Old traditional village of 1960s in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. It consists of old abandoned houses and a mosque which is believed to be haunted, as the name highlights Ghost village. Its believed that the people in this village lived by fishing. History says that as the oil was discovered, people slowly abandoned this area and moved to the areas where development took place to happen.Yes this place would definitely give you chill. We left the area before it was dark, as we respect the ghosts living here ๐ฑ๐ป (dont mess with the ghosts if encountered).Good place for a photoshoot. ๐ธ
Its the history of Emirates that how the lifestyle and old houses use to look alike. Narrow streets, very in dept place if you take a look to the old bricks the walls are made off the wooden ceilings, and ventilation holes int he walls, Small rooms of old times there is very much to see last but not least didnt encounter any ghost. Its a public attraction area you would see many visitors in the area. I hope my review was helpful leave a like if you liked my review. Thank you
I went there hearing d old tradition.. An example of why some things must be left untouched.. I guess the intention is good, but i just felt it should have been left the way it was..
It was amazing to visit an old village where no one live nowadays.
Better if u have 4x4
Good art of that time....
Beautiful and lonely place
Nice place
Scary, haunted.. One should be ghost buster.
A lot of garbage thrown all over
Nice place for nature lovers and photographers
Needs to be maintained for better attraction and historical figure.
Its totally in ruins now. Nothing creepy or interesting about it. The area is pretty accessible and parking is free. Feel free to explore it, but there are no signs or instructions of any sort.
Historically abandoned and old
Its an old heritage of the place where the government is re-building to maintain its originality by converting it into a museum. The ruined buildings built here are of ancient type bricks formed out of the dusty sand, reefs and sea shells available in the nearby sea shore. Its really a heritage and I yave posted several pics of the buildings here.
We heard a girl roaring out of pain..
Me working now old Jazirah al Hamra
Such quaint place we should never miss being in RAK . Historical & odd
Al Jazirah Al Hamra is a town to the south of the city of Ras al-Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates. It is known for its collection of abandoned houses and other buildings, including a mosque, which are widely believed locally to be haunted. The town was originally home to three tribes and ruled by the Al-Zaab tribe, which was rehoused in Abu Dhabi following a dispute with the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.
Really good place to visit.
Old abondant village but not Ghost village
The entry seems to be restricted. But take a look at the old carpets in the yard.

Quite a few houses are lived in, but the majority are indeed vacant or in ruins. Thought provoking , Its an interesting place to see, but in my opinion not really worth a long trip just to see it.
It is very impressive to find such a disintegrated house substance, as one does not expect in this country. Unfortunately, the entire arsenal is fenced and you do not know if the gates will eventually be closed. In any case, it is exciting to stroll through the dusty streets.
The ruins. Worth to see
