The view from 1484 is, expectedly, befitting of the highest restaurant in the country. The food…we’ll let’s be honest. No one’s going to be making reservations months in advance and driving all the way up the mountain to sample the average fare here. Do try to get a reservation 2-3hours before sunset. Turn up just before sunset and you could be shoved into a table inside and miss the highlight of the experience. If you’re coming in the cooler months, bring some warm clothing…the temperature drops alarmingly right after sunset.
If you are looking for a Restaurant with a spectacular views and without going bankrupt then this is the place for you!Tip: book your table around sunset time to admire the beautiful sunset behind the mountains and the colorful sky.FOOD: the food is simple and there are adequate varieties to choose fromTip: go for the 1484 burger or the schnitzel sandwich they are really flavorful and full-filling.Service: the food was ready in 10 minutes and ready to be served on our table we were shocked! It was Soo fast. Table Booking need to be done on the phone.Ambience: the place is so relaxing with light music and view are just spectacular. The weather gets really chilly in winter at sunset time so bring a jacket with you!
Two star is for the view. Receptionist is not at all friendly and is rather rude. If the restaurant is reserved for the hour that is okay but there is a way to convey that which is not known to this lady.Pizza was tasteless and coffes are like very basic coffee nothing special or exceptional. Pasta was okay in taste. This is the only optiom at this point so one can visit this place for food and view. They dont pick the call so I am not sure how to book a table.
The overall experience was great, the important thing is to do your due diligence and plan before hand.1) You need to make a booking before you can go in, they do not allow walk ins.2) The restaurant closes at 7 pm so to make the most of your trip try to get an early booking to maximize the benefit of your trip and to enjoy the sunset.3) I recommend taking a jacket or shawl and it could get pretty cold towards/after sunset.4) Keep in mind the road back is poorly lit and it will get really dark, so keep that in mind when planning your trip, and drive safe 🙂As for the experience, my booking was from 2pm and departed at about 5:30 pm. The food was surprisingly good, the view was breathtaking and the weather was great even at 2pm. Yes initially it was hot but the air was cool and got much cooler towards the sunset. In short its definitely worth a visit but make sure to make a booking and plan for the trip beforehand.
Such a lovely place and the food was great. Only negative is that we were asked to go as they only allow you 1:30h per dining experience- which was not conveyed to us, and it was not our first time eating there. Was really offended as we were just about to order desert and felt rushed to pay and leave.
Great views ,good food but rude staff. When we arrived no one greeted us and we have to wait for 5 minutes for someone to come out of the back kitchen and confirm our booking. Then we were seated. During that time we tried to speak to servers for seat but they just ignored us. I think the staff n management needs some serious customer service training. I understand they are busy but that is not an excuse for rude attitude of staff. I think they are taking advantage of the fact that they are the only place at jabel jais. The Food is good however and views are worth the visit. However I think they ll loose out on repeat customers due to their attitude.
A must visit place for all mountain lovers. Loved the ambience of having a meal enjoying the view of Jabel Jais. I went for breakfast and sun will shine at you brightly if you are sitting outside. I still enjoyed my meal. Remember to reserve the table at least 2 days prior. Security will not allow to enter without a reservation.
What a lovely experience. While it was a bit of an ordeal to obtain reservations for the time we wanted, it was worth it. The view of Ras Al Khaimah and the Gulf was phenomenal as well as our meal. There was a bit of a mix-up in ordering our starter (we ordered tomato soup and it came at the end of the meal, which we found to be different and refreshing) the food was delivered in a timely manner and was quite delicious. Highly recommend the mocktail 1484. My wife had the salmon while I had the sea bass. The warm slaw under the salmon was different but very good. Our server was gracious and offered us blankets as the temperature dropped in conjunction with the sun setting. We are counting the days until we get back up.
Great experience. Bre booking is required.Food is nice. Nothing exceptional. Views is whats it all about. There is an outside seating area. But at lunch time the sun really burns you up.Not a big selection of food. But fairly reasonable.1484 burger is nice. But messy.Fish and chips. No it wasnt good. Bleh lacks having any flavor.Worth it.
The restaurant is located at the top of Jebel (Mountain) Jais in Ras Al Khaimah at altitude of 1484m.Reservation is required as they dont allow walk ins, dont waste your time trying call their number as no one will talk your call, booking can be done through their website or e-mail.The road back at the mountain is not lit at all.The staff was friendly and helpful, they managed to get us a table in the outdoor seating area which is overlooking the mountain as well as the sunset. The food experience was average, no much choices however high quality food.
Would you drive 350 kms or 5 hours round trip for a meal at the highest restaurant in UAE? You betcha. ... especially when you have good weather, amazing mountain road to drive up to and good food and service waiting for you ....
