Romantic atmosphere, mouth-watering Italian pizzas, the basket of bread was soft, fresh and flavoursome, good wine, stunning views, few waitresses were hospitable. Expensive food. They were busy so had no time for individual table attention, however, they did check on us at the end. Will definitely revisit this place when the weather gets more pleasant for some outdoor experience as well. The bartender was friendly too.

Alici, an Italian seafood restaurant in Bluewaters Island. Beautiful ambiance and atmosphere (apart from the very loud music. I can’t understand how management cannot distinguish between a discotheque and a restaurant). Food is mixed blessings. Appetizers were very good. Desserts were also very good. Main and pasta were average.

Heard so many good things about this restaurant do we decided to go here for date night. Wow! They really did not disappoint! Everything was absolutely incredible. From the extremely delicious food, to the impeccable service of the staff. We got the Burrata as our starter which was delicious, as all Burrata is no matter where you order from. Yet they put a twist on their presentation as they Sliced the Burrata in half along the side so its served with the entire inside visible. Our mains were the Tagliolini Al Tartufo and the Risotto Gamberi di Mazara. Both fantastic, the Tagliolini was out of this world. Honestly the best pasta dish I have ever tried in the UAE. We loved it so much that we decided to order a second portion. The tiramisu was great too as you can taste the quality of ingredients theyve put into making it. The staff were incredible too. Not a single moment went by where we had to turn around and ask for something. Its like they know what to do at the exact precise moment. The moment you take the last sip of your drink, they refill it. The moment your meal is done, they offer to serve another portion or clear the plates. Everyone was cheerful and smiling throughout the service. I know you cant exactly see the smiles behind the masks but you can hear it in their voices. This place get a 10/10 from in all aspects. Food, service and atmosphere.

Il Borro was my top Italian resto in Dubai, but now Alici is my favorite. The menu is very exciting and it reminds me of the food in the Amalfi Coast. The ambiance of the restaurant is truly beautiful. They’ve done such a great job with the decor, the warmth, and the lighting. It’s a very comfortable place to be in. The views are gorgeous from the upper floor. I think the team at Alici may have given us the nicest table at the venue. The service was also very very good. The staff was extremely attending and the manager came to check in with us. Food came reasonably fast without sacrificing cooking or taste. We shared the baby squid and the Buffalo pizza 😍😍😍 Then my friend had ravioli which was beyond good and I had the garganelli pasta with a nice lamb ragú. We didn’t get dessert because the savory plates were enough but the team shared with us some very tiny and perfect sweet bites at the end to pair with our drinks.I’m very much looking forward to coming back in general for my healthy carb load but I’m especially ready to visit in the fall/winter time in Dubai when we can sit outside and enjoy more than a handful of drinks with friends.

Alici is always a treat. Freshest fruits de mer, including the local favorite, Dibba bay oysters, amazingly creamy burrata, great selection of wines and the fun vibe is a trade mark of this waterfront favourite, of both locals and tourists. Best SEAFOOD restaurant in UAE! Oh well, I don’t know where to start. Amazing experience form the moment you reach the restaurant till you leave. Called the restaurant and booked the table in 1 minute. Valet parking is located right next to the restaurant (1 mins walk). Valet is AED 55 per service. Alternatively there is plenty of underground parking spaces, which are free. Stunning design and atmosphere as soon as you enter Alici. Greeted by super friendly host and escorted to our table. Waiter and the manager of the place himself (Mr. Danny) personally recommended the dishes according to our dietary requirements. Each and every dish was to die for, amazing presentation, flavor and big portion. As we were celebrating wedding anniversary, we we offered a complimentary desserts with Happy Anniversary message. Lemon Cheesecake is the best I’ve ever tried, had to take some home for the family to try. The best restaurant choice ever. In the coming winter times - I’ll be chilling on that outdoor terrace overlooking JBR. Superb experience! Thank you Alici team, keep up the good work ♥️ we are speechless and can’t wait to come back and try more of those yummy culinary masterpieces.

