Location is nice, food is good but nothing crazy. We ordered one seafood and one chicken paella, fried calamari, jamon and a couple of desserts. Service was a bit mediocre, sangria really overpriced. There is a lot of space for improvement here but its not a place that can really disappoint you, it is only an average place compared to other competitor restaurants. Sorry guys.

We went for brunch on a Saturday, and the concept of Saturday brunches is great! However, it was an average experience. The staff is really great, the drinks are good as well. Also the appetizers / first round of food with tapas is really tasty and good. But the paella wasn’t really good. And the poor seafood topping is kind of just thrown on top, not really cooked together. We would much rather had more tapas and just a small paella instead. The dessert was also quite good.Overall it wasn’t the brunch we expected. Also the high walls at the outside area are blocking a bit the view and it was just an average experience. All in all great for tapas!

Easily the best Spanish eatery in the city. Everything from the olives and aged Manchego to the tapas are amazing. The croquettes and patta bravas stand out, while the garlic prawns and incredible. Each time we visit we try and get a recommendation for a new dish (having been here 6 times, we possibly have had the entire menu. The recent visit we had the pork belly which was amazing. It is best to visit with a group of people so that you can order lots of the tapas and get to sample many of the culinary delights.

Great as always. Team dinner. The tapas choice is excellent and enough for dinner. The wine choice is good but could be better. There are many more Spanish wines from different parts of Spain which they could have- but the wine selection has remained static for a long time. Also I would recommend that only Spanish wines be served.

I was lucky enough to be invited for a private dinner with the Murgaca team who were in UAE for the Gulf food with their Luxury Lamb from Spain. The Dinner was at EL Sur where chef was given the luxury lamb and he curated some of the best dishes with the precious. The menu engages with all the five senses with visually stunning dishes, delight on the palate and aromas of Spain and promises to set a benchmark for contemporary Spanish cuisineWe started off withLamb Parfait with Manchego Cheese - Very GoodLamb Jelly with Cauliflower PilPil and Mushroom Dust - Highly recommendedLamb Croquette - The Best Totally Recommended.Reverse Lamb Sandwich with roasted garlic cream -This was an unique dish I tried for the first time and i was so astonished with the taste.Neck Terrain with Peas Cream and Manchego Foam - this beautifully plated dish was top notch in both looks and taste.Baby Lamb Shoulder with Patata Panderas - The baby lamb was incrediebly tender and spruced up deliciliously.Milky Rice - This was very good with the combination of rice and cream. LOVED IT!!!!The Restaurant is with terrace seating and a spacious, well-lit interior. The atmosphere is upbeat and lively.Staff very effecient and service is very good.

What a satisfactory Saturday brunch! I think I can say that this is one of the best brunches I have ever enjoyed in Dubai. Taste wise and volume wise, very much entertaining restaurant. From the tasty gazpacho to exquisite dessert in the end, every taste tasted just awesome. It goes without saying that I loved black paella with cattle fish but what I loved the beer is croquette with sweet jam. This was surprisingly delicious!

Looking for other Spanish Restaurant. I went one week ago to El Sur. Two of my friends liked to eat Spanish food and we decided to go there because the location was convenient and usually the food in the Westin is good. I did not comment to my friends, but this was the worst Spanish food I have had in my life. The Sea Food paella had too much fat, and the taste was like if they used previously the Paellera to prepare meat, did not clean the paellera (pan to make paella), and they did a seafood paella with meat flavor, six raw shrimp .....very poor seafood. The Tortilla was far away from the standard Tortilla and it was more an omelet bad done than a Tortilla. The Tuna Tartar was very deficient. The torreja was a block of bread, was not a torreja and the Tarta de Queso Vasca was like a cheesecake that you prepare from a package that you buy in the Super Market; We only tried the desserts and left it. My friends ate the food but asked me to try another Spanish restaurant the next time. I placed two stars because the attention was good and the desserts were not charged (we left all). The Manager has to looking for a Spanish Chef (the Colombian and Philippine that you had that night are not good)

Food was very tasty. Service was okay but slow. Started out enjoying Happy Hour with friends before our reservation. Was seated at our table and our order was taken. Took quite awhile to get our water and soft drink but the wine came quick. I ordered a tapas and quinoa salad while my wife ordered the Seabass. The tapas and salad was served quickly and we waited for my wifes Seabass. And waited. And waited. Finally, another server approached the manager(?) and pointed to our table. The server (not ours) approached our and asked if we were finished or needed something else. We told her we had not gotten my wifes Seabass. She went to the POS and then the kitchen. She came back in a few moments and told us the kitchen had gotten backed up (with four tables in the restaurant and no big parties?). We received the dish fairly quickly after that. It was also quite delicious. At no point did anybody ask us how our meal was. Our original server never came back to the table. When we got the check, the Seabass was the last item on the bill other than the dessert. When we were ready to pay the bill, nobody was around. That took some time. It was my birthday celebration and they did bring a complimentary dessert. Bread pudding(?) and a lemon sorbet. Very delicious and my wife, who does not typically, like bread pudding, enjoyed it as well. When we left, there was nobody around to acknowledge our leaving.Highly recommend it but have your server repeat back the order. Food was good and music was perfect for the ambience.

Before I talk about the food, I would like to say that they were Covid compliant which put us at ease and helped us enjoy the evening. The culinary experience at this restaurant was a delight not to mention the great service provided. While they had many dishes to choose from, we decided to go with Tapas. While we ordered quite a few Tapas, the one that stood out for me was the Green Chili Peppers. At first, I wasn’t sure about the peppers but the moment I took the first bite I knew I was going to finish it. To close off the evening, I ordered a cappuccino which was no less than something from a very good coffee house. Overall I had a great time at this restaurant and would definitely come back.

