This is the only engineering association in the UAE. Their website is out dated which requires an overhaul to stop it from crashing and to improve the user experience. However, after a few months of constant follow up and getting a new requirement after every call I made; I went to their office in Dubai, Al Qusais to submit my documents and was expecting to be attended by one of the customer service agents but they were busy chatting behind the counter and I was only attended by the security who took my documents to the room inside for verification. After getting that done, I was shocked by how unprofessional the accountant was who’s asked me to make the payment. The way he’s asked me for money I felt like I was defaulting on a loan payments or a criminal or something like that. I asked him if he was okay because the way he’s asked for money is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. So don’t be shocked if the accountant makes you feel weird. You’d need to pay AED 200 extra if you would want to receive your membership card on the spot, otherwise you will need to wait for 5 business days to get it delivered to you.

You can apply online for a cheaper membership fees (440) or directly there for 642. Online will take longer to issue a card, but they will give you a receipt which can be used instead of the card. Applying directly will get you the card immediately. You can apply for others, but they have to come at the end to sign. No long queue there. Ease of access from the road with plenty of free parking.

A great venue for the IELTS exams. Not sure about the place otherwise.

Had difficulty in locating the place as the map had shown a different location with same name, it was almost 7 kms away. Had to find the correct location from their website.The parking space is ample and the entrance very easy to find. Staff is friendly and professional. They know the details, even the security guy knows the basic guidelines ;)

Society of Engineers Is the place where accreditation of Engineers is done in UAE, which is mandatory for Engineers to be recognise in Local authorities.They had the Training & Development center, Arbitration center and Employment center.The Training and Development center provides free seminars on monthly and weekly basis,Numerous Engineering, IT, Technical and Management courses available at the center.The training and development center collaborates with different organisations, private companies and government sectors to produce a seminar that will be valuable to all the engineers to be aware of the latest technologies that is offered in the UAE market.

The place is nice, staff is helpful and the best thing of all is that it has its own free and huge parking.I went in to get my society of engineers card renewed and later change the name of company in my profile. The waiting area was clean and the staff was very diligent and helpful. They used to accept cash only but glad that they have started accepting cards now. I asked for urgent card renewal and cost me around 420 aed but the service was quick and my card was printed within 30 mins.To change the company name I had to request online and although the request was not resolved immediately, they did manage to get it approved and updated in their system within 2 days.Before you go here make sure you take all your academic and experience documents with you and you might need your own means of transportation.

It is located in Al Mamzar area north of Dubai, UAE. The staff are friendly and helpful. Though I wish they go paperless. can we have things processed without paper? come one this is too late already. other than that, I hope there will be more of social activities and trips to factories and projects, even outside UAE

I have been trying to renew my membership online in the website of SOE but their website is down for last few weeks. I tried calling them no response.I visited their office one day. They are very slow at their desk too.... I am planning now not to renew this membership anymore

I have been here for Cisco examinations and registration as an engineer. The customer service is okay but not the best. Please plan to go when you have sufficient time to wait.The Pearson office though, which is the Cisco testing center, has good services, and is a good testing venue.

I had an exam there and everybody were so nice . I felt really relaxed during the my gmat test

Very busy all the time. You have to wait always to submit your papers. Cashier is very slow and you have to do the payment In cash. No available ATM machines in the building so you have to drive if you need more cash. Services need to improve really since its part of the government process .
