Place may be good in daylight, but night we went there and some people come and stop us and search our entire car. They were not police or guards they may be the residents 10-12 people surround us and made a panic situation. There is no lighting on the place. Feel bit bad experience there. Some of their cars not even the number plate. We have to drop the plan and forced to return. Felt the place bit dangerous

Easily one of the top dams in UAE.It’s a spillway dam to limit the impact of flash floods (if you look at where homes are placed down the wadi, it seems like a flash flood disaster waiting to happen, at least before the dam was in place)Good trailheads to Jebel Jais (only 1400meters up), Woh Village and the “Stairway to Heaven” loop.Cool locals around. Fyi, all the goats are owned by people. Occasionally you might see a tiny dessert fox.

Well-paved roads. Nearest washroom and prayer room is a 5-minute drive away. Largely devoid of people.

The valley of ghalila is a rocky desert by nature , it is surrounded by a series of mountains and plateaus one of which is jais mount the highest peak in UAE.

It was a nice ride in the mountainous nature of RAK.

Got all the information I need at a first glance. The mountain treks are definately not for amateur tourists. As for the dam, its pretty nice.
