) and quality checks in the kitchen should be implemented.

This was the first time I visited the Jumeirah Wakha branch. The staff is very friendly and polite. The food comes after a bit of wait but let me tell you it’s worth the wait. Such authentic Afghani flavours. Low spices and more about quality and taste. This place is a good option for a family dinner as adults and kids will equally like their food. The food is one of a kind and undoubtedly the best Afghani cuisine in Dubai. I loved the complimentary soup, the mixed grill with rice, the beef dumplings and the Peshawari karahi. Simply outstanding!! What’s more is they have valet parking. I think this will be my new to go place.

This place has my heart. If you are looking for a traditional Pakistani/Afghani cuisine. This must be your stop amd of you are lookin for a great dining experience, go to theor Jumeirah branch. It has everything, good seating, ambiance, amazing service and ofcourse perfect taste. 10/10 for everything.I had qeema naan, mintoo, mixed platter, lamb karahi, butter naan, regular naan. Everything is worth every bite. Starter soup and finishing qehwa are complimentary and boy they are both amazing, totally in par with the standard and not like just complimentary okayish food. Enjoy every so much. You have to taste it to experience it.

Food does not taste the same as the original location and is priced approximately 25% more. They are trying for fine dining and it is not necessary. The food at the original location is great and would work everywhere but this location does not have the same taste. Parking can be difficult to find. Service at this location was better compared to the Lulu Hypermarlet location but the restaurant only had one other table occupied. Temperature is kept at around 26 degrees which can get uncomfortable.

Wow, wow, wow, speechless. I am their regular customer but for barsha branch. This was the first time I visited their jumeirah branch. As with any desi eastern restaurant, dont expect too much from service as service will be laid back and not 5 star service but that doesnt matter at all as staff is friendly and polite. Moreover once you get your food after about 45 minutes of wait, you will be super delighted as all items are fresh, super tasty and low on spices. A best option for full family dinner as adults and kids will equally like their food. Ok interior but good approach and free valet parking available. They also offer complimentary soup in the start to makeup for the long wait time for fresh food.Highly recommended for family dinner outs.

I’m writing this review while I’m at the Barsha branch, as I’m a regular customer there. Stark contrast between both in terms of food quality and service, despite the Jumeirah branch costing twice the price of the original Barsha branch. Tables and sofas are cheap, whole setup is poor, management take no action when called upon, and food most importantly is mediocre. This branch is a disgrace to Wakha and Afghani food. Don’t ruin your experience of Wakha by going to Jumeirah branch, go to Al Barsha branch!

Afghani Cuisine is one of my favorites and I am up for a Kadhai and Naan anytime. I recently went for dinner at the new Jumeirah Branch of Wakha and was so happy to finally dine in instead of ordering in. We sat outdoors because the weather was amazing. We were offered fresh juices and I ordered one with a mix of Orange and Pomegrenate. The juice was fresh, without sugar and balanced out the spices of the meal.We were served their Wakha Platter which is their version of Mixed Grill and it was served with their famous kabuli rice. The kebabs were right out of the grill with Meat and Chicken options. The dish was good for 3-4 adults. I loved how tender the meats were and I could taste the spices in each and every bite.We then tried their Lamb Shinwari Kadhai which was my favorite specially with the fresh hot naans. The kadhai was tomato based with spices and green chillies. We finished off the meal with their Kahwa & Sheesha which settled in so much food perfectly. All their staff were so hospitable and served us very well.Taste: 5/5Ambience/Decor: 3/5Service: 5/5Value for Money: 4/5

Wakha, the critically acclaimed restaurant chain that specializes in Afghani and Shinwari cuisines, has launched its latest diner at Jumeirah, Dubai. The move reflects the chain’s aim to expand its market reach and invite customers, new and old, to experiment with native ingredients, comprise great flavor combinations and enjoy a unique and memorable dining experience. We started off with the Wakha Hawaiin, which was an excellent tropical drink, served in a half cut pineapple, delicious taste. The Wakha mixed platter was a delightful dish which had mutton, chicken, lamb chops, served with flavoured jasmine rice. This was good enough for 4 adults, the flavours were terrific as they use natural ingredients such as green spices, tomatoes, salt and lamb fat or fresh butter while all of their signature cuisine is 100% hala

Contrary to popular belief, Shinwari cuisine is not Afghan cuisine, it is the cuisine of North Western part of Pakistan. You know, the worst part about Pakistani restaurants in general is the customer service. But Wakha, wins by a mile when it comes to customer service. The waiters were very polite, greeted us with a whole-hearted Assalam o Alaikum. I felt very happy with the way they welcomed me, believe me, food tastes better with good customer service! So we ordered, Shinwari lamb karahi and a platter of assorted barbecued items with such a delicious serving of kabuli pulao. Dont know why fellow Pakistanis complain about lamb meat having a stench, I find that smell sweet and it speaks of the fact that the food being cooked is healthy. Best thing about them is that they cook fresh meat, displayed right infront of us. It is totally clear that wakha management keeps hygiene on priority. The meat was clean, and the place where the meat was being grilled was spick and span! Yes, of course theyll take their time to cook, why wouldnt they? Were talking about freshly cut meat here, not frozen and partially prepared gravy from before. Each dish is cooked from the scratch. And the food is worth the wait. Shinwari lamb karahi is paradise! Not gonna criticize, just gonna advise a little to add more tomatoes to the mix to have more gravy, and dont forget to always ask the customer whether they want chillis or not. People with taste buds like mine are only looking for the pure taste of the meat cooked in the fat. No spices, no mirch masala. I dont like spices and chillis at all, and I am sure many others dont like that either, and the sohbat was quite spicy than it should be. Id recommend to cut down on the spices. Either way, Shinwari cuisine is supposed to be healthy food. Green tea is a must to help digest the high energy food. I would be a regular at wakha, if it isnt that much expensive. But i am very sure that this type of quality food is worth all the bucks! May Allah reward you guys with more success, team wakha! Thanks.

The absolute worst dining experience I have had. Entered the place at 8:10 , ordered after 5 minutes and got the food nearly an hour later. The waiters either ignore your complaints or lie to your face with their timings. To top it off the food was mediocre at best! Keep in mind I was extremely hungry and anything could have tasted good, well the food still tasted very mediocre and not worth the hype. To end this miserable experience and make it even worse, after ordering our tea they still managed to screw that up and literally not serve anything after 10 minutes!Wow just wow. It takes talent to make everything go wrong to this level. I would recommend anyone who values their time to avoid this place.