The worst service I have experienced in a while. After the booking experience I should have known. They have time slots and seem particularly pedantic about them. We had a booking at 5pm, we called at 4:55pm to let them know we were on our way however would be there 5:20. They informed us no problem but only had the table until 7pm. When we arrived there was no table ready and were sat next to the bar. Why? We had booked out table for 5pm. Would we have been made to wait 25 minutes if we had of arrived 5pm? Considering their precious time slots this was disappointing. Initially the service seemed promising and our drink orders were taken and offered recommendations from the menu, then things became a little rushed. For the food order we felt pressure to order immediately before having a chance to properly look at the menu. We just ordered our starter as had not looked at the mains yet. We ordered the Frito misto which was very tasty and well cooked although they added sardines, octopus and crab. Three seafood my partner does not eat. We would have preferred getting what we ordered. For my main I ordered was the ravioli with cod. The cod was over cooked and dry like it had been frozen and serving temperature like it had been prepared in tepid water. It probably would have been a lot nicer had it been served hot on a warm plate. Not a bad dish, but could be improved. We also ordered the pizza. The pizza was perfect! Shame it was not served on a hot plate. The base was crispy and they have perfected their recipe for the dough. If I was the chef I would feel devastated that the front of house are letting them down. After we were served our mains (6pm) that was it! Service stopped! They were so engrossed in preparing for the 7pm service. Several staff walked past us on many occasions avoiding eye contact and left our empty plates for 20minutes. It felt like we were unobserved and they were just focusing on the next time slot. The venue itself is beautiful. I loved every detail of the Mediterranean decor. It’s a shame some of the staff seemed more boujie than the clientele. Not one of them asked about our meal or if we needed anything. We weren’t offered any desserts or coffees, or even another drink. We had noted that it was our anniversary. Nothing! I would be unlikely to return. The view is nice but there are several better options in my opinion like Shimmers or Fish. I feel annoyed that we wasted celebratory dinner here!

Without doubt the WORST meal I have had in my 16 years in Dubai. Including restaurants that are just a fraction of Alici prices. Even these restaurants have genuine people working and wanting to make the dininh experience (fovourably) memorable. But NOT in Alici. More staff here more interested in getting recognised and breathing on the oxygen of arrogance and self importance. Truly awful experience. Not even a visit or conversation with a manager (despite Aed 800 per head spend) - even though 2 of the dishes we ordered going back to the kitchen only half eaten. We were never asked why or if there was something wrong with those dishesHere I am, 34 days after the visit, still beyond angry with having chosen this restaurant for a special occasion and for tolerating such awful food and staff attitude

Amazing entrees but their mains were very disappointing. I could not even finish my pasta al vongole - the pasta tasted like from a supermarket package; the one my husband makes at home with packaged pasta that we buy from Eataly is even tastier and it does not taste like plastic (and it is not a matter of being al dente or not). And the seafood pasta I make myself is tastier too, in terms of sauce. My husband ordered the tagliata di wagyu, he said that he is quite sure it is not wagyu as it was not tender at all, it was actually quite hard and had this big thick layer of fat around it. It looked very unappetising and apparently it was. (NB: he had wagyu in many countries in the world and he knows about this.)If we ever go back to this restaurant, we will stick to entrees, as the Schiacciata al tartufo nero was fantastic, and the arancini al ragu di mare was very tasty too.The tiramisu in the end was nice, but nothing spectacular.

