Wadi Buraq is 375 meters wide and 9 meters high. It benefits 1,200 homes and 90 farms. Wadi Buraq is a dam built to expand water storage and capture rainwater which would otherwise be lost the dam is a popular tourist spot especially during the winter when it is full of fresh water. Nice place for a late afternoon or evening time pass. Normally, there is no need to have a 4x4 wheels car. Great for having a quiet time away from the city, a relative short drive from Sharjah or Dubai. Its a beautiful place particularly immediately after rain; it is an area full of life, with green foliage and birds visiting the dam.
Best place to escape from city and crowd.Newly built highway brings a bit of light now.otherwise completely dark and ideal for star watch
Best time to go is during winters or when there is rainfall. Nice view but nothing much to do as its just next to Oman border.
Nice place to have a nice peaceful BBQ at night. Not much water but a nice place.
The best place for camping and also milky way photography.you can camp overnight here and make bbq with lots of fun...its located in Sharjah emirate also the border of Oman.In rainy time the water is store the dam
Wonderful place, wonderful nature, I haven’t been during the day, but during night I enjoyed the most of my life. You can clearly see tons of stars, there’s nature, there’s a very small water, but I didn’t care about it as i was concerned more about the dry land. But it’s not a safe place to go alone as it is close to Oman borders, you would rather stay till by maximum 9:30.Going there with regular car is possible, there’s a car park there to place your car, then you can go walking.... you should consider lack of light there, be prepared with proper lightings, torches, flashlights... etc. otherwise it’s wonderful place to go to.
Wadi Buraq is a dam Built to expand water storage and capture rainwater which would otherwise be lost the dam is a popular tourist spot especially during the winter when it is full of fresh waterWadi Buraq provides water for 1,200 homes and 90 farms. Especially after rainstorms, it is an area full of life, with green foliage and birds visiting the dam.The dam measures about 375 metres wide and is nine metres high.Dams like Wadi Buraq act as a means of flood control, protecting local residents during times of heavy rain.
It was dry when I went with friends. However the beauty of the place is imaginative after a raining. The silence and breezy wind is more than enough to relax and stress out. The roads have damaged due to heavy flood, there is kacha road to go till the dam front. Both sedan and 4x4 can go here. Another interesting is than this place has two borders - RAK and Oman. The watch tower with green fencing is also something engages you. A good escape from cities like Dubai and Sharjah.
Nice place to visit. Calm and clean place. Proper roads are there. Only for a kilometer road is not proper. You can reach the place with sedan car. Personally i like this place.Update 18.09.2020 : No water available
Very calm and beautiful
Its a clam and quite place, no sound or light pollution. We when to see the meteor shower.
A unique place for family and kids. Less known place and less crowded.. Good place to camp overnight and bbq
The air there was refreshing and clean. We camped too.
I love this place very calm very beautiful sky with bright and shining ✨ stars; BBQ please dont throw your garbage...keep your wild life clean and safe 👌
Great place. But no water now.
Calm and serene spot but a little dusty
Badi Buraq dam very close to Oman boarder, better time to view the dam after rainy season or October /November for drive through the dam lkke a off road trip 😎
Nice place for weekend trip. Recommending off-road vehicle.
Peaceful area, those who wanted to feel fresh air. It seems few tourists choose this spot. Absalutlely no crowd and the way reaching dam is off-road
Great place for clear October night skies
Hi all,I saw many pictures posted here of Stagazing done at this Dam site. Please advise when is the time of the year for this ?Can Star Gazing be done without Cameras ?Thanks.
Get on maleha road (Sharjah kalba road) and take the maleha exit. From the roundabout, take the first exit and follow the directions. The road is in a good condition barring a massive pothole in the middle of the road at one point. The area is deserted. You’ll find just 1 or 2 houses and a camel shed on the side of the road. At some points, you might find camels on the road, so drive slow.Around 600 metres before reaching the dam, the road has been [washed away](I assume in the rains we had last month). Just next to it, there is a dirt track. Get on it and it will lead you to the dam. You don’t need a 4x4 for this. Unless your car has a low suspension, it should be fine. There is parking available near the dam site. I was there on Saturday evening and it was literally deserted. The spot isn’t popular yet. It’s a good spot for photography or even camping. It gets pitch dark after sunset and is perfectly suited for astrophotography or star gazing. Its quiet and serene and for those who prefer a retreat from the noisy cities. There are no shops in the vicinity. You better stock up from the ADNOC pumps on maleha road.
The dam is dried up nothing as shown in the pic just can spend some time with a tent and barbecue just that nothing more to see it
You really have to know whether the dam is holding water or not first-hand before starting the journey.. Roads to the dam are washed away by storm water.. if you dont have a 4×4, do not travel here in the night. Camping in the night will be an awesome experience.. there are some short hills to climb and enjoy the view from the top..
Good spot for watching sunrise... The place is alongside Oman border. Normally 4 wheels are not necessarily but if you are visiting just after heavy rain, be cautious and better avoid sedans.
Serene, a perfect place for a nice weekend
Calm place to have a drive and relax...
Great for having a quiet time away from the city, a relative short drive from Sharjah or Dubai. Though access to the Dam could be difficult for low cars, and dont expect any facilities around
Buraq dam acts as a means of flood control, protecting local residents during times of heavy rain. During dry season this is an empty white sand area with great views around. Four trees at the middle of the dam gives perfect shade for resting.
Perfect place to for a Bonfire
Its a beautiful place specially immediately after rain. Nice for camping and astrophotography. Carry all the stuff in your car if you want to camp overnight.
It’s a long drive option but it’s not a family friendly atmosphere where you will be disconnected from City, people and vehicle...Not sure its because of the out of season...We have been there last month and we couldn’t find any other visitors there and almost 12KM from highway was a terrific silent driving all the way to the destination...Currently no water available.. all dry and not an interesting place to visit..
Lovely nature
If you are an Astro photographer or Landscape photographer you must visit this place. Pitch dark at night and mesmerizing view at sunrise or sunset.
The darkest place in entire UAE at night . Good for slow shutter photography and good for people having telescope.
Nice silent place for bbq wid family... no lights there so try to leave early
Good place to see the dam with water. This place is very good for view the sunrise.
Beautiful area with animal encounters such as Camels and Foxes! If you go around hiking you may find spider dens and other beautiful creatures!
