Restaurant located near Burj Al Arab. It has gorgeous view to the sea and sunset. Reservation in advance is needed. Food was great, even though we waited main course for 1.15 h. A bit crowded in the evening, but this is compensated with nice music. Service was exceptional.

First of all the place has a good vibe. Once you are in you already feel good. Then the food is really good, service is easy and pleasant, the shisha is also very good...the amazing sunset is for free! As bonus, you have amazing water and Burj Al Arab just steps away if you prefer the view. The music also is well chosen and all these details together and separated gives values one to others make a complete beautiful picture. Is my day time/sunset time place where I feel at the pick having everything pf good quality for a chill and good food day! Enjoy it you too!

One of the absolute best Greek restaurants in Dubai. Superb views and food. Highly recommend the moussaka, prawns and chicken souvlaki. Calamari and the eggplant salad for starters. 👌

After a disappointing experience at another place we had to make quick changes and find different restaurant for a lunch, and we couldnt be more happy that our choice was Shimmers. We had an amazing lunch, beautiful view and relaxing atmosphere. This place made our day and we completely forgot that it didnt start that well.

Shimmers is the best place for chilling, especially at the sunset time. There aren’t a lot of variety of mains, thus better to eat somewhere else.

Great atmosphere and the food was amazing as well.The watermelon salad is surprisingly good, we loved the calamari and the fish we shared. Dont skip the Greek yogurt ice cream, its a must.

The food is inspired by the mediterranen kitchen. Very tasteful and delicious. Very friendly staff. We recommend to make a reservation through the Jumeira Hotel.

Great place with an amazing view of Burj Al Arab. It has two sections, one which is like the cafe/lounge area for drinks, light bites and desserts right by the beach and on the sand-so make sure you’re not in heels for that- and another with wooden floor where you can enjoy the restaurant options. Restaurant requires prior reservation as it’s always buzzing while the lounge doesn’t but there’s usually a huge waiting list on weekends so either arrive early or be prepared to wait.Free valet parking at the hotel entrance but make sure you let the restaurant activate ur parking card before you leave otherwise you’ll be charged as per valet parking rates.Service is great but can be a bit slow since not too many waiters are serving the lounge area. It gets pretty chilly at sun down in the winter n early spring so make sure you have a shawl or a light jacket with you.Also prices are a bit on the medium-high end so make sure you are ready to splurge.Overall, a great experience.

Cannot think of a better spot for some drinks at the beach in Dubai right now - the service is attentive and friendly, the prices are reasonable. The view and the location are excellent!

Breathtaking view, amazing music and a great vibe.. However, food are just samples with no variety of main courses or appetizers.

We have eaten at Shimmers on a number of occasions and we have had a great experience every time. It is a really nice venue on the beach. The food and drinks are great and the waiting staff are excellent. Had an only in Dubai moment there when we were getting mobbed by seagulls, but luckily someone came along with a Falcon, and the seagulls were gone.

Nice place on the beach of Madinat Jumeirah.We had a good lunch with friends.Greek salad composition was good but taste of vegetables was not matching the place, for that place and prices cegetables should be waaaay better.Club sandwich was good, grilled meat also well done. Very good service, good ambience&views. Overall experience good!

Stunning place and so relaxing with a very Mediterranean vibe and feel. Came here for dinner on a Thursday evening, staff was welcoming, weather was great, and food was light and delicious. Great place if you are craving fish. Chill place to come with family, friends, or a date. I had the baked sea bass , which was really good and light. Watermelon salad for appetizer is also quite good. We could see the waves from our table and with Burj al Arab in the backyard. Our server Sanjay did a fantastic job with attentive service.

One of the best places to chill direct at the beach. Great service on the days I visited.3 stars down for the terrible attitude from hostesses. Dont understand why this is necessary. But Dubai, London and other places this seems to be the norm now 🙄Miss the days where you were greeted by the professional waiter, who love their job and are with you throughout the meal.Nowadays you are served by 5 if not 8 different people throughout the meal. I guess people are now so accustomed to this routine that nobody notice anymore...

