Theres something fascinating about sitting by the harbour side watching the dhows slip off to sea. At any time of day, theres work going on as fishers mend their nets, pile up lobster pots, hang out colourful sarongs to dry, unload fish and congregate for communal chats. As you survey the resting dhows strung together five abreast, you can almost forget Abu Dhabis modern backdrop as its ancient past as a fishing village is revealed. The harbor is the one place you can watch the traditional dhows return from sea, and sunset is the best time to do this. A number of dinner dhow cruises depart from here, and there are a couple of restaurants at Al Dhafra. You will also find fish, fruit, and carpet markets here in the area known as the Al Meena Souks. Next to the harbor is the Iranian Souk, where mostly Iranian handicrafts, household goods, and potted plants are sold. The U.A.E. developed as a merchant nation, and trade with Iran has long been one of its principal economic activities. This Iranian market is an authentic if not very charming look into the traditional way of doing business here. Note that photography is not allowed anywhere inside the port area. Its easy to get lost driving here, so Id recommend taking a taxi.
Traditional fish markets and port of Abudhabi. Very clean and neat areas. Different types of fish availability
As always, the Fish Market is great for buying raw seafood and even having it cleaned and cooked while you wait. You can also call ahead. They make the best shrimp Ive ever had - spicy grilled. I only gave it 3 stars because getting in and out is a nightmare. Like many other places in Abu Dhabi, its as if they didnt think very many people would drive there, but many do. On the bright side, they are renovating the whole area, so hopefully they will build additional parking.
Great variety of fresh seafood. Also love the fact that the onsight eating places can prepare & serve your meal right there.
Good place for fish grill..opening morning 8 am
This place is purely incredible both during day time and at night. I am blessed to have a boat ride which starts from this dock.If you ever visited this place I would highly recommend to have a 90 min boat ride by Splash Tours or whatever service provider you find there.Make sure you are taking your waterproof camera on the ride and hold tight.
Best of abudhabi and thanks 😊 🙏 for your best support and
You can buy fresh fish and you can give to restaurants to cook for you and enjoy 😉
It has a refreshing view. Nice restaurants around. Sea is our life.Abu Dhabi has it all.
Its a quite place with beautiful scenery.
It was a calming place and you will enjoy fresh seafood from the fish market. You just have to pay 15aed per Kg to your chosen restaurant to cook you fresh fish.
Nice place to relax and see old boats and yachts. Mainly fishing depot and scenic drive through.
Its normal fish market and outside the shops can host you with your fresh fish from the market to prepare it but sometimes they got greedy because you didnt pick from there menus 😅
Nice view, many boats available for renting
Great seafood and fresh herbs to buy from floral shops nearby.
Interesting place to visit. Lovely tours available. Just go in winter.
Lots of collection... Cheap.. u can bargain and make ur own Deal... Comparatively cheaper than normal hyper/super market
Very nice and interesting place mostly there restaurants and flower shops and you can also visit there many ships in the sea
I believe there are much more great opportunities for tourism and attractions in this area, currently it seems to be under constructions and development but its slow moving for a reason I dont know! I hope within the next 3 months or so we can see some improvements
Must Visit Place in Abudhabi to Taste Sea food
The history starst around. I find it inspiring in case you are an artist and want to capture the real character of the place
Nice city view at night time.
I was in the fish market which is very closely, fresh fish with good price, just buy, and no worries for cleaning or grilling.

Authentic place, lovely traditional restaurant and fish market.
The evening cruise is nice, the meal was surprisingly good
Nice historical location. You can see the dhows that were used, or even still in use, in fishing.
There is a fresh fish market and there are hotels where you can buy our favorite fish and bake it.
Nice place and different cafes a restaurants
Rented a jet ski at this place it broke down deep out on the water no refund or time given back. Dont waste your time or money renting a jet ski from the establishment near this harbor
Fresh and variety sea food 😊
Abu Dhabi 7 years experience
Fresh fish , organized, clean and tasty
Good place to rent Jet Ski nd boat
Fresh fish and super pp
If you love fresh fish, this place is a must for you. I am not a fish lover but the friends are and they loved the fished prepared at the restaurants here. Grills are amazing. Beside the fish market another attraction are the nearby plants shop they have a large variety of plants and amazing indoor plants, you can negotiate well here if you are buying a number of plants.By the way this harbour doesnt have a view like Dubai marina nor a good walking space or track, all you can enjoy here are fishes and plants and yes some boat rides too.If you want a boat ride or jet ski make sure you negotiate well and there is a clear understanding of the price agreed or you will end up paying more.
Best place to find plants
I loved this area where I can go to fish market and order fresh seafood directly and get it grilled or fried. Have been visiting in every weekend, coming from Al Ain to Abu Dhabi only to get over there and enjoy the taste of fresh seafood. I have tried 2 major restaurants over there, both are nice.
So grateful pleasure
Heart of Dubai, a must visit place
Ill have to visit properly another time. Easy to get to, potentially quite interesting - it will benefit from investment in order to be a tourist attraction.
Very very bad and low level all stuff stuff dont know how to respect customers dont try to Go there 🤬🤬
Fresh fishes!
In the evening when i saw this place its look wonderful
I really dont know, I never try but my chetar girlfriend Joanna was there with another one 🤣🤣, remember if you hacked someone phone do it in the right way otherwise both of you will watching each other on location 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😘
Love the sea love the heritage of my country
Delicious sea food point
Great place..
A lil hassle free. Though time taken than expected
Fresh catch, plenty of choices, good hygiene measures, especially during Covid. Keep your sheepishness in your car, and prepare to bargain and negotiate as you walk in. Now a modern facility is coming up right next door which will make it a mall- like experience.
U definitely find wat u wanna buy. Try it
Currently under construction but otherwise great area for Sea food and shisha lovers
