Attended the Mamma Mia show by Benny Anderson musical , it was really magical show , very well organised and very amusing, Place is very nice, very organised, self parking available underground, show tickets includes welcome drink πΉ masks must be worn all the time and no video shooting is allowed π
As much as I love the Dubai Opera building from the outside and inside, as it truly is an architectural gem, and Iβve been there 4 times to see different shows, I have to say that Iβm very disappointed with the experience! All opera houses around the world, have a set of spoken and unspoken etiquette and rules which are expected when visiting any Opera house, and they are there for a reason, music and art are a high form of entertainment, and these rules insures both the performer and the Opera goers to enjoy this experience. The other night, we went to see the Joker, and although the show was phenomenal, all surrounding details were not! To name a few:1. Food was allowed inside the theatre!!!!!!! I understand the Joker movie was played, but this is an Opera house and NO food should be allowed while a live orchestra is playing under any circumstances. People were very loud eating and opening the food packets, with zero consideration for anyone around them and this went on throughout the entire time!!2. There was no announcement regarding closing your mobile phones or putting them on silent. People had their phones up, flashes were seen, calls were made, and the light emitting from these phones was very distracting.3. People were allowed to enter the hall after the show started! This was also very annoying as the ushers had to put their phone light on to guide these people and caused big commotion.4. A lot of people were talking and discussing long conversations throughout the show and the ushers did not address this even though we have asked them to but I understand how hesitant they were because people are rude!I just really hope the Dubai Opera will rise up to the standards of other Opera houses as it truly is very disappointing and heart breaking to see the standards going down like this.
Dubai Opera is truly unique venue, and the citys first purpose-built multi-format performing arts theatre in the heart of downtown Dubai, One of the most elegant and culturally important venues in Dubai. The opening of Dubai Opera a couple of years ago and the subsequent programming have improved my life here in the UAE and ME. I think one of the things many expats miss is the easy access to cultural events similar to in their home country and Dubai Opera fills this need. It has a great program of artists. The acoustics and architecture are great. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Visitors dress up elegantly which adds to a great atmosphere.
Dubai Opera is a 2,000-seat, multi-format, performing arts centre, which is located within The Opera District in Downtown Dubai. It was developed by Emaar Properties to host a variety of performances and events including theatre, opera, ballet, concerts, conferences and exhibitions. Its plans were announced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in March 2012 and it was completed in 2016. It opened on 31 August 2016 with a performance by PlΓ‘cido Domingo. The first season featured Bizets The Pearl Fishers opera and also the legendary tenor JosΓ© Carreras. Dubai Opera has flat floor capacity of 1,800 m2 (19,000 sq ft). This floor can be hired for weddings, gala dinners, fashion shows and exhibitions.
One of the worst customer service, when it comes to management. I booked ticket by mistake one day later. Since I was leaving Dubai, on the day my ticket was purchased, I reached out to, to see if they can change my VIP ticket to a day earlier. After speaking to an agent on the phone, he informed me that he will pass my request to a management and that it shouldnβt be a problem to change the date. A day later person, who responded to my request Andrei, said nothing could be done, due to high demand. I checked online and there were plenty of seats available to purchase. He also mentioned that my ticket is more expensive than the one for a show day earlier. I agreed for the difference in price not to be reimbursed to me, but still he refused, even though, they have seats available. So $400 went to a bin and I was not able to watch the show. Shame to see, that management of such exclusive place, is lacking experience in customer service.
From the booking process, through to welcome drinks on arrival everything was 5*.Watched mama mia, great show, and the staff strictly enforced covid restrictions, of mask wearing and social distancing.Beautiful building and great facilities. My only concern was the amount of illegal taxi drivers outside after the show asking for 100 aed for a 5 minute journey.Hope no one fell for it.
Shows are generally good - however services and facilities are appalling poor. I was given a cup of luke warm milk as a flat white - we were in vip seating so had paid premium price for this. The service is the same when in regular seating, gold / silver / box etcQueues are unmanageable and this makes the entire experience uncomfortable and unpleasant. Granted this is even with restricted numbers due to covid.Do not go to the opera house hungry or thirsty. Staff can be quite unfriendly as they seem under pressure and very little organization is present. Love the building and the theatre.
I had bought some tickets to watch mama mia and because of a medical emergency (not covid - but more serious) that didnt allow us to go, we asked for a refund for the tickets ( a week before the show) and the answer came as per the T&C, the tickets are non-refundable. A great example of real customer experience and empathy.
The venue itself is great. Each event we have attended at the Opera has been well organized and irrespective of the seats we took, you always have a good view of the stage. The staff are friendly and helpful. The beverage service is quick. What needs a major improvement is the website (desk and mobile) for booking tickets.