Alici is situated in Bluewaters Dubai. At the time of this review Bluewaters can firmly be described as ‘working to enhance your experience’. Most units remain shuttered and the Wheel remains under construction for Expo 2020.This means Alici is one of the few (good) restaurants open with an enviously places view overlooking the sandy Dubai Marina skyline and teal waters of the Arabian Sea alive with jet skis and yachts. The outside terrace is replete with trees and cobalt pots making for excellent al fresco dining in the more forgiving winter months. There is very generous seating space inside but you want a seat upstairs. The floor to ceiling windows allow sunshine to flood into the dining room with uninterrupted views of the skyline. At lunch you’ll have a bright beautiful view and at sunset you can watch Dubai Marina transform from sand to pink to fiery sunset. The spacious floor is enhanced by the neutral colour scheme of white with hints of cobalt, earth tones and smart grey blue and white stripped chairs. Olive trees and framed pictures of water colours and sketches make Alici feel more homely. The good sized bar is adjacent to the open plan kitchen with a direct view of the chefs hard at work. Old Italian music gently piped through the restaurant. The menu is primarily seafood (the clue was in the name) but there are a number of options available in case someone doesn’t want that (query why you are here).I order the grilled octopus with beluga lentils with a saffron red pepper romanesco sauce (85 dhs) followed by the oven baked Atlantic halibut with clams, razor clams, mussels and a seafood broth (135 dhs). The octopus arrives striking like a latticed weave of meaty, pale amethyst tentacles collapsed on a rubble of moss-coloured lentils; it looks like a scene where this violently octopus crashed upon a pebbled beach but decided to style it out.It is perfectly cooked: firm but yielding with a soft sweet and yet slightly charred flavour of which the latter is boosted by the inherently earthy lentils. It’s a modern surf and turf interpretation. This is a very large starter and frankly both in portion size and price could easily be a main course. It demands a white wine bursting with gooseberries or a young, fruity red - unusually, I am not drinking this lunch time. The saffron red pepper romanesco is a beautiful apricot colour and brings a subtle fruitiness to temper these earthy lentils. I recommend the kitchen leans into the saffron or red pepper a little more as neither come through strongly.A steaky, thick wedge of halibut arrives in a rouge pool of its own sauce accompanied by candy-sweet tomatoes, black olives, razor clams, clams and mussels topped with thyme springs and basil. If you enjoy the traditional Sicilian fish stew of similar constituents then you’ll love this. The fish is firm but yielding. Every ingredient is very well cooked and the in umido cooking gives a harmonious continuity throughout bringing the dish together. It’s a casually plated dish which is more complicated than it appears. I quickly regret scarfing the bread basket making a school boy error leaving no carb sponges behind to steep in this sauce.A trio of cannolis arrive: chocolate, orange and pistachio. They appear like long stuffed finger cuffs wrapped delicately around scented cream fillings. The crisp cannoli shatters when pried open like a clam. My favourite is the aromatic orange that leaves a soft clean citrus taste to cut through the darker chocolate and toasted nutty pistachio.Petit fours arrive unexpectedly together with the double macchiato I ordered challenging even my resilient levels to greed.Frankly I can’t stop talking about the place and neither can anyone else. My only mistake was to drive here making it impossible to traverse the seriously good looking and reasonably priced wine menu. A mistake I shall only make once. Wine started at 50 dhs by the glass and 230 dhs by the bottle. This pales in comparison to some lesser restaurants where bottles start around 700 dhs.

Another posh place with very little flavor. You will get an italian food. and a good one. but you do not get a flavor of Italy, italian service or atmosphere. in other words - italian cuisine in a not so italian restaurant. when i asked for a glass of prosecco - they brought me Ferrari brut, an italian sparkling wine. when i spelled out word prosecco they said they would only sell it in a bottle. dont remember hearing anything like that in any restaurant in Italy. on a phone they told me dress code is no shorts and no open shoes. had to stop by home to change before going to the restaurant. saw a dude in shorts rushing into restaurant before me. when asking hostesses (there were 3 of them, probably very important role, or maybe justifying prices in the menu) - they said it was an exception. anyways, Mohammed, a waiter from Egypt working there was probably the only person who knows what client service is... sommelier and restaurant manager - uptight and hardly useful... if you really miss good italian food then go there, but dont expect italian ambience.

The two stars are for the location and the refined and pleasantly informal environment. Food, service and value for money absolutely to be rejected. We booked a table for two for 9.30 pm on the terrace. When we arrived we had to insist (very unpleasant) to have the table on the terrace as it was booked. After a wait of over 30 minutes we were seated at a table for six in the most unhappy corner of the terrace. The “fritto misto”did not have the necessary lightness. Greater disappointment for spaghetti with anchovies with crumb, since the anchovies did not arrive and the only flavor present was that of the crumb soaked in low-quality oil which provided acidity during the night. Absolutely not corresponding to the price compared to the quality of the food served!

That was extremely awkward for our host and for us. And even more, at the time of paying the bill another waiter came addressing the whole table in loud voice that the deposit will not be charged. So cheap and lacking taste and style. Good restaurants know who the host is and whisper rather than behaving in such vulgarity talking about money. There were high net worth individuals on that table and found this attitude revolting. Never again.

The pizza looked authentic (unseasoned) and there was carton after-taste. The soup was so-so, the main course (risotto 135 dirhams) was so-so. Wine was good. The desert was great! Although I didn’t feel good after dinner like i felt like vomiting but possibly its my selection of food. So sweet of such cheap restaurant judging people from their appearances.