Great outside seating area to sit and take in the view
Great Breakfast place unfortunately the patio is not shaded other than that food, coffee and service where really good
Excellent service book a day ahead there always busy food was good too the weather was really cold better bring a jumper with you .
Quite a drive but well worth it. Great prices as well
Breakfast-yoga package.Bread basket + one menu + one drink you can choose.Bread was overcooked, very hard to chew, hurting my gum.Acai bowl is average.Drink came to me when I almost finish my dish.Very nice scene but need more improvement.
Your restaurant manager, Francois, should go for training on customer service or should be replaced. We understood restaurant implements a booking system. So, after my zip line, we politely requested to have our breakfast outside and assured him that we shall leave once we finish our food. He said that he cannot accommodate us due to bookings. Then, few minutes later, the couple who were part of our zip line group, requested for an outside seating. Without any reservation, Francois accommodated them. We were just by the table next to the entrance when we witness his discriminatory behaviour. I spoke with Francois and expressed our disappointment that he let them in instead of us who asked first. Since he was obviously at mistake, he let us sit in one of the vacant seats outside.
The highest restaurant in the UAE1484m height above sea levelAmazing experience
Wonderful for friends and family.. specially in winter in such cloudy cool day .. they have a nice and delicious breakfast.. and dessert..
We had a table on the terrace. The experience was amazing. I really enjoyed the food and the view.
The place is amazing, but smaller then I imagine . The view is stunning . Food was tasty ,so worth the way till there . Make sure you have a reservation before you go ,otherwise you cant go up .
Its very good place before visiting please book an appointment without appointment you will not got that resturant its one month waiting so plan accordingly...
We all take this opportunity to explore and discover amazing places here in United Arab Emirates.. and honestly you will be surprised. We went to experience the « sunrise » in Jebel Jais Mountain and also to visit (1484_by_Puro) for breakfast.Prior to the day of our visit we have checked and read that « Reservation » is needed and you cannot just walk in especially in time for « sunrise and sunset » and this has been clearly meantioned so we booked weeks before our visit. The restaurant opens at 8am and they have their own entry wherein the security asks for your reservation before you will be allowed to drive up.As expected the view from the restaurant is amazing, magical, wow .. name it.The team are amazing, they check your name in the reservation list and honestly they do their best to accommodate most of the guests to be seated outdoor (without compromising the social distancing set)For the very special view that they offer -they do not charge a lot ( surprisingly ) and thank you.The view needless to say is amazingly beautifulThe place is very niceThe food is very good and cheapAnd all the staff tried their best to accommodate all guests by adjusted tables, bringing orders on time and with a smile and bu checking on their guests if everything is okay. What more can you ask for?Special thanks to Charles for attending to us and taking our nice photos..And to Janice for adjusting and giving us the best table ever.Thank you guys and all the best!!! We will be back for sunset :-)
Amazing place very nice views
As difficult and complicated booking process was, as superb visiting experience was. Food, service, views - everything was top level. Highly recommend place.
Beautiful view.relaxing place.average food.helpful staff.
We had an amazing lunch here with beautiful views
Great place, calm and cozy spot.chill music!
Awesome view. Limited options of food but worth visiting for the view.
Great view... great food... friendly staff... excellent service!!!
Lovely view over the mountains and really affordable menu with good choice if spirits . Great experience and nice staff to welcome the guests.
Great Experience
The drive up to the restaurant is very scenic. Be warned that the roads on the lower part are under renovation and are gravel. The restaurant is in a very picturesque setting. It was busy when first got there and service was a bit slow at first. But staff were nice and the food was pretty good and not expensive. Does require a reservation well in advance. Would go back again for sure.
Good: amazing view and good foodBad: prices has recently been increased a lot, loud kitchen noise and lack of overall nice ambience inside.Still worth to go once.
Awesome ambience and food is great.
Great food. Great desserts and spectacular view.
The food is not badThe view is amazing
Horrible customer service, certainly it doesnt worth wasting time to there.I tried to book it several times and they kept cancelling and at the end when I booked they called me after 3 weeks to tell me it is cancelled. Even the friend whom could go where super unsatisfied with the food and the hygiene of the restaurants
Perfect place with perfect food.
Great view, great food and great service. Make sure to dress appropriately though. Mid-December temp was 13 degrees Celsius. If the sun is blocked by a cloud, you will feel it. I can personally say that shorts and a thin shirt are not appropriate for this time of the year. The location is not perfectly obvious, but after the checkpoint where you provide your car plate number, it is the first establishment on your left. Plenty of parking available.