I took my friends out for dinner to Shimmers for my birthday, and we ALL loved the place, especially the food!!! This front desk white girl had the most appalling attitude from the moment we set foot there you could tell she didnt want to attend to us, girl with dark hair, didnt get her name. She could clearly see us waiting pretended to try help someone who was ALREADY BEING HELPED! finally she walks up to us and we ask for a table. I asked for an extra chair, she didnt bring one. This girl made us feel totally unwelcome and Ive lived in Dubai for 5+yrs never experienced this & this was before we sat down. There was definitely a racial undertone with her treatment towards us. The female waiters as well have this attitude, one forgot my fries and brings it later and says courtesy of the chef?! how is that possible if I ordered & paid for it? instead of acknowledging she forgot a portion of the order which took a really long time fyi. Poor service, pathetic attitude from the female waiters, Im sorry if you cant be polite & your job is to wait on people get another job, its simple! The passive racism is despicable. its just the location and ambience that makes up for this place!!!

I came today at 13:00 with my mum to Shimmers, to have a coffee and enjoy the view. The restaurant was completely empty, as it usually opens then, but two girls at the front desk told us we couldnt have a coffee because we didnt make any reservations and they were fully booked. They were very impolite and with an attitude that this kind of the restaurant shouldnt have. I told them we particularly came to this place, spent some time to come, and we wouldnt mind having a quick coffee by the bar. Both of them told loudly: We dont have a bar! So we only went to the beach to take photos. We were there for about 15min, noone yet came, and the restaurant was still empty. When we left, we saw girls were talking to two guys, who also came with the same reason, to have a coffee, and their laughter and smiles showed they were about to give them a seat. They didnt even acknowledged when we left and said bye. So unprofessional, rude and unacceptable for such a place. Although the view is beautiful, the impression the staff left is very bad and I wont recommend this place to anyone.

Very busy and you should book ahead however great place to have a drink and relax with a shisha pipe. On the beach in front of the hotel, however easy to get lost through the hotel.

While visiting Madinat Jumeirah, we came in to Mina A Salam to inquire about getting into Shimmers - and how to reserve. We were received by the most arrogant man in the lobby with the rudest welcome I was yet to see in Dubai or even elsewhere. Honestly it’s a shame to make no effort to guide or inform paying customers who want to visit your venue.

Shimmers is a great place. We went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and had mentioned the same while reserving a table there. So shimmers reserved two tables for us - one at the beach and one at the patio to move back after the sunset (inside) - and surprised us with rose petal decoration, handmade leaf crown and a cake.Sunil served us over there and he was amazing. Never seen such a great hospitality.

Over the top restaurant, did my proposal there, great authentic greek food, staff is more than helpful and attractive. Dream location! Special thanks to general manager Nugzar, he showed us what true hospitality is! Will attach some photos of the private beach tent they offered us! I tried two times to take a dinner there with no success. First time I called to make a reservation and they told me that I don’t need a reservation, (first served policy) and when I went to the restaurant they told me that they are fully booked and they were very rude afterwards. Second time I’ve made a reservation with 5 days in advance because that was the only available slot for the dinner. On the reservation day I called for confirmation just to be sure, unfortunately my reservation was somehow “moved” two days earlier, practically I “missed” my reservation.Even though I didn’t dine there, their customer service is extremely bad (their front desk personnell is useless and very rude).

This resturant is located in an amazing spot, one of its kind to watch sunset, highly recommended for couples romantic dinner and shisha, they dont take reservations so first come first serve, best time to go around 5 pm and check the weather before you go there as it may be disturbing during a windy weather....finally beware of birds pops hehehe

One star for the view and vibe, which is very nice.However, TERRIBLE service. The worst i have experienced in my life. My mom and I were there only for 30 minutes, super quick, we had drinks and apps. Our waiter, a chunky Russian man, was rude the entire time and even told my mom to “hurry up” as she was ordering. At the end when he brought the bill, he told me there is a minimum spend of “300 per person”, so our bill needs to be “600”. LOLLL the four seasons and burj al Arab hotel doesn’t even do that. Totally insane. He then said “I’ll let you go just this time because you didn’t know” Come to find out there is NO MINIMUM spend. So he lied. The waiters there need to humble themselves and go back to serving college

