Such a stunning view at night πi recommend to avoid visiting the place during weekends or holidays if you donβt want that much crowd, but itβs manageable and safe. people are following the safety rules and make sure to be responsible human not to loiter the place π you can do some camping, picnic, hiking, and thereβs a barbecue area as well. indeed, safe and worth to visit.
A good place for an evening drive and outing....always water available in the dam....there is a small park adjacent for kids to play, camping and bbq....it is a good experience to climb the mountain to see the surrounding from the peak...using 4x4 cars, we can go to the other side of the dam through a rough road from the showka junction, before turning to dam road....thats a wonderful drive and a different experience, as you can get in to the wadi and trek further, if interested as well...
A nice place to hike with climb. You can visit this place for a good hike on the rocky mountain with elevation of approx. 500 mtr.+ Ample parking space.+ Public washrooms available at the foot of the climb next to the park.+ Good area for kids to play.+ Nicely built stairs to climb the main hill. You can continue other trails from the top of you want to go for more distance.! Carry sufficient water/ electrolytes for your hike. Some snacks like banana and oranges will help keep you up with required energy.! Proper hiking boots, preferably high ankle, to keep your foot stable and have a good grip on slopes, Sunglasses and a cap, sunscreen cream,! Hiking attire of breathable material - jeans is not good, Towel and swimming suit if you decide to take a dip in the pools. Slippers for after hike.! Optional - trekking polls & first aid kit.One call to everyone that kindly carry back your trash with you and help keep the surroundings clean.I assure you the even of you are not a regular at any sort of physical exercise, then You will surely feel better and it will help you take up physical activities more often.
Good for winter visit not for UAE summer. There is trekking trails to Wadi Shawka. Very calm and quiet place
Wadi Shawka/Shawka Dam is a beautiful get away place in uae. You drive from sharjah/dubai through the Maliha road, you can see the shawka exit. you can go by sedan car. visit during winter season. you can take food or do barbecue there. adjacent to dam there is a small park where kids can play. worth a visit!
