Also there is so much traffic congestion here that it takes average 20minutes to travel two kilometres in these roads. The gold souks were my favorite part because they were not insisting you come into their shops. Very clean and also benches to sit down and enjoy the views!!! If youre going for a wander round to take in the atmosphere rather than some serious shopping, it might not be worth it. Sellers just hassle you constantly, you cant look in a shop window without a few guys appearing from nowhere to see if you want gold, bgs, tshirts, anything at all. Its a bit comical at times really. Its easy to find, there are many signs and maps, so in my opinion you can easily visit without a guide. Streets in the gold souk are wider than in the spice souk.Like in the other souks, know before you come that you will be constantly approached by shop owners and street vendors not only to buy gold, but also to buy counterfeit designer bags. Personally, this makes me uncomfortable. I take a long time to select jewellery for purchase and like to browse without being pressured or having to bargain. So we came here strictly as tourists. We didnt feel unsafe but we wish we would have had more time and space to take a look at some of the window displays which were really spectacular. We felt we had to keep moving to avoid being surrounded by pushy sellers, which was a pity. I had hoped to see the biggest gold ring in the world which is supposed to be displayed here, but we never found it. I was also hoping to look at bracelets, but ultimately I didnt trust myself to know what would be a genuinely good deal and passed on the opportunity. That said, I dont want to scare anyone off, the gold is truly worth seeing. Just know what to expect ahead of time.

Therefore for a simple retail buyer the prices that are quoted and later reduced after some bargaining, is still much higher than what a person/business buying in bulk can secure. 3, the margins placed on the making charge is much higher than what you normally find in the market. This was a bit surprising to me as I understand most pieces found here are machine made/cut than handmade, which should translate into a lesser premium.We went to the souk with the intention of buying some pieces, but we ended up getting nothing as we felt the prices were way beyond what we were used to. Nevertheless we thoroughly enjoyed the experience of witnessing a place like no other which I would recommend everyone out there to enjoy!

Kanz, Malabar, damas....and so many names around Dubai Gold Souk. A great place for shopping of quality jewelleries made of gold & diamonds. You can even sell your old jewelleries here and buy new ones, couple of shops buy old jewelleries and pay good prices. The gold Souk may not be that far if you are staying in a nearby creek hotels. Shopkeepers are mostly courteous and welcoming. We did shopping in Kanz and they were very helpful. They probably have 7 outlets only in Dubai Gold Souk. Take some time to do the shopping and do not rush.

These are all real shops, not stalls. It’s all official here except for those people outside the shops that try to sell you Rolexes, fake designer bags etc... just ignore them. If you’re buying gold, you do need to have some money as this is gold we’re talking about. They will always give you discount compared to the price mentioned on the item. I recommend looking up gold prices etc and compare to how much you’d pay for the same item in your home country to see if it’s worth it.

Souk means market, so basically gold souk is a gold market. Its located in deira Dubai separated from bur Dubai by Dubai creek. Its a market with hundreds of shops dealing not only in gold but also in fragrances called attars and antiques. Basically Dubai is like gold capital of world though there is no gold found in UAE. Still gold market developed here thanks to the fact that arabs were sea going traders and there is a lot of love for gold in middle east and south Asia. You can find variety of excellent designs in gold ornaments here , also you can buy gold of various contents of gold like 18 carats to the purest 24 carats. And as this is the center of world for gold , no Matter where you are from you will find it cheaper here than back home. We bought gold and diamond rings from mignas shop and as it was dubai shopping festival we got a whopping 30% discount. Also they give you certificate of authenticity if you ask for one. We checked the strength of gold back home with our goldsmith and it was true in carats. So a must visit place if you happen to be in Dubai.👌🏼👍🏻

Lovely and very interesting and beautiful place. I liked the stalls and shops and just the hustle and bustle of the place which gave it such a great atmosphere. Bought some saffron and spices but no gold unfortunately. Lovely shops and restaurants. JGT

This was one of the stops during our tours. I wish we came here earlier in the week because we wanted to have personalized jewelry but didn’t know it could be done same day. Our tour only let us stay for about 30 min. Some vendors deliver to your hotel but we were leaving that night so it was too close of a call to risk. We will be back! Every window was dazzled with jewelry. You bargain here for the best price.

The gold souk was definitely something for the senses - everywhere you look there are beautiful colors, smells, and people.It was a bit overwhelming with the constant bombardment of sales people trying to get you to buy their stuff. If youre an American, be sure to be aware of the price of an item before you try to haggle with them. Theyll try to jack the price up, and dont be afraid to walk away.

Dubai gold souk and bring your wallet loooool and did i forgot your wife. If someone likes gold or silver this is the place to be. Also a lot of other shopping malls and small shops dollar stores near by.

I think this is the biggest gold market in the world. Here you can see gold like a vegetable or fish or pork in the market. I mean gold is very normal items like that.

Definitely the best place to buy gold in UAE. There are hundreds of shops selling golds and other precious metals and stones. The price changes everyday, so please do some research before coming here. Major hotels in dubai usually have daily gold price displayed in their lobby. The souk is located in deira, walking distance from the abra boat station. Definitely worth a visit even if youre not buying any gold.

It is a good place to visit, offering a variety of gold jewellery. However, I think it is a bit pricey for charging around 15 AED per gram for the design, plus 5% of sales tax.

The travel to gold souk was through a ferry and the ferry ride was refreshing in the scorching heat of Dubai. It is mainly a street with lots of gold shops . A great place to shop gold, mostly seen Indian jewellers there. Also you can buy souvenirs from this place. Be ready to walk and lot in the crowd and also keep yourselves hydrated. Not recommended if you have a very small baby with you and not interested in gold, this cab be skipped.

Some of the stores in the Gold Souk made me feel like Aladdin trapped in the cave with all the gold! Never seen anything like it. After some serious negotiating we made a purchase of a gold chain and two pendants. We walked out paying 1/3 of the asking price! Be ready for some serious negotiating if you want to catch a deal.

It’s fun to simply roam and to be wowed by the amount of what appears to be gold from the windows of the shops.If you are afraid to say no thank you and move on, you might skip this - I liked the offers from the street hustlers on counterfeit products despite not buying anything.