Terrible experience, ending in our not dining or drinking there.First my girlfriend and I tried to and couldnt make a reservation both with a phone call and via their website. The reason was their first come first serve policy. Sure, fine. We went there, only to be told by a hostess that you need to have a reservation, with no regards whatsoever about their first come first serve.Ok. At this point, you still give them some slack, and make a reservation for a day after tomorrow. All the while a hostess is not really dedicated to you or your needs, but rather talks to other guests or staff in the meantime. You are just standing there, waiting for the confirmation.At the final try, the hostess greets us by telling us that there is a minimum 250 AED per person. After several attempts (phone calls and website (both TripAdvisor and their site) as well as personal reservation, nobody told us about the minimum spending requirement. After we tried to explain that nobody told us, or asked to just have a drink, the hostess only repeated that there is a minimum spending requirement. Again, with no regards to our needs, or without trying to be accomodating. To our getting half a town there, twice. Guess you should check yourself all those points before you make plans. All the while you just stand and wait for her chat with the staff to be finished.Incompetent, imprecise, unaccomodating.

I tried to book a table for a group of friends 6 days before and I was told that they will send me an email with the confirmation in 3 days which I never got.Then when I tried to call them to know what is happening with my booking 3 days before the day the answer was that it is 700aed minimum spend per person.Horrible costumer service and the most overpriced restaurant I’ve ever seen in my life.Never coming here after them never replying to my booking until I had to double check what was happening.

The best spot to view the majestic 5-star hotel Burj Al Arab.

I used to love this place and visit it very often not just as a restaurant bur as a cafe as well. The pouches on the beach with the view of burj al arab is really charming and the greek food they serve is also superb. Back then when we used to go they had a minimum charge of 100 AED per person not including the sheesha.Unfortunately, this has come up to 250 AED and that is still without the sheesha. This makes it unattractive for people to just chill on there beach pouches which are anyways designed for walk in.I still love that place and it is a must visit if you did not visit it before!

Avoid at all cost. Book a table by the beach 4 days before, surprisingly the table by the beach has been booked yearly by other, which does not make any sense. Yet put us in a corner table mix with another random people and told me that they dont have a table where else I have made the booking 4 days before, and the operator I spoke with confirmed that she specifically book a table for us by the beach. Logic? Waited for 35 mins without anybody assistance left us clueless whats next so I decided to leave. Horrible experience! Its was a must visit yearly with my husband but not anymore. Thank you for ruining our plan on the very last day of our visit in Dubai.

Nice place to chill and relax

In my whole life I have never experienced this kind of ambivalent feelings out of a restaurant. The food is beyound perfection (Moussaka, Fried Calamari, Steak and fries), however the service is beyond outrage.On december 4th, we (as a family) tried to appoint a reservation for the following day’s lunch. When denied for full occupation, we still tried to catch a table without reservation in this half-full restaurant, on december 5th. I’ve counted at least 7 completely empty tables. There were no government-implied measures of reduced capacity taken into actions. When asking the receptionists if we can sit at one of those empty tables, we got denied once again, even when promising to grab a quick lunch and evaporating as soon as their appointed guests would have appeared. The receptionists told us all of the tables would have the reservations fulfilled in ten minutes. This happened approximately at 4:15 PM. I asked them, if they were joking, because I highly doubted the restaurant would double its occupation in ten minutes. As we empirically confirmed to ourselves, it didn’t. Nevertheless, we appointed a reservation for December 7th. As we barely sat down, our menus got exchanged for a smaller menu, out of which all the meals we got to taste were undeniably great. However some other incidents emerged, such as an unbearably long waiting to get another chair for later arriving guest. I’d reccomend this restaurant to any fan of a great meal with a decent portion of sense for patience.

Only pleasant, friendly, and professional staff to us were “omar” and “Mohamad” ONLY. The rest were extremely rude and unprofessional.

Place is nice. But it is disorganized. We stayed in Al Naseem hotel. 20% discount was in our package in all restaurants. But they don’t know anything about it in the restaurant. They couldn’t reach reception via the phone. And we paid 100%. Once we came to the reception, we asked reception again. And they said we should have 20% discount in this restaurant. I cannot understand, how so good 5 stars hotel has this miscommunication between its departments

The octopus was raw and I felt so bad.And the service: when we cold they told us that we don’t need reservation and after we came they said we are fully booked.It’s not acceptableI would never recommend this place for anyone.And when we complained to the Manager, he was not helpful at all. The location is priceless, and only the place would deserve five stars, but also the service and the food quality is very good. Maybe the Wine menu could be better, but you are in the beach restaurant. You will find too good wines here. We had a perfect evening with friends, recommend to come here. The service is fast and try to fulfill every which.