The view is nice and the food is not great, just fine. A bit slow service considering that there are not many tables there. The place is a bit small. And its not worth the road to get there and to wait for a couple of months to get a reservation. Plus its really expensive comparing to the food quality and amount. Not recommended
We made reservation on Friday for Monday morning 8:30 am and we get confirmation email in evening 4:30 pm on Monday. we tried to call and mentioned mobile and landline number, no one responded. we even wrote them on email but there was no response. I really feel that you guys need to improve on response and reservation approval process. Thankfully i didnt plan a visit for important occasion like birthday or anniversary etc. it would have been ruined.
Great view but horrible service. The server barely understood what we were saying, was extremely slow to bring anything. We asked for ketchup 3 times and received it once we were 3/4 done with food. Similarly, asked for a drinks menu and dessert menu and in the end, had to go up and remind the server we were still waiting. We saw the table next to us actually going and getting menus on their own as they were also facing horrible service. Food was okay but the soup was great!
Amazing drive on a clear Winter morning. Reservations recommended. Staff were very courteous. Ambience and views were great. Menu and food were ok..
Worth visiting for the view and not for the food. Ambience is superb. Very difficult to get a prior reservation even if there is no customer in the restaurant. Even more difficult to get a outdoor seating.
Good place to visit once in a while especially during the winter months. Nice spot for yiur Instagram stories. Not impressed with food menu as its simple.
We were a group of 12 people and had a very bad experience at the restaurant. The restaurant was mostly empty and when asked for the menu were told it is fully booked if you want to eat now we can serve so I told the guy (I believe was the manger) give us five minutes my family is coming so in a very rude manner I was told then you might not get the place. I would have left but my husband was already sitting at the table and also had no idea what had happened. We decided to eat as we had left the house at 6 am to reach for zip line and we were all very hungry. Then we go to the table and first thing we hear is 60 minimum should be spend on each person even though it was not a buffet to add it up the waiter literally snatched the salt and pepper from my 4 year old son who was trying to take the salt out. As it was a week day all other places were closed so considering my old parents and children with us we ate there. In the end service was very unexpected and unprofessional but food was good.
Spectacular view, good food and nice service. Bring your jacket in summer and enjoy a great experience! Will come back!
Amazing place, and amazing restaurant! You have to reserve a table before you go. Come from 4 to 5:30 pm, bring your jacket, and enjoy the view!
Very nice place on top of the mountain with an amazing view, friendly staff and helpful, amazing food , there is a minimum charge in the weekend 80 aed per adult , reservation is needed if you want to reach to the restaurant via car other wise you can go on foot I suggest to have jacket or sweater although they provide blanket if you need
You need to Book in Advance.. if youre couldnt book online or phone you can send them email. Try to go early in order to have time for the viewing as well reach on time.. food are perfect as well the service.. enjed the pictures as well the atmosphere
Its one of the best place to see clouds, different whether feeling like 0-5 degree temperature and Food is delicious love it 😍😍
Personally will never return was a huge disappointmentPros:The viewCons:1.We had a reservation and provided our plate number we got there 15 minutes before and couldnt find parking!! So instead we had to park in the yellow lane on the street.2. They say they are fully booked for weeks but when we were there when we finished our lunch at around 5 pm the place was almost empty!! And stayed empty even after we left.3.They said we had to provide our car plate number because only people with reservations are allowed but when we got there everyone was walking past the security and going to stand and sit in front of the restaurant which blocks the view for the restaurant customers4.The service is horrible. The hostess is a bit rude. When we arrived she was ignoring us and i had to chase her and tell her i had a reservation because she saw me standing there and went the other way. I had a booking that i made 3 weeks before and when i gave her my reservation info she looked around searching for an empty table and then finally pointed at a table where a woman was sitting that didnt have a reservation and told us sit there!! I told her a woman is sitting there and she sighs and talks to the woman and tells her to move and the woman proceeded to argue then finally moved. Afterwards, before we sat down I told her is it possible the table be moved outside because they had plenty of space and she looked at me and said its cold outside if i take the table outside i am not bringing you back in OKAY?! (even though when i made the reservation i was assured outside seating)5.Again the service is horrible. The waiters didnt even bring us the menu or greet us even though we were sitting for 20 minutes and we kept looking around to try and wave a waiter to come to us. When we were ordering the waiter literally leaned his back on the rail and was looking at me with an attitude and rolling his eyes and sighing even though i was asking basic questions and being very kind to him!! I repeated my order 2 time to him and he still managed to bring a single espresso when i clearly said a double and he didnt even correct his mistake when i told him he just looked at me and said i will bring another one and NEVER DID.6.the food took forever to make!! Like 35 to 45 minutes7.When we wanted the check we were ignored for about 15 to 20 minutes so we just stood up and went to pay at the hostesses area.
View is amazing. Food is not that special but its good and affordable but the booking takes ages and most of the times nobody reply.
