Nice picturesque place in the middle of the desert. No direct access by road, although you can go with a sedan. Clear blue water with white salt flakes above it. Quite a nice place to shoot photos especially at sunset. You can get nice colourful view of different combination of colour on your frame. Better to go little early before sunset as it becomes crowded afterwards.
This is indeed an interesting place. The road going there is passable with a standard car however about 100 meters out there is a lip you need to cross. If you do not have good ground clearance you could get stuck or as I did smash up my front splitter 😩. There are multiple ways in so be careful which one you choose. Also not that if you follow Google you could end up on the wrong side of the fence, again as we did 🤣🤣🤣. Best bet is to use Google satellite image to guide you in once your get close.
Unique place to take photos, but that’s about all. Best time to go is at sunset, so better leave a little early if you’re coming from the city. The exact coordinates are available online — better use that for directions because all of my friends who went here too got lost as well. There are also a few off road moments so an SUV would be recommended.
Off Road Drive, If you know your way to the Fossil Dunes, it’s best to head in that direction. When you pass the dunes, take the right sand track after bridge. Follow the track till end.Just off the road, on both sides are these huge man made channels filled with emerald green water completely encrusted in salt that almost looks like a layer of snow along the waters edges
Subhanallah,Beauty at its best!!!Beautiful salt deposits and so clean to see. Best to be there during the early morning hours and see the sunrise.. Avoid evenings as its too crowded both in winters and summers and also so that the water is untouched and u can see the real beauty in its colour..Wear comfortable clothes as you will have to climb up the sandy path.. Make sure the kids wear slippers not shoes (my kids got experimental with their clarks shoes and started throwing and floating them in water 🙄 yes the shoes and slipper would float in the salt lake)U can drive and reach there even by a sedan, easily accessible just follow the google map till the wathba fossils and drive till the first bridge then take right and drive in sand parallel to the high tention wires. Till u see a construction site, stop, climb up and see ( follow settelite view of google map)No lights (Donot stay there after dark)No washroomNo restaurant and cafesNo storesCrystals are soft on the corners so be careful and u dont want hurt urself one of our group member bruised her feet so u might want to carry a first aid kit to be on a safer side.Wathba Fossils and wathba dunes are very close by and you might want to enjoy that too on the same trip.
Nature is the best beauty 😍 went to this place after seeing instagram reels 😄 its a way deep drive into desert around 20 min in rough road , between u dont need a 4X4 normal sedan & hatchback also will do the job & about the place : its a worth drive from abudhabi , enjoy the sunset here take some pictures with the bluewaters, sand dunes . Finally worth a visit ❤️
The Long Salt Lake In Abu Dhabi Is Truly One Of UAEs Wonders. Its simply stunning and great for instagrammers like me.Right before you start reading more details, if you are planning to visit Salt Lake anytime soon during weekends or weekdays make sure you keep it clean, if you bring things with you make sure you take them back, DO NOT leave any trash behind and lets maintains its natural wonder.Salt Lake is a beautiful place for families or group of friends looking for a BBQ party, sunrise lovers, sunset suckers or people looking for an overnight camping. As it is located in the middle of Abu Dhabi’s desert, it gets a bit difficult to spot the place so just follow the map and you will be there shortlyIf you have already visited the place do comment you experience and if you willing to visit this place then hurry up as the summer is already herePs: We left home around 5:30 am to get these beautiful shots
A man-made salt lake (trunch) located in Desert in Al Wathba. There is off road driving about 5-6 KM from Al Ain Truck Road however saloon car is fine but recommended four wheeler. The trunch has salt lake and Cristal blue waterbeds. Amazing view and salt deposited all part of trunch, that will make amazing experience for your trips. Recommended time evening before sun set.
If you need to take good photoplease go before sunsetbecause this is a desert area
Kids enjoyed....😘Its very cool and fun to see the crystallized salt in the lake and its also fun to go and walk on the salt and carry the salt.Very nice and long lake.Very beautiful and nice experience. But the only thing is dont go alone be with group of peoples, as it is some how far inside from main road (Offroad) driving. And avoid night visit as there is no any visible light near by.
If you going with google maps just follow lane 2006 and there is kacha which has big High voltage lines passing just follow that poles reach last pole take left and you will see amazing The long salt lake. Is same like dead sea hard rock salt . Its not easily visible if you put satellite view in google map you will reach eaaily. 4X4 drive recommended.
Raw natural beauty.Must visit before it gets too commercialised.Route on maps is not accurate for now. The last turn to touch plain rough road should be before the fence.
If you want to have some nice photos definitely come here to take it.
Good for long drive and relaxing, its has clean water, good for photo shot.
An amazing natural phenomena located inside a manmade trench. There are a few pools. The salt deposits are fascinating. The water is clear and colorful.
Its in the middle of no where ! But its amazing place to visit
It is off road by atleast 5 kms. However a sedan is good enough. There are already car tracks to the place and you just have to follow the tracks.. you would be surprised to see such a place in the desert. Please visit before sunset and after sunrise for the best photos
Beautiful gateway and calm place for sightseeing and many other sports activities 👌🏻💯
Its a little off the beaten track, so highly recommend travelling in SUV or 4WD vehicles. Tends to be extremely sunny and dry during the day, so carry refreshments, sunglasses and caps. No convenience stores for miles around, so make sure you have enough supply of water and snacks if youre a group. Ideal time for scenic photos and fun is between 4:30-6:00 pm.I would advise you to NOT walk barefoot in the water/beach area, because the salt is crystallised and hard, and will cut through your skin easily. I learnt it the hard way by slipping into the water and scraping my arms and knees 😂Its something not yet popularised, so we got it before the crowds start hoarding it.
Im so sad after broken people for this lake 🥲💔
Stunning 🤩 Explore the hidden Gem of Abu Dhabi 💖
Very touristic but perfect for insta posts
The most beautiful place in Abu Dhabi! Water is very clean!
No asphalt road, only need to follow the sand road and you can’t see it direct as around it small sands dunes.
It was worst then before if you want to go there u have to have a 4x4 car
Very beautiful salt crystals are amazing .
Nice place full of salt water
Dont follow Google maps! Some unfortunates did and got stuck. Check the GPS coordinates yourself. 4x4 not required but its a very tough track, not signposted at all.
