I absolutely HATE this place! You cant browse or think here. All the vendors come at you and want you to buy things you have no interest in. It is so noisey!!! And the fact that there are no prices (or rarely) make it too annoying to want to even ask for the price, much less start negotiating!The smoking in such close quarters is unbearable too!!!The stores just outside of the Gold Souk are much more civil and they treat you professionally, but the prices for gold are so expensive!!! I know that you are supposed to haggle, but this is way too much work!I found one sale rack of dresses, with a price. Which was ideal. However, as soon as I tried looking, I was overwhelmed with a guy who kept insisting to show me dresses. I had to leave, just to get my head from spinning.This place might get more sales if we werent attacked as if we were walking down a street in India by starving children.List prices and notes, if it is negotiable. You may get more interest. I personally just wanted to run away, the way it is now. They are way too aggressive!

This place is must-visit in Dubai. Its a sensory overload with the all the gold, diamonds and jewels displayed top to bottom in the tall & wide windows of the hundreds of shops here. There are so many jewellery designs to see all around. Its all grand and quite beautiful. Its supposed to be the cheapest gold market in the world and you can see that by the crowds thronging to the shops. The path through the souk is covered and there are lots of benches to sit, so walking through the big area in the hot Dubai sun is not much of a problem.

Its amazing! So many people trying to get you to buy from their store. Lots of options and deals to be made. I cant wait to go back! So much fun

The place is huge! Its like a flea market but instead of stalls of random titbits, theres jewellery shops all over the place. Although the jewellery shops are small, theres variety to overwhelm anyone. Its is definitely worth a visit if youre a first timer to Dubai else if you need to buy some really amazing designs. Generally the shops dont have a fixed price system and there is some scope of bargaining. They also have discounts in summers and also during the year end shopping festival. The place is full of peddlers who sell fake high end bags. It is better to be stay away from the likes of them. Overall the energy of the place is palpable and i enjoyed my visit to the gold souk a lot!

Its competitive there and thats the only place in Dubai where I witnessed assertiveness (in New York we term it aggressiveness) with the only intention to succeed and not harm or deceive anyone. The workers are honest and they operate from a place of trust.

This street attracts all the Dubai visitors, even if they don’t want to buy anything here. Tons of real golden ornaments are just displayed in each shop, with eye catching amazing designs. We were astonished to see a gold shoe in the display, in one shop.This is very near to Al Ras metro station and you get lot of taxi on the main road. Mostly you would not get a slot in the parking area, as the shopwalas vehicles will be permanently parked there.Avoid payment by credit card and pay by cash AED, so that you can bargain well. You start with minimum 30 to 40 percent less than that they demand. Otherwise you will be fooled.