Mind blowing location! Amazing view BUT the staff needs serious training. I walked in, spotted an empty table and naturally took a seat. Asked a waitress to clean a table as it hadn’t been refreshed after previous customers. She asked if I booked it and I said no asking if can still use it. She went to check supposedly, came back said it was ok. When it was time to order a manger (I assume) came to us being all frustrated already and in a very mean way told us that table was unavailable.I don’t mind, as I didn’t book, but the tone and the manner of talking to the customer must be different - no matter how busy place gets. All we wanted was coffee and a desert and managed to have it perfectly in front of the restaurant on the chairs.Instead of being so pushy, she could have asked what we wanted and suggest that idea herself.
Very poor quality of foodfresh pineapple juice is along with pulp so it hurts the throatbutter chickenaverage and rice was too hard like stale food.sunset view is better from viewing deck then this point
Currently it is closed, but it is a really nice place
Was not aware that pre booking is compulsory to visit the venue.. the security guard at the entrance was extremely rude and with some other guest who where waiting before us, the whole excitement of visiting the place went down the drainThe venue should understand that the security staff at the gate is the first touch point for all their guest and how they behave with the guest matters too
Awful experience I had here. Waiters were very slow. There were 6 (!) empty but uncleaned tables in different places outside and they said they fully booked. Okay I said what time are these bookings? Check if I can stay for cup of coffee for 15-20 minutes? No madam, we’re booked for Bentley. 🙄🙄🙄 What should “Bentley” mean for me?? Okay! I won’t beg to sell me something, probably the restaurant doesn’t interested in EVERY client. Go on 1484 by PURO! Good luck!
Amazing sunset, looking straight into the heart of Jebel Jais hills. Enjoy the drive.
Beautiful place with courteous staff. Good hygiene practices maintained. Delucious food.Enjoyed the winter weather too
Good restaurant. You will need a reservation upfront to access this place. Located on top of Jebel Jais, this restaurant has an amazing view. Their breakfast menu is limited, but good to serve all.
Amazing place.Magical. Food is very good as well. Service though not up to the mark.
Very unprofessional. I called their mobile number to check if there was a reservation more than 50 times in 20 minutes. They would either leave it ringing or just shut in my face. We reached the top at the gate and they still would not pick up.Go to the restaurants in Al Hamra where you are treated with respect.
Service could improve A LOT! Food is good but it takes ages to be served, even on non full times.
Incredible view, friendly staff and cosy atmosphere of place making experience unforgettable. Will definitely come back here again.
Lunch with a view 1484 m above sea level. I loved the Korean fried chicken appetizer.
View worthy... food worthy...
The absolute worst service I have ever experienced in the UAE. It’s a good thing that there’s no competition or this so called restaurant would be out of business.Rude and incompetent staff
You need to go and try there food its perfect.
Very disappointed in them. After booking and waiting for 2 months they simply canceled 1 day ahead.
You need to bookThe view is stunningCoffee and desserts and shkshouka are so good
The place is great and the food is good . But I was disappointed about the staff who answered my phone and told that they are fully booked. After that at the same time one of my friends were in the restaurant and told that she talked to one person and the place was not fully booked as she claimed
Breathtaking view, great food and most importantly the staff were just amazing. Shoutout to Raza and all the staff there who made our day. Thank you for the nice experience
We came all the way from Dubia. And we called many times to get reservations as their site showing that full booked. But sometimes people can cancel their booking and need to call to confirm.
Amazing view, but food was so so. Come for a sunset if you can.
Not the best experience to be honest!I called to book 2 weeks ahead but never got a confirmation email even after they got all my details, one day before my booking i called to ask after many unanswered calls they told me that i don’t have a booking!Managed to get a table inside over the phone but the manger was super rude when we reached which I never appreciate it, the service was super slow, and the food came cold!I drove 1 hour and 30 min for such a bad experience! Disappointing.
Food is good thats the only positive. Place is over rated service is poor and very slow to come and give menu etc. The guys are not trained at all except one person who was ok. They forgot one of the dishes we had ordered ...
The servers is very very bad, the food is mediocre to bad, and they say its fully booked while half of the tables empty we couldnt finish our food. the burata is so tough and very sour.
Good food, good view, good atmosphere. Hostess could be more friendly and smily:) was grumpy, as if she couldnt buy ps5 and it was out of stock :)
Flavorful food with reasonable prices and warm service in the coolest temperatures(8 degrees Celsius).A great way to celebrate Christmas Eve!
Amazing place with nice food and friendly service
Just best place to enjoy sunset.
The place is at the top of Jebel Jais, Sahir, beautiful, among the mountains, calm, the food is very delicious
Very bad experience, came with 2,5months old baby and we couldn’t go up to restaurant. Absolutely disappointed! Driving 2,5h for nothing.....