Went for the Friday Brunch. Unlimited tapas were good. Outdoor terrace was lively yet not crowded. The live music from a neighboring restaurant was a little too loud to drown out to listen to just El Surs music. El Sur staff responded well by lowering their own music volume so we were able to just enjoy the neighboring live music.Staff readily made adjustments to accommodate for a few different dietary restrictions within our party. Overall, the service was the high point of our brunch experience.

I was surprised reading some of the reviews here prior, that the service we received was actually some of the best Ive received in any restaurant, anywhere. Friendly, attentive, and they were wonderful with our two young children. The food is also of a very high standard, fresh and creative. Yes this restaurant -- like any in the Westin complex -- is at the upper end of the price scale, but we found it was better value than some of the others around the hotel based on our experience, especially with some good happy hour (4-8pm) specials for food/beverages.

I attended the brunch on Saturday, due to the company being great the day was lovely. However the food was below average. The tapas starters were very basic. The paella lacked flavor and the servings were not adequate for a party of 20. I actually only ended up getting rice.... no meat or seafoodI already had to keep asking the staff for more drinks so after two hours I was fed up of having to ask for something else, so I just accepted paying 320aed for some rice.

This Spanish Restaurant in Dubai feels surprisingly authentic, with the majority of staff and management being of Spanish origin, I almost felt like I was in southern Spain! We booked a table for two on the terrace which made for quite a romantic setting as the sun set. The waiter was very attentive and the food served was delicious. We took advantage of a Tuesday night promotion (6 tapas dishes per person with unlimited sangria and beer), the highlight being the garlic and chili prawns. We were also given some complimentary nibbles at the start of the meal and complimentary shots to seal an exceptional night. It is these little touches which make the difference between a good experience and an exceptional experience ;)

The Standout Star here !Prime Beef Rib Eye - Great but not memorableSangria - Meh . Not worth the 150 a jug !Value For Money - this was about dhs700 for 3 ppl... So quite an expensive dinner for a casual night out but theyre on the Entertainer which helps . The quality of food is pretty high end.Service - Reception was great. However, our waiter didnt really seem eager to see us there as we were last order of the night. He did his job but needs a lot of training to be up to the standard of quality of the food and ambience. He was quite abrupt and never asked how we enjoyed the food or if we needed anything. Food was quick and exactly what we ordered so that was great. Conclusion - expensive but the food and ambience are worth it even with the improvements needed on service. More of a date night venue than a night out with friends but hey maybe your friends are different. Overall, probably the best Spanish food Ive had in the UAE and Im very likely to return.

Last time we came here, few months ago, it was a five stars place for us, so sad and disappointed to discover that some of the dishes (tortilla, airbag...) have nothing to do with the previous taste, and the service is not as good as before. Apart from being a good place to eat Spanish tapas and enjoy the atmosphere ... you expect that being in a five star hotel; you will get a five star treatment; but that us surely not going to be the case if you have to talk to the bar tender who us absolutely rude person, lacking discipline, courtesy and proper training by the restaurant management... the person I refer to looked my friend in the eye when he was complaining about the quality of his drink and didnt even apologize once but waited until my friend returned his vodka half filled glass and he poured vodka in the empty half of the glass carelessly with a mockery smile on his face and told him drink this now... I guess this attitude reflects quality of the place and takes a lot from the food side of it ... indeed a very potentially good experience made so bad by the action of one person.

This place has really gone down hill in terms of the food. The cocktails are still very good. We went back for brunch this friday and I can safely say this was the worst brunch experience I have had in my 8 years in Dubai. Only one of the tapas dishes had any real flavour and the food was either over cooked or cold by the time it made it to our table. The first glass of bubbles my wife had was full of flies. She didnt even get an apology. Wont be back ever again. What happened to this place?

I was invited for a business dinner last night, so I chose The Westin since I never been there. “They have El Sur”, so I thought will hv Paella. We were seated right away, no buffet only á la carte. Spotted the Rice with mushroom and truffles and it was superbe. Another appetizer (47 aed) was a small jar with maybe 5 big spanish green olives, but they never scrimped on the bread and olive oil to dip. Or main, they had chicken paella, no seafood one but the chef prepared one for us (looked and tasted Catalan not Spanish). When ordered dessert I wanted to try the Caramelized Brioche with Lemon Ice cream, the ice cream was wonderfully tart but the brioche could take more caramelization.Because the table service was not as expected (even though the waiter tried hard to please), the manager made up for it by offering a second dessert and I opted for more of the ice cream. That wiped off all the shortcomings to make our meet memorable. One thing to note is that this is a bar-restaurant with the smoke smelled before you enter, and is noisy.

Probably the worst Brunch for value in the entire UAE for a restaurant that displays nearly a five star rating, it makes one wonder who provided this rating and whats it based on. Marketed as a high grade Spanish restaurant, why is the only house wine served is South African and the cheapest you can buy that comes by the box!! Asked to look at the label, we were presented a 1Ltr box of wine that retails for around AED60 any wine ordered than this is additional to the brunch cost.Look at the menu posted online in their web site shows wonderfully displayed dishes yet none of these are served in brunch and the waiters are constantly pushing bland and potatoe dishes despite repeated requests for seafood and meet. The biggest surprise is the lamb, the picture in their menu shows a lamb shank but what you get is three slivers of lamb, its actually laughable that a restaurant gets away with charging these prices for the dishes that are served. If you really want value combined with good food and service, simply stay away from El Sur, its appalling and gives brunch a bad name fo those who enjoy their quality of food and service and dont mind paying for it!!!