Me and my wife went to watch mamma mia show. It was exquisite and superb. I cant even describe the feelings. One of a kind. Thank you so much
Wow, pre- ordered our interval drinks and food. Worked out perfect! Mama Mia was one of the best musicals to see and such great fun.....loved every moment!!!!!!
The opera experience all socially distanced. It was very well managed and seats were managed to ensure that no one was sitting too close. Very impressed. In such uncertain times it was great to see that you are still able to go out and enjoy a show in a safe environmentShow was great and had loads of fun.
Went to watch Mama Mia - the show was AMAZING! The 3 star rating is more to do with the Opera operating staff. No clear signage for where to go - we were bounced between 4 individuals while trying to get our drinks - then found out that one of our drinks wasnt even available on the special. At the end of the show we had to walk through a crowd of people that were being sent to a different exit because nobody knew where to leave the building, security team waited until they were surrounded before vaguely directing people. Also half the entrances are closed but you dont know until you arrive at the door and peer through the glass at security who, again, just vaguely wave you around the building.Tl:dr - great show, operating management needs to take an interest.
Amazed by the design which inspired by the Arabian sea. Nice food. Good service. No dress code. Price for value. Valet parking available or free parking in basement.
Saw Mamamia and had a fantastic experience!! Looking forward to seeing the next show!
A must see location if you have never been to an opera house before. The interiors and the layout are so plush, the stage setting and the lighting add so much more depth to the experience of whatever it is you are watching happening onstage. And though the options are limited, there is a bar as well. One visit is well worth the price youd have to pay for a tour of the place and its facilities. Highly recommend you include this location in your itinerary during your Dubai holiday.
Amazing opera house, it can be modify according to ones choice like an auditorium, or a theatre or a party hall or a stadium. Must visit place in Dubai. This is the place where traditional culture meets modern technology.
Great place in Dubai, with nice international shows coming often π enjoy π
The show was spectacular and the venue beautiful but unfortunately they didnt follow through on their Covid protocols which were made very clear throughout the evening. Dont get me wrong, I will most definitely be returning for as many shows as I can watch, I just believe they need to be stricter with everyone and not just a few people. Consistently enforcing their own rules and allowing visitors to have the most amazing experiences! See you soon Dubai Opera!
Excellent venue, elegant and beautiful decor, state of the art facility.
Watched Mama Mia last September 20, 2021. The show was superb!!!
Dubai opera is an experience.Dont park on green parking. Waste of money.Park before and walk for 20 seconds.Swan Lake was nice. Long. Around 2.5 hrs.No live music or orchestra. Just playback. Which was a disappointment. But performance was ok. Music was below average.Great place and well organisedSwan lake tickets are very over priced for what your actually getting.
The walk to the entrance of the opera house is impressive enough, with sparkly-light-laden trees and colourful fountains to admire along the way. The staff were helpful and courteous. There were numerous drink and food stations set up on each floor of the building. The elevator seemed to take a long time to arrive, so if its an option it is much quicker to use the escalators to traverse the floors. We were sat in stalls, with an unobstructed view of the stage. The seats are comfortable and spacious. The toilets are clean and well maintained.
Swan lake by Moscow city theather: extreme disappointment. what was presented on the stage should not to be sold out as ballet,Β its just entertaining dancing show.Β and if you see at least once Swan lake or other ballet in Bolshoi or Mariinsky,Β you understand what Im talking about.Β In addition, was not mentioned that theres no real orchestra!!!,Β in fact: dancing accompanied by CD,Β at some scenes they danced without music...Its great that Dubai opera brings to the ME region art of ballet, but please be more careful with your choice of the show and companies. It was pitty to spend 200 euro for ticket and see such type of ballet. Now I understand the reason why free drinks were served by Dubai opera)))
Amazing space, beautiful inside. Just look fir a show you like... and dont miss the experience.
So well organized and managed. Had a marvelous first experience there
Wonderful place that in this situation managed for audience to be safe and to enjoy program. Design its quite nice, seats are comfortable and from technical side, sound is so clear and smooth even if you are away from stage. Highly recommended π
Amazing experience... Extraordinary interior design, enthralling exterior.... All together , best to watch any kind of events/concerts..
Overall a great experience. Highly advise arriving early to get a good standing spot for your drinks/nibbles. Not much space when the area gets overcrowded
Dubai Opera is an excellent opera house. We went for a concert by Gypsy Kings and it was a fabulous experience. The place has Nice ambience, well organised, strict security and variety of drinks and a large seating capacity. It is located in downtown dubai and it is easy to reach there.
What fabulous venue to attend a show. A spectacular building, very open and unique, like all the structures in Dubai. The theatre is wonderful with a view from every seat. Comfortable and cool.Head there earlier as there is a restaurant on the upper level, where you can dine before the show without the worry of getting to the show on time. The food was spectacular and service was perfect. The lobby area is beautifully designed with spectacular chandeliers and balcones so you can take in enormity of the venue. Through the windows you can see the fountains from the Dubai Mall as the shoot up into the air. This is a great place to see, so if you are in Dubai a trip to the Opera is a must.
