A unique dining experience. I was expecting to be nervous, but it was actually relaxing. I usually do not eat much but actually my appetite increased in the dark. Is very interesting and funny to discuss and debate with my friends trying to guess what we are eating. A must try!

Dinning in the dark is exceptionally extraordinary concept, a truly magnificent experience of having dinner in a pitch black dining room learning how to dine using all your senses (smell, touch, hearing, taste ) except the vision .Our journey start with a welcome drink and selection of canapé followed by a briefing session prior to the beginning of our dinner where they explain about the rules and the regulations / safety of the dinning in the dark .We were escorted to our table by Joel wearing night vision goggles.Food is delicious (starter, main ,desert ) and the Finest part of this dining experience is to try to guess what you eating.at the end a gathering with the chef explaining the menu description , it’s wonderful how lovely the food was presented .Great service, Warm hospitality, friendly and informative staff, mind blowing experience ,unforgettable and should be tried once in a lifetime.Note : Add Dinner in the dark to your bucket list ! Im not a Food Blogger nor a Restaurant Critic, however I want to share with you my experience with the new concept of Dining in the Dark at Bab Al Qasr Hotel - Abu Dhabi.We were invited, my beautiful wife and I, by the one and only Elias Saad to a pre-launch dinner at the new restaurant Fresh Basil - Pitch Black Dining located in the five star hotel.Dining in the Dark! a brand new concept in Abu Dhabi and the first of its kind in the city. A breath-taking whole experience that made us wonder what we loved the most, the luxurious location, the delicious food, the friendly service or the extraordinary Dark Room. It is indeed an amazing must try new experience, that I highly recommend.Why am I so impressed? Well, being blindly seated by the waiter, served food that you can only smell and taste, wondering what the creative chef prepared for you is the answer.When it comes to the socializing part, you find yourself sharing thoughts and ideas about the food with 15 other person in the dark room, without knowing to whom you are talking to. Electronic devices are not allowed!!!! Just chatting with each others! Its madness! Its an exciting weird yet fun experience to be lived with your friends and loved ones.Kudos to Elias Saad and his amazing team!

In my opinion, the place is overall a fun experience. I get anxiety at times and it was odd being in pitch black for an hourNo cameras.. no lights ... but plenty of action!The food itself is awesome, true fine dining quality, but the real reason to visit is the unique experience which is like nothing I have done before and was one of those things that I would recommend anyone adding to your bucket list.

Pitch Black Dining in the Dark a must try in the capital city. This unique experience put on a test on your senses, removing your eye sight. A welcome drink and a canape make your eyes relax and ready for darkness. A briefing was conducted on your journey toward this unique experience. A totally pitch black our guide was able to guide us from the start till the end of our meal..After the dinner we invite again to the briefing table, so the chef showcase the mysterious menu visually while having a cup of coffee or tea.Over all I must say, 10/10 unique experience, definetly I will come back with my wife..

Fresh Basil at Bab Al Qasr Hotel has launched an unique dining experience “Dining in the Dark” which is one and only unique dining experience in Abu Dhabi.In order to dine here, you will have to do advance reservation and mentioned your preferences alone with any allergens as the menu is mysterious. You will have to be on time as before dining, there will be briefing. While you arrived, there will be welcome drink as well as canapés. After briefing, the staff will take you to the Dining room(dark room) as mentioned “Dining in the Dark”😊. No mobile or any other accessories which have light are not allowed to carry as safety box will be provided on briefing table. you can choose wines from your briefing table if you wish to have true experience of wines while Dining in the Dark.I enjoyed here in fresh basil with an unique experience “Dining in the Dark” and highly recommended this place. Everyone should try this unique experience. The chefs will describe and show the samples of food what we had in dark at the end once we are back to briefing table from Dining. I will not explain what will you feel while Dining in the Dark as would like to leave this part to experience yourself but for sure you will enjoy as I did.

It is not a common experience, you really get to appreciate your sight. the experience awaken your other senses ,, its fun, try it if you want to do something new. “ its really dark there”

Dining in the Dark is a remarkable experienced. It was my first time to try this awesome experienced to dine in the dark. It gives you a lot of excitement to try the food they prepared for you, since you are just using your smell,taste and touch senses. By the way, the food they prepared are so delicious. Pitch Black Dining in the Dark is a first ever in Abu Dhabi, everyone must try!

I smiled the entire time .A really one of a kind experience! Great food great idea,plus great service.Its certainly something everyone needs to try at least once.
