I lived here for six years and never wanted to leave. The reputation back then was that the Greens where a place that newcomers lived for a while before moving on. I found it quite the opposite. Its one of the few areas of Dubai that had a community feel, just being able to walk to the shops and cafes rather than drive everywhere was a big attraction.As for the Al Ghaf building itself, it seemed well maintained, quiet and safe. The pool was never over busy and lovely to sit besides during the cooler days in Dubai.