Dubai Opera is very beautiful. It is near Burj Khalifa. In the night time it looks awesome because of amazing lighting.
Very bad system if u 1 minute late they lock the door and not allow u for half an hour. Very rude disrespectful treatment. Evening was spoiled. And no system nothing is organized. Nobody apologized also. Dont go, waste of time
Dubai Opera is great, however went to see Mamma Mia and was not impressed about the cast and in general mediocre show
The place is awesome. We attended one concert last christmas season and we enjoyed the entire show. The usherettes of the opera house assisted us to our seat with smiles on their faces. The architecture of the place is also amazing, inside the building there are food stalls and souvenir shops where you can buy and eat. Outside, it is a picture perfect structure, looks so modern. Love the place wouldnt mind to visit again and enjoy another wonderful experience.
Luxury place with great service, gentle stuff and interesting shows..
Donβt ever opt for their βArchitectural Tourβ! It is such a scam! Purchased and informed them about the dates beforehand and once me and two others got there, their lights were not working and noone was available to fix the problem! It was embarrassing to say the least since I had suggested to visit it and went with two family members only to be disappointed! Wasnt able to see the auditorium. Although I got a full refund, it was still a complete waste of time and effort. I highly doubt if I will visit to see any show!
Great venue. Good WiFi. The main stage is cool, and the whole place is filled with cool woodwork, comfy seats, and interesting lighting. The foyer space is modern and has a really cool light fixture with changing patterns.Maybe one day my friend Adam will come visit this place- I know he really likes good WiFi. I think heβll probably make a special trip from NYC to Dubai just to browse the web at high speed. He can look up all his weird stuff here for sure.
The place is great, I just didnt like the show I went to
I have been to the opera house twice already for the month of February. Itβs a place one should visit at least once a week just to enjoy oneself and chill out and take a break off a busy and stressful week.Far from world class opera standard, I think Dubai opera is set out to make a difference with its appearance and amazing customer services. Itβs got extra tight security so your safety is assured. Amazing shows everyday every week. The most recent one I attended and performed at was the Musica Gloria and I look forward to choirfest. Enjoy the few pictures attached.
We really enjoyed the place, especially the sound. Whatever seatings you may choose, I think itβll still be amazing. Definitely a must in Dubai, especially if great performers are visiting.
Fancy place, expected bigger halls and stages. Well organized concerts and events.
We had a tour of the opera booked and Rick showed us around. He was super friendly and helpful, he really made the experience very special! He could also answer all our questions and had a lot of patience with us and fun doing his job! When we come back to Dubai next time, we will visit the opera again for sure!
Dubai opera is an iconic building in Downtown Dubai. The architectural facts of the building is amazing whether you have a clean view from the plaza near the box office or the promenade.Inside the auditorium also watching a performance is an experience that creates a pleasant memory. This building is a multifunctional venue as it can be transformed into different theatrical modes including banqueting to holds events like weddings, parties and many more. There are free parking in the boulevards as well as paid parking inside Dubai Opera basements controlled by green parking operatives. It is a place I would love to be every time!!!
Excellent! Was a great night. My compliments to the Band...Well done guys
Great to have an opera house in Dubai. If there only was a minimum level of decency in the audience! We went to an amazing concert by Luduvico Enaudi and loved the music. Thanks for the opera to bring such wonderful music to Dubai!!!The acoustics was decent, but as the sound was electronically amplified you were listening to the loudspeaker more than to the actual instruments - even in row 10. BUT. There were a number of real dislikes. The fact that people came late and were let in even after the concert was on for 10 minutes, squeezed through to their places in the middle, carrying their plastic cups with free floating drinks is unacceptable. Add to this the fact that people are shown their seats with incredibly bright lights. And even after getting seated 10 minutes into the concert, two local ladies started chatting. A kid played video games during the performance. Really? For a venue like this, people who are late should stay outside until recess. Or at least stand in the back until then. And go to one of the coffee shops outside if they want to chat.
Watched Edith Piaf. It really is spectacular... 5 star for the performers. Atmosphere was delightful ,people are from mix race. I love coming to the opera every time there is something nice to see.
Beautiful atmosphere for the architecture loving tourist! The iftar is a must! A classy atmosphere and professional and friendly service! And please, dont forget to run on the fountain outside, the considering security service is just amazing!
