The initial occurrence of my medical problem was 12 years back. Over these years, I went through 3 different surgeries to correct it and the problem kept recurring. Strangely, I came to know of Dr. Abbas while googling for a colo-rectal specialist in Dubai:)From my very first meeting, it was clear to me that I was in the care of a very experienced, confident and yet realistic medical practitioner. When the problem flared again, I knew exactly who to go to. After a first surgical procedure to deal with the infection, Dr.Abbas did the second surgery to permanently repair the problem. Throughout this 4 months of interaction, every visit felt constructive and comforting. Its been 3 months since i have been treated by the Dr and am feeling good. He is like an Angel to me to treat me after i have one bad surgery & was hospitalized for 5 days for no reason. He listened to me carefully, identified the root cause and then did my surgery (which was 2nd surgery for me after a horrific surgery at Medcare! & hence i wont recommend that hospital to anyone). I was very scared honestly being such a sensitive area and getting operated twice, but the Dr. helped me, made me understand and I believed him. Pre & post surgery care were good and I am satisfied. Truly 10 stars to the Dr. !!!

Dr Maher Abbas is a superb , professional surgeon. From day one he made my husband and I feel confident and secure in all the procedures that were to come in the months that followed. He answered all our questions however trivial and reassured my husband throughout all the operations. The after care and follow up appointments continued the outstanding service. First appointement was excellent - he listened carefully and took a very professional and complete approach on finding the root cause of the issues i had.Very systematic & caring. He advised to go for further checks to select the best care for my issue: colonoscopy, which is indeed the best approach for someone with my family’s history and synptoms.Colonoscopy was done one time very professionally in Kings college hospital Dubai with an excellent team. Detailed report was available directly and Dr came to explain me the results.Went for a follow up appointement were he explained me the exact findings and gave me the choice between surgery or a last try on conservative method for which i opted to avoid surgery.Extremely satisfied with his manners and his deonthology. Go to him without hesistation and you can expect the best care.

I was recently treated by Dr.Maher A.Abbas. From consultation to surgery to post surgery consultation a 5 star rating is not enough. I felt understood, all of my needs were met and exceeded and i can highly recommend him. One of the most capable doctors i met.

Although most people would not welcome surgery, I had to recently and had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Abbas. The Dr. explained the options and procedures step by step and generally it turned out exactly as prescribed. Dr. Abbas also has an excellent bedside manner, polite and respectful to the patient. I have had the pleasure of being a patient of doctor Maher who has done my surgery. I went to him after consulting other surgeons in the country. Right from the first consultation he answered my questions in a very direct and concrete way. No political answers with back pedaling room. He has implemented the surgery successfully and as painlessly as possible. He also walked me through the recovery period and what to expect. He was in my hospital room the next day early morning to check on me and was accessible to me if I had questions later throughout the recovery period. It was never about money with him. I later found out that he has worked in The Mayo Clinic USA for 6 years and years after that in Cleveland clinic USA. He also trains other surgeons in the country on how to do the colorectal. I guess now I am not surprised. The professionalism and focus on care is front and center with this doctor.One last thing is the big difference in consultation outcomes. Had I listened to the other surgeons I met before this doctor I would have had the wrong procedure implemented which I now know wouldve caused later complications and possibly been ineffective from the get go. The night and day deference amongst doctors in this city is dazzling. In a sea of commercialized medicine and profit-first doctors it was refreshing and a pleasure to have met doctor Maher.

Very professional and polite doctor.. helps patient to understand the root cause of any problem... underwent a surgery with him. It was my first surgery, i was really scared. He made me understood and executed the same with complete professional approach. Would recommend him throughout my lifetime.

After initially having seen a doctor who missed the diagnose, I saw Dr. Maher Abbas who performed the correct diagnostic procedures and found out that I had appendicitis. I was then informed by him of the options that included the one that is the standard of care ie having the appendix removed , but he also informed me of a less invasive option and more controversial one ie trying to heal the appendicitis with an antibiotics cure. Even though I chose the operation I really appreciated being appropriately informed. The operation was performed immediately afterwards and the next day I was already walking and discharged from the hospital. Since then I went back twice for check ups. Both times he took the time to check if the incision sites were healing properly and informed me about what not to do after such an operation. In short, I am very happy with the care he provided and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

I had a traumatic childbirth resulting in several pelvic problems. I thought a part of my life was over until I met Dr. Maher. He was thorough and professional and guided me and my family step by step through a very difficult surgery. I feel like a new person now. Highly recommend him.
