Dance lessons at Spanda are amazing! The passion and authenticity of the teachers is palpable and very motivating for students at any level. They are dedicated, knowledgeable, and importantly devoid of any pretense, all of which allows students to create strong bonds with their teachers that in turn allows for accelerated learning. I have made serious progress in my practice both on the physical and theoretical levels, and I am very grateful. I would recommend this dance school to anyone inside and outside Dubai (via online classes). Definitely worth a visit if you’re thinking of pursuing Bharatanatyam practice…

Is it ever too late to pursue an art form at late 30s?this was my apprehension that I shared with my guru Mrs Puja unni..its never too late to start and do what you love. Age doesnt matter in dancing(believe me) thats the assurance she gave me..and thus started my venture this new year along with my 9 year old daughter..very happy with the dedication of Guru Puja and Guru Arya..the lessons pour from their heart..Joining Spanda is one of best decisions I have made. Its not only about learning to dance, its also about shaping your mind and I am thoroughly enjoying the two hours of giving new emotions and experiences. All the best Spanda

I really love the way of teaching each art here at Spanda. I found it’s unique and the dedication level of the teachers are really appreciative. I found Spanda as a perfect place for Bharatanatyam, music and art classes. Good for kids and adults as well. Hope they will soon introduce classes for musical instruments too.

Thanks so much to Puja at Spanda! I was explaining what we did today in class to my husband and I found myself in happy tears....I completely forgot this part of me and how challenged I felt every dance class I took. Im sure I will be waddling along every class 🤣 but its awoken something in me I thought I had lost forever ❤️ Ive missed dance so much. I really appreciate you for giving that back to me 🥰Having lost my form and even passion for dance for a few years, I was anxious but open to learn. I can safely say, every minute movement and form is corrected then and there. Every class we not just perfect our physical form but our mind as well. Going to class is like meditation + boot camp. I know it will hurt but you bloom when you submit to the process. If you join Spanda you are guaranteed to bloom if you submit ❤ highly recommend!!

Spanda..it is one of the most positive and vibrant place iv been to. It was for my 6 year old son to learn carnatic vocal that i first visited them and when i saw the place and met Puja it completely inspired me to join in for Bharatanatiyam, which i always wanted to do but never could.Im very happy with everything at Spanda, the teachers, the ambiance, their approach, unique presentation. Spanda is the place to go to for learning the traditional mural art. They have a very cosy and comforting atmosphere with a very friendly team. It has become a place of tranquillity for almost everyone who goes there for classes. Also you learn a lot about your art in a very simple yet intense course structure. Highly recommend it and thank Puja and her husband for having such a lovely place and team.

Spanda was one of the best decision i have made in regards to carnatic music classes. I was having a gap of 10 years and now i back to track with my carnatic music classes and i highly recommend Spanda and thanks to Puja and Sunil Sir.

Spanda by Puja Unni is one of the most amazing dance school in Dubai which maintains the authenticity of Bharatanatyam.Puja Unni being a well trained and passionate dancer commenced this wonderful organisation. Other than dance, what I wana highlight is that the kids here are moulded to wonderful human beings with good discipline.Puja also organises few creative events and workshops for students of Spanda to help their progress in different sectors including dance and drama.They also have a LADIES batch with a bunch of dancing enthusiast.If you are interested in Mural Painting ,they have mural painting classes during weekdays and weekends.I totally recommend Spanda by Puja Unni👍🏻10 ⭐s

Studio and teachers are excellent but they have an issue with anyone wearing a mask while dance routines . I explained to them that your point is valid but due to current COVID scenario one must take full precautions and wearing a single surgical mask ( not very tight fitting ) will do no harm especially for us who have no respiratory illness . And at least let me allow to wear if others don’t want to.. but they didn’t budge . I wasn’t told this clause before and was allowed to attend class only after full payment .., and had done full payment for the classes and paid for the dress also . And after the first 2 classes and realising the risk involved , once I insisted that I will not do practice without mask, I was just made to sit on one side and made to watch others and was asked to practice on my own at home .I asked for online options or a refund but everything was refused . I really feel cheated ..These rules are valid in a normal condition but in COVID situation , I don’t know why they don’t understand . We all know that this virus remains suspended in air even after one leaves the room . Rigorous activity will leave more virus shedding especially in a closed room..No mask means we are exposing ourselves as well as our family..they should understand before forcing their rules onto others or else should clear everything beforehand before taking the fees ..

“Always walk through life as if you have something new to learn and you will.” An artist in me got fine-tuned when I joined in Spanda. A great place to learn mural painting. A perfect ambience and conducive atmosphere for the art classes. Flexibility of the timing for learners is a highlight in Spanda by Puja Unni , but no compromise in quality. I highly recommend this place and Mr. Aneesh Mepate wonderful tutoring.

I decided to resurrect my training in Bharatanatyam post a 20 year break from the dance form. One of the key motivator was witnessing the Arangetram of Spandas students a few years ago. It was evident that the students were given holistic and in-depth dance education and not simply trained to perform. I was blessed to be initiated into Bharatanatyam at the tender age of six and with physical disability by the living legend Melattur S Natarajan. Back then, it was wired into my being that Indian classical dance is more than a physical activity, it is a body, mind and soul practice that requires commitment and discipline. A complete dance education includes physical practice, knowing literature, history and theory that forms the foundation of the art form as well as spiritual discussions and exploration. I am glad to have found this at Spanda and highly recommend the academy and its teachers to committed and serious seekers of Bharatanatyam.