Le Petit Prince. Visited with my daughter 17 yo. Absolutely new, mysterious for our eyes play. The first 10 minutes had a feeling that: well, what is happening on the stage is all very strange..Β maybe the whole show will be held under the same atmosphere?!Β But after few minutes it started, the unforgettable moments.... This is not a musical, not a ballet, not acrobatic somersaults on stage. This is all together and even more. The entire performance is based on reading the text only by one actor. all the other actors convey the idea of the Little Prince with the help of bodies, movements, facial expressions, gestures, dance, acrobatics. And everything is clear without words. The music accompaniment of the performance was amazing, it made the soul cry. The quintessence was the song at the end of the performance, a soul-enveloping song. And we cried. An unforgettable play what I really liked.
Perfect place π love it, I ranked it 4 because the organisers force you to leave fast in 1 minute in a bad way.
A lovely, elegant place and I have enjoyed some amazing performances here, particularly CATS and Fast Love: the George Michael Tribute. I love the quirky fountains outside and the acoystics are amazing. But getting to it is hard. Its a LONG walk from the Metro and Parking is complicated too... so either way, give yourselves plenty of time.
The Dubai Opera House is just stunning! A beautiful place, located in a mesmerizing neighborhood, which keeps taking your breath away everywhere you look. Located right behind the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall, it is easy to get there as well as to park. The Opera House itself is amazing! It is very clean and the staff is very courteous. The restroom is also a piece of art! Just wonderful - I felt in love with it and its neighborhood β€οΈ
We entered the place and were stunned with the amount of beauty we saw. Super luxurious and amazing opera. I really havent seen a beautiful bathroom as the one they have
But they are the worst of returning policy. They refuse to return the tickets or even change it to different show under any circumstances. Sometimes you have urgent issues specially in covid times, even though they will not help. I booked one ticket before and I got positive at that time so I cannot attend the show, they refused to change the ticket even to other show I was not asking for money refund even. And now I booked ticked and got stuck in Other country and they closed the borders with UAE, they refused to do anything about it as well.
Charming place and very well organized with easy access to the parking .
Iftar. Ambience is outstanding. Excellent service. Very good food with a good variety. Live music. Complimentary hot drink to end the evening. We went as a couple but there were lots of friends and families. Everyone seemed to have a really good time. A MUST-DO IFTAR!
Attended two events at the opera, and latest was Bohemian. we were escorted to our booth after having a private reception. staff were all following the social distancing rules and walking arround assuring everyone is wearing masks even while seated. the quality of sound and layout were amazing. worth every penny spent. cant wait for my next visit with my husband...
Watched the musical ghost. Absolutely scintillating. Ambience beautiful. Parking easy and free. Perhaps after the show, drop in for Japanese Moishi ice cream....delicious!
Frequent visitor. Excellent Service. Going by car can be difficult, special and Thursday evening. Come at least one hour early!
An evening at the opera is always magical and classy, for people who loves and enjoys the arts theatreβs and quality entertainment.
Amazing ππ I took a tour (combined, front and back stage for one hour for 85 Dirhams) with Patrick! He was very kind and open to answer questions. It was a nice tour to see the Opera and what the stage and audoturim can do. Back stage rooms like the movies hahaha. Go for it. I also met Hamda a friendly lady and tour guide at the opera as well
What a beautiful building! We went to the bar on the top floor. They have on wednesdays for ladies oysters and prosecco! Was such a great experienceThe staff are wonderful and the ambiance is gorgeous! This is my new Wednesday spot for sure!

Dubai Opera has free wifi, amazing view from Royal Circle, clean washrooms, friendly staff. A few steps of walk, there is a Geant store and few eateries beside it. Dubai Taxis were dispatched soon for all those looking for a ride. Good job Dubai!
Wonderful place with amazing atmosphere. I love going to Dubai Opera

Great staffNice theatreI wish the seats were a little more comfortable for the prices you pay. Many different performancesAlcohol and food currently not allowed inside, not even a bottle of water.A nice Moet vending machine to buy some champagne .
This is the view from platinum behind seat row XPretty decentFurthers from the stage and closest to the exit and entry doorJust ensure to wear for the occasion when going to Dubai OperaYou will see people glammed upEnjoy
Never disappoints. Saw Julio Iglesias 50 years concert. Loved the ambiance, atmosphere and the acoustics of the hall. Drinks available in the lobby before the event. A must visit place.
Its like any other theatre... But better! Its next to the Burj Khalifa, so.. ππ Thats got to count for something π
A very nice place to chill, at the same time you can enjoy all attractions together with The Dubai Opera, The Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa, The Fountain and more, Awesome place
Nice look, very well thought sound insulation and accoustic, but it miss the culture ... Went there and had the pleasure to listen to the National Youth Orchestra playing before a show, and while the orchestra was playing, the Opera House was streaming pop music in their sound system... Bit of a shame
First of all very good signage and direction arrows for the P3 parking sub level , ample of it there , paid green and free also . Just one level up you reach the ground level near the beautiful jumping fountains . Grand entry gate ,awesome interiors , the best landmark after BK in downtown . Really a dazzling place . Bravo Emaar .
