I especially wanted to leave a review for my experience at Al Dhara border. Last night my family; spouse and children had to get their tourist visas renewed. After having so many bad experiences with many borders in Europe and other countries I was hesitant to let my husband cross the border with my two kids. However the staff at al Dhara border couldn’t have been more accommodating. They helped us through it all. They were extremely caring and considerate of my two children and helped assist us as much as they could. This was really evident yesterday for example, they saw the baby was asleep so they asked us to leave her asleep and not wake her up. My three year old was on the other side to where I was but they had brought her over to me on my side. They even let my husband walk back through the staff walkway to help me with the children when he was getting his entry stamp. I was absolutely chuffed with the way they handled things and very thankful for them.Thank you.Ahmed Family

Actually I have a question. i am in UAE tourist visa and I would like to renew visa through this border. Is it possible for me to do so by drive my own car?

Is the border with Oman open these days?

I have been doing visa in out for the past around 3 years and I find it best since I am US national they r bit extra friendly.

I visited oman through this boarder, they were friendly on both side.I have these notes to provide for travelers:1- it is better to prepare your omani visa online (regardless of your nationality) to save some time, short visiting visa costs 5 Omani riyal by the way.2- leaving from UAE would cost 30 AED for each person.3- if you are leaving with your car, and you have no omani insurance, then you must buy an insurance BEFORE stamping the passport, there is an office that sells short term contract for 100 AED.Follow these steps and you wont be late at all :)
